I have been on doxycycline an antibiotic for about 5 days and i seem to be feeling very anxious and panic like. Does anyone know if this can cause these symptoms. I am also on 25mg of zoloft. Thanks for any help you can give me.
I'm worried my doctor is over-prescribing me Doxycycline for my newly diagnosed HS. He told me I just have a mild case, yet in addition to a clyndamicin lotion, he also prescribe me a 6-week course of Doxy, orally. This seems excessive to me for just a mild case with only one lesion that isn't bothering me too much, just stubborn and hasn't gone away yet. I'm worried about side-effects from taking the oral antibiotics, as I've had bad experiences in the past.
It will make no difference. In the US, the standard doxycycline regimen for chlamydia, NGU or cervicitis (the main STD reasons for prescribing it) is for 7 days treatment. Research shows that when 7 days is prescribed, more than half the patients miss doses or stop the treatment after only 4-5 days, yet the cure rates are the same as those who take the full 7 days of treatment. Although 14 days treatment is common in some places (e.g., the UK), even 7 days often is overkill.
Hi I'm hoping someone can help. I recently finished a 7 day course of doxycycline for chlamydia (took last one on the 27th Jan) however I'm still having frequent urination and a burning sensation ( a symptom I didn't really have before I took the antibiotics!) I'm also feeling quite tired and lousy with it too.
Is it possible that the antibiotics didn't work or is as a result of having chlamydia. Prostatitis maybe. Be grateful for any advice. Thanks!
She told me it the itching might be from inflammation, but still ended up prescribing me doxycycline rather than Azithromycin like the first time. I’ve been taking it since Friday today is the 4th day, but I’m still having mild itching.
Just looking for anymore information or advise about withdraws from Fioricet / I have been taking this medication from years from Migrain headaches, it's seemed the longer I was on it the less it helped so I would increase my doses because I could not get rid of my headaches the other day I just stopped using it because it was like just this non stop headache.

10/8/12 - feeling worse; achy, constant 99.5-8 temp; call Dr. who wants to do another U/A-culture?!?
I say call in the infectious disease specialist!! Who is right?
Is it your RE prescribing this? I'm not familiar with that specific drug, but I would assume it is one of the ones that are safe to take in pregnancy. Lots of women are treated for UTIs while pregnant, so I would think it's fine, but hopefully someone else on here has had some personal experience with it and can give you some more info...

A couple months ago I had a few instances of unprotected sex with a girl I was seeing. I didn't really know anything substantial about her medical history. About 4 weeks ago I started to experience a burning after urination in my penis and general irritation in the groin area. Never really had a rash, or sores, or anything like that. No discharge either. Although, I did have an influx of white heads pop up on my scrotum.
There should be a prescribing information sheet included with a prescription medicine that will list known side effects.

This is the latest of a handful of studies in recent years questioning the efficacy of azithromycin against rectal chlamydia. Single-dose AZM remains a routine recommendation, but some STD specialists indeed have more confidence in doxycycline. Probably the best approach is for you to have another rectal swab NAAT test, at least a month after treatment (and have no receptive anal sex until then); but some experts might go along with re-treatment with doxy.

He also confirmed epididymitis with inflamation of the veins, prescribed 100mg doxycycline once a day for 10 days and ibuprofin. After few days the epididymitis became bilateral. I had to pleed to the doctor to give me a scrip for a blood test as too eliminate any possible causes and to possibly learn more about what I am fighting. still waiting for lab results)

I have been diagnosed with folliculitis, and have been prescribed Doxycycline. I have been taking it now for almost two months and I have gained 10lbs very quick. I am still very active and have done nothing different as far as my diet goes. Is this a possible side effect of the antibiotic.

where did the pills come from?
I took Doxycycline for 10 days to treat a sinus infection. A week after finishing the Doxy I developed a sore throat and sore tongue. I'm assuming it is a reaction to the drug. How long will this stay in my system and is there anything I can take to alleviate the reaction?
