Avatar m tn The important thing right now is to get the lepto treated, which you are doing, so concentrate on that for now. If there is kidney damage or disease, it will need to be properly diagnosed and "staged" after all medications are complete. The medications will cloud any judgement, so diagnosis is virtually impossible right now. It may be acute or chronic, and blood testing will help determine this later.
Avatar m tn I was prescribed doxycycline for 10 days. I was refered to an urologist who had not come across the symptom before. He advised due to the other nerve sensations to see a neurologist. After 2 weeks the nerve sensation in my penis disappeared (for 7 days), however the hands and feet worse. I have now concluded the doxycycline. I still have the pins and needles sensation in left hand and foot ( including calf). And now 2 days later the nerve sensation in my penis has returned.
Avatar n tn I have a pain since 1996 somewhere inside my lower abdomen. I had a radiating pain down my right leg. Later it was diagnosed that i had a kidney stone and I did lithotripsy for the same. My contnued even after that and one doctor came close to my pain by diagnosing that I have chronic prostitis. An intercourse or slight erection gives me severe pain inside my anal area for which I press my buttocks to table corner or so to have a relief. I also apply hot water bag.
Avatar f tn My 13 years old pomeranian has been diagnosed with kidney failure about 2 months ago. He also has diabetes for the last 3 years. I thought I got the hang of his kidney to make him feel comfortable, yet he developed very bad skin infection on his entire body, worst in groin area and back legs to the point where he would not want to walk much. The vet tried 4 different antibiotics ( amoxicillin, then rilexine then Zeniquin and last doxycycline) and none have cleared the infection.
Avatar n tn January 2016 I started to experience the symptoms very irritable and swollen on the right testicle, I went to the doctors explained above ref Chlamydia and they gave me a 9 day course of doxycycline as they suspected epididymitis. Which did work initially, then the symptoms came back once the course was finished, the doctor then put me on a 4 weeks course. But I had alot of pain and swelling in the right epididymi.
Avatar f tn I took my dog Sadie in to the vet a week ago(9/21). The night before I took her in she was limping and refusing to use her right hind leg. Which progressed in to her not using both back legs and then not walking (within 12 hours). They performed a snap test which came back positive. They evaluated her and said it's highly likely it was ehrlichia because of her blood work and she also had ocular hemorrhaging (mainly in her iris's). Her platelets and RBC were low at the time.
Avatar f tn From the posts I read it seems that many were taking above the max dose 4000 mg of acetaminfen daily. Irreversable liver/kidney damage has always been a big concern to me which is why I never exceed the 4000 mg a day. I just had blood drawn yesterday & will nervously await the results. If they tell me my enzymes are higher it will be easier to quit. I think. Have any of you had any damage to liver/kidney damage as a result of your vicodin use?
Avatar n tn The vet prescribed doxycycline 100 mg twice a day for 3 weeks. My dog seems fine without any obvious symptoms. Can we just give him the doxycycline 100mg once a day instead because the medication may cause nausea/vomiting. Also after 3 weeks medication, how do you he is treated ? Any advice !
Avatar n tn Hello Ursamere. As you probably know, we're not physicians here, but are happy to share our experiences with you so you can explore the ideas further with your diabetes team. I'm also a long-time DMer - about 35 years. 5.6 is an excellent a1c and as one who's not (yet) achieved an a1c under 6, I admire the work & discipline it takes to achieve that.
Avatar m tn My memory is vague on all the information, but I was prescribed Doxycycline for 7 days. The symptoms got much better and my urine cleared up. Fast forward a couple months and I began to have the symptoms again, but minus the blood in my urine, at least visibly. I began to have severe lower right back pain, making me think it was a kidney stone or issue with my kidney. July 4th was the worst it had felt overall and I started using a heat pad to make the pain subside in my back.
Avatar f tn I and my husband received IV continous infusion Clindamycin treatment times 7 days and the followup testing showed we were both positive with clamydia. I still have pain in my right kidney that I usually have with chronic UTI. I am taking Cipro now for E. facelis but infection will not go away. It is too the point I don't want to have intercourse with my husband. Also did two months of oral macrobid and clarithomycin both I and my husband. Don't know what to do please advise.

Avatar f tn The only way to truly ease your mind is by being totally honest with him/her. I have liver damage and kidney damage due to drugs stage 2 liver stage 3 kidney.. if your liver were damaged and you had a flare your belly would be extended/pain upper right you would be lethargic/vomiting.. other symptoms but these being severe.. It is not fun and I would not wish it on anyone.. I contracted hep C from slamming and further continued the damage through pills/alcohol..
Avatar n tn [1] Stage 2 Mild reduction in GFR (60-89 mL/min/1.73 m2) with kidney damage. Kidney damage is defined as pathologic abnormalities or markers of damage, including abnormalities in blood or urine test or imaging studies.[1] Stage 3 Moderate reduction in GFR (30-59 mL/min/1.73 m2).[1] British guidelines distinguish between stage 3A (GFR 45-59) and stage 3B (GFR 30-44) for purposes of screening and referral.
Avatar f tn See your gynecologist again or go to your regular physician where s/he will probably direct you to someone who specializes in things like nerve damage. Definitely do something about the kidney infection. Are you getting treated for it? If not, start getting treated for it immediately.
Avatar f tn He also ordered a CT scan of the abdomen and pelvis to see if there might be kidney stones. I have not exhibited any of the more common kidney stone symptoms like side or back pain. A couple of days after this visit to the urologist, the pain was still there when I would pee, and I also noticed at this time that there would be some blood spotting at the end of the urine stream. Not anything significant, and mostly unnoticeable.
Avatar m tn While i may have bloating, tummy pains and rumbling of gas moving in my intestines etc, i have also been diagnosed with high protein in the urine, doctors say is caused by damage to the kidney, letting more albumin out than usual. They attribute this damage to the high blood pressure i am suffering. My question is: could the increased gas pressure from aerophagia enter the kidney and cause this physical internal damage, and/or augment the increased BP.
Avatar m tn Dr, I have been taking Doxycycline for 1 week. Does this drug adversely effect the sperm, can it cause damage to a possible fetus. In other words does it hurt the sperm so if succesful conception does take place, will it be putting the child for any birth defects or abnormalities. I also take Xanax for stress.
2121656 tn?1395674749 So, just to clarify, below results could possibly be caused from the Bactrim or Doxycycline, for my liver enzymes to fluxuate for awhile? of course me not being a Dr. couldn't understand, if I haven't been on the antibiotic's since April, why the liver enzymes would fluxuate from lower to higher range? You're not saying I could get autoimmue hepatitis from this happening, right? just that the antibiotics could trigger temporary autoimmune hepatitis?
