The vet tried 4 different antibiotics ( amoxicillin, then rilexine then Zeniquin and last doxycycline) and none have cleared the infection. After the doxycycline in liquid form my dog has been vomiting constantly. He can’t seem to swallow comfortably anymore. Even water seems to be a problem. His breath is very acidic. I tried to give him food through the syringe but he vomits everything, even after water. I gave him subq to keep him hydrated.
for aboot a year I dribbled while i pee peed. i didn't think anything of it. I just had to shake a bit longer than usual. eventually i came down with flu like symptoms an PAIN in my bladder area. it seems that this pain gets more and more frequent but there's no sign of infection. just pain in lower abdominal area. I took doxycycline and started peeing better but the pain is now permenent. any suggestions? tests? prostate maybe? who should i go see?
But I had alot of pain and swelling in the right epididymi. The 4 week course of doxycycline did stop the infection I believe at the time but still had swelling and soreness.
I had a UT scan to reveal I had a epididymal cyst, the doctor advised it would cause no harm and I would have to live with it. It is about the size of a pea. The skin over my epididymi is red sore and stringy, not normal, like its infected as my epididymi is sore.

IT IS MAINLY RESIDUAL INFLAMMATION SECONDARY TO AN ALREADY TREATED INFECTION AND TENDS TO BE IRRITATED BY THE URINE. THESE USUALLY CLEAR AFTER TIME. HOWEVER ANTI-INFLAMMATORIES, TOGETHER WITH ALKALYNISING URINE AGENTS CAN HELP WITH THE SYMPTOMS.

I went to a GUM clinic where an infection was found to be present, and so I was tested for gonorrhoea, chlamydia, HIV and syphilis; I do not think I was tested for trichomoniasis. Anyway, the tests came back negative.
Pending the results, the doctor had given me 7 days 2x100mg doxycycline which resolved symptoms quickly and I thought the infection was cleared. However, 5 days after the course was over, the white discharge returned.
I am allergic to sulfa and pcn. Many testings reveal no kidney abnormalities nor stones. Could this strain of clamydia be resistant because of my multipe courses of antibotics. Thank you in advance for your time.

You need to change Doctors and go for a Second or even Third Opinion....The one thing they need to make sure that its NOT, is testicular cancer.....

I was diagnosed with HS about two years ago. It started as a few small pimples on my thighs and then under my armpits that eventually turned into nasty, inflamed, infected boils. This went on and off for a few months. My dermatologist injected corisone directly into the boils/bumps and put me on doxycycline, then oracea for about six months total.
Its been three days after I completed my course of Doxycycline and still I feel tired and feverish,also my face is itchy on cheek and around my lips,mild headache,pain in thighs and some times my testicles pain.
I have an appointment with urologisit this friday.
It will be a great help if you can advise me what it is? based on your experience.

I think you need some more testing done, but since you are on meds, that might be tricky.
Flank pain can also be caused by a urinary tract infection, kidney infection, etc., so don't limit yourself to thinking an std is the cause, especially with negative tests.
Did they do a pelvic exam? A urine test? Or did they only focus on stds?
I took Doxycycline for 10 days to treat a sinus infection. A week after finishing the Doxy I developed a sore throat and sore tongue. I'm assuming it is a reaction to the drug. How long will this stay in my system and is there anything I can take to alleviate the reaction?
I took my dog Sadie in to the vet a week ago(9/21). The night before I took her in she was limping and refusing to use her right hind leg. Which progressed in to her not using both back legs and then not walking (within 12 hours). They performed a snap test which came back positive. They evaluated her and said it's highly likely it was ehrlichia because of her blood work and she also had ocular hemorrhaging (mainly in her iris's). Her platelets and RBC were low at the time.
Azithromycin treatment failure occurs in around 1 per cent of cases so no it's not common. Doxycycline for a week will definately cure the infection, it is slightly more effective given the prolonged use and therefore increased bioavailability. There are others you can take if this fails but I am confident it won't so don't worry.
4 days ago I developed a painful left testicle and the pain extended up my stomach to about the level of my belly button. I went to the doctor and he felt for a hernia and ran a urine sample. Said it didn't have blood or bacteria. And didn't feel a hernia. Rx doxycycline 100mg twice a dayfor 7 days. I had taken a vocodin 10mg and it didnt help any with the pain. It felt like the epididymis was swolen. After a warm bath if felt different from the right side.
I have a pain since 1996 somewhere inside my lower abdomen. I had a radiating pain down my right leg. Later it was diagnosed that i had a kidney stone and I did lithotripsy for the same. My contnued even after that and one doctor came close to my pain by diagnosing that I have chronic prostitis. An intercourse or slight erection gives me severe pain inside my anal area for which I press my buttocks to table corner or so to have a relief. I also apply hot water bag.
The day I met the guy at a bar I had gotten a prescription for doxycycline for a sinus infection, but did not take the first one until later that night as the doctor said it should be one in morning and one at night. It is a 14 day regimen of doxycycline. I read in prior posts that normally 7 days of doxycycline is not enough without an injection of another antibiotic, but I was wondering if 14 days would be enough to prevent/treat a ghonorrhea infection?
After that, I took Mg supplements for a long time and it worked great, then went off of them recently because they were giving me small kidney stones (I was taking more than my previously damaged kidney could handle, I guess) and after a few weeks now without the supps, I can feel the muscle cramps in my calves starting to come back slowly. Time to find a dosage my poor little kidney can handle.
Mg also helps you sleep.
