I have been on doxycycline an antibiotic for about 5 days and i seem to be feeling very anxious and panic like. Does anyone know if this can cause these symptoms. I am also on 25mg of zoloft. Thanks for any help you can give me.

"Adults: 200 mg bid [meaning twice a day] with food; doses of up to 600 mg daily are often needed, as doxycycline is only effective at high blood levels." So perhaps your doc's doses are on the light side -- I'd ask him, but sometimes docs get huffy. I'd ask him anyway. It's your health we're talking about.

Was diagnosed with syphilis 2 weeks ago and went on the 14 day, 2 pills per day of 100mg doxycycline monohydrate. All of my obvious skin sores and spots almost disappeared except one on my penis head gland close to the pee hole. This spot is still noticeable. I was involved in Giving oral sex sometimes back and I had slight pain in my right testes..My doctor prescribed Doxycycline dosage 100mg twice a day for 14 days. during the course of medication I skipped one pill one day and 3 pills during some other days. Does this affect the efficacy of the medicine since i missed 4 pills totally(2 days) . But i started skipping the before said pills after 11 days of continuous medication. Please let me know if I have to take the course again.

It might be, it does seem a little light but it could clear a STD up if you had it. Best thing is always wait for tests. And I think this is why the Dr went light on the dosage.

Hi. I'm a 19 year old male and I've been taking doxycycline for about 3.5 years for my acne. I noticed that around the time I began taking the medicine that my libido took a huge nosedive, and I am currently not experiencing morning wood, or sexual feelings in general. The vet prescribed doxycycline 100 mg twice a day for 3 weeks. My dog seems fine without any obvious symptoms. Can we just give him the doxycycline 100mg once a day instead because the medication may cause nausea/vomiting. Also after 3 weeks medication, how do you he is treated ? Any advice !

I know doxycycline can make your skin sensitive to light, so might that be a skin reaction caused by it?
