Avatar f tn Is it safe to take doxycycline hyclate for bronchitis since I have both intestinal cystitis and gastroparesis?
Avatar n tn I have been on doxycycline an antibiotic for about 5 days and i seem to be feeling very anxious and panic like. Does anyone know if this can cause these symptoms. I am also on 25mg of zoloft. Thanks for any help you can give me.
Avatar n tn The vet prescribed doxycycline 100 mg twice a day for 3 weeks. My dog seems fine without any obvious symptoms. Can we just give him the doxycycline 100mg once a day instead because the medication may cause nausea/vomiting. Also after 3 weeks medication, how do you he is treated ? Any advice !
Avatar f tn Can someone tell me what STDs can be treated with Doxycycline? Can you list all of them please? Thank you.
Avatar n tn But the insomnia was miserable so I called my doctor to ask if there was anything I could do for the side effects, so he switched me to 3 wks of doxycycline, which I started taking immediately. Now I sleep OK but after two days the symptoms are back in full force. I'm wondering if I made a mistake in switching. Have others had similar experiences? Is doxy just slower to take effect?
Avatar f tn I had acute bronchitis with a nasty cough for about 5 months and I went to the doctor twice for it and the second time they gave me different antibiotics and it helped. Good luck, hope you feel better!
Avatar n tn I have built up a tolerance to Levequin, Zithromyacin, Amoxicillin, after 9 years of COPD and now have bronchitis. Any suggestions for other potential antibiotics or other ideas?
Avatar m tn Our dog has been coughing and hacking for almost a year. We've taken him to the vet, who diagnosed him with Bronchitis. We've given him rounds and rounds of meds to no avail. I'm starting to think it's due to him sleeping in our service porch with the washer and dryer. (fiber\dust) Do you have a dog with bronchitis and if so, what if anything, cured him?
757137 tn?1347196453 you might just try eating one banana a day. That might help both your potassium levels and your hypoglycemia, as you say both are mild problems. And you might try supporting your adrenals with adaptogens such as eleuthero and ashwaganda. For exact potassium levels, that's hard, because potassium is a nutrient one has to be careful about -- you don't want too much, don't want too little. You might look into an electrolyte supplement -- and I don't mean Gator Aid!
1814032 tn?1392518958 t want to go any further, because it was closing time. He diagnosed me with bronchitis, and prescribed me doxycycline 100 MG twice a day, along with an allergy med. and 600 MG Ibuprofen. I know that 90% of bronchitis cases are viral. He himself metioned that he didn't want to give my sick daughter an antibiotic for obvious reasons. So why would he give me 10 days worth for "acute bronchitis"?
Avatar m tn 2 weeks later i did a sputum test which showed I had klebsiella oxytoca infection as well as pseudonomas aeruginosa. They treated me with cetamadine iv for 7 days and 10 days of doxycycline (oral). The klebsiella was gone but pseudonomas remained. They then put in a pic line and gave me 3 daily doses of gentamyacin , and 10 days of zosyn . ( zosyn ran for 20 hrs per day and genta for 1hr) .
Avatar n tn He advised against this but gave me a prescription of Azithromycin, with 500mg dosage twice a day for three days. In all my research online, I have read that the recommended dosage is 1g of Azithromycin taken once. Is the dosage I was prescribed as effective?
Avatar f tn I have been sick since mid November with acute brohnchitis. Here it is almost January and I am no better. Deep cough with greenish phlegm, chills, fatigue, body aches. No fever at all, and have been on doxycycline and levaquin, with a cough syrup at night. I'm having a lot of chest pain when breathing. Is this still brohncitis? The doctor said my lungs were clear, but I'm not so sure. I can feel myself breathing in and out mucous.
Avatar m tn I am a man. Next day, having been prescribed Biaxin for bronchitis, I took four 500 mg pills at once. I know this was foolish, but I had panicked. 5 days later I developed an infected ingrown hair at the base of my penis. I am over forty, and I believe I know an ingrown hair when I see one - when I take Biaxin I get them all over my legs. Next day, the bump had not opened up into an ulcer. I saw a hair growing out of the middle of it, and squeezed the bump.
Avatar n tn And please stop using doxycycline, if it is triggering your allergic reactions. Consult your doctor for alternate antibiotics. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn Well, goodness, doxy is taken for all kinds of reasons - acne, bronchitis and other upper respiratory infections, eye infections, gum disease, even malaria. It's a broad spectrum antibiotic, which means it's used for many, many things. She's a CSW. You aren't entitled to her medical history. This is not a relationship where you share personal details. Oral IS a risk for gonorrhea, chlamydia and syphilis.
1297091 tn?1272567794 I suggested that, if you have bronchitis you go back for another breathing test. If you are congested with bronchitis the test may be misleading.
Avatar f tn Below is copied from Dr Burrascano's treatment guidelines for Lyme (posted on the ILADS website), including an entry on doxycycline [aka doxy] dosage: "Adults: 200 mg bid [meaning twice a day] with food; doses of up to 600 mg daily are often needed, as doxycycline is only effective at high blood levels." So perhaps your doc's doses are on the light side -- I'd ask him, but sometimes docs get huffy. I'd ask him anyway. It's your health we're talking about.
Avatar n tn I do not have chronic bronchitis but I've had bronchitis and only took prednisone for a small amount of time. The best treatment for me turned out to be switching from Flovent 110, my normal dosage, to 220 whenever I felt a cold coming on.
17344032 tn?1455826300 6 months ago my18 year old standard yorkshire terrier was diagnosed by the vet to have Bronchitis (Pneumonia) and pancreatitis For these conditions the vet prescribed 1 10mg Veraflox daily for 3 months, 2 50mg vivitonin, and 2 5mgprednisolone steroid daily for the rest of his life. 1964979 tn?1325538025 from a 5am trip to the ER to stop a bloody nose, to getting prescribed Doxycycline for bronchitis and occasional fever.. general feeling like poop.. but the upside is the cough is diminishing, I am keeping vaseline in my nose (Minnesota in the winter is VERY dry) and my platelet count is up to 48K.. so continuing the 90mcg dose of interferon, and enjoying the prospect of counting down until the telepravir drops off! Keep the faith everyone and have a great week!
Avatar f tn in the middle, I was subsequently diagnosed with Bronchitis or possibly Mycoplasma pneumonia, and given Doxycycline just in case as well as the other Antibiotic I was taking (I am allergic to Cephalosporin and Roxithromyacin antibiotics).
Avatar n tn I have been diagnosed with folliculitis, and have been prescribed Doxycycline. I have been taking it now for almost two months and I have gained 10lbs very quick. I am still very active and have done nothing different as far as my diet goes. Is this a possible side effect of the antibiotic.
1100598 tn?1413127426 Ever since then, I have had chest pain, shortness of breath, fainting spells, weakness, back pain, a worseneing cough, low grade fever, chills, rash on my belly or chest, and nausea. 1580703 tn?1651904887 If your present medications are not helping with the symptoms, it is best that you inform your attending physician for proper management. A change of medication or dosage may also be indicated. Treatment for bronchitis is usually supportive. And patients with underlying lung diseases such as asthma are usually at greater risk of developing recurring infection. Do keep us posted. Take care and best regards.
