doxycycline dosage info

I have been on doxycycline an antibiotic for about 5 days and i seem to be feeling very anxious and panic like. Does anyone know if this can cause these symptoms. I am also on 25mg of zoloft. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Can someone tell me what STDs can be treated with Doxycycline? Can you list all of them please? Thank you.

However, resistance to sulfa drugs has steadily increased and typically treatment for one includes treatment for the other.. and today Chlamydia is usually treated with doxycycline.

Below is copied from Dr Burrascano's treatment guidelines for Lyme (posted on the ILADS website), including an entry on doxycycline [aka doxy] dosage: "Adults: 200 mg bid [meaning twice a day] with food; doses of up to 600 mg daily are often needed, as doxycycline is only effective at high blood levels." So perhaps your doc's doses are on the light side -- I'd ask him, but sometimes docs get huffy. I'd ask him anyway. It's your health we're talking about.

yes i got it checked at the urologist and he said it felt fine just a little conjested, so he gave me doxycycline and i went back and he said the stuff in my urine cleared and it was better. but i still felt irritated in the urethra so he gave me pills in his office and i took them for 3 days, i was for uti and inflamtion but it didnt help.

It might be, it does seem a little light but it could clear a STD up if you had it. Best thing is always wait for tests. And I think this is why the Dr went light on the dosage.

Does anyone know the difference between Doxycycline Mono and Doxycycline Hyclate?

The vet prescribed doxycycline 100 mg twice a day for 3 weeks. My dog seems fine without any obvious symptoms. Can we just give him the doxycycline 100mg once a day instead because the medication may cause nausea/vomiting. Also after 3 weeks medication, how do you he is treated ? Any advice !

I have been diagnosed with folliculitis, and have been prescribed Doxycycline. I have been taking it now for almost two months and I have gained 10lbs very quick. I am still very active and have done nothing different as far as my diet goes. Is this a possible side effect of the antibiotic.

Urologist put me on 10 days of Doxycycline. I took the complete dosage and the day after my last dose, when I masturbated, my semen was thick, and yellow. Almost like mucus. Is this a normal side effect of the medication ? She put me on it due to urethritis and what she felt was prostatitis... It just seemed strange the thickness and color but I know medications can do things like that. Thanks.

Hey, Zpack works differently for different illnesses. Years of studies have shown the best treatment for chlamydia is 1g taken at once. That doesn't mean that a higher dosage won’t work, it’s just proven not to be as effective.

i was about to be cured from Gonorrhea but i skip some dosage of cephalexin, my problem now is i need to switch to CIPROFLOXACIN but i found out that it wasn't working for me some how im one of those patient's who were resistant to it according to the UPDATES on GONORRHEA RESISTANCE... should i go back to cephalexin? my dosage before was 500mg 3x a day... Got tested and was positive for chlamydia. I got treated and was put on doxycycline. Got re-tested and I am cured of it but the symptoms never went away. For the past three years after I urinate and after sex (ejaculation) it burns really bad in the middle urethra and part of of the penis never during urination. I've been the urologist and he says he found strep in my semen and he wanted to treat me for it.

In the mean time the doctor told me to stop taking the Cipro and he prescribed me Doxycycline. It seemed like right away after taking the Doxycycline that my symptoms started to feel better. I thought for sure that it was getting better and that would be the end of it. Well i still haven't gotten the results back from the STD's test, and after 5 days of being on the Doxycycline my symptoms have started coming back.

gave me 10 day 2 dosage of doxycycline just in case. Swab test for chlamydia was positive and I finished remainder of antiobiotics.
