Now regarding herpes, if someone suspects herpes exposure, if I were to start on Valtrex within 24 hours, would this stop the virus from spreading or in other words kill it as so it cant spread any further. Same goes for taking Doxycycline stop all bacterials in there tracks prior to manifestation.
OK, so here is the story, I had an early Mc in December and am now pregnant again (I think 5+5 weeks, midwife has put it down to 9+5 due to irregular periods) my question is, in the UK... How long does it take for the date of the early scan to come through? I am almost desperate to see this baby's heartbeat.

The day I met the guy at a bar I had gotten a prescription for doxycycline for a sinus infection, but did not take the first one until later that night as the doctor said it should be one in morning and one at night. It is a 14 day regimen of doxycycline. I read in prior posts that normally 7 days of doxycycline is not enough without an injection of another antibiotic, but I was wondering if 14 days would be enough to prevent/treat a ghonorrhea infection?
Will a week of Doxycycline be enough to nip this NSU in the bud? Will Doxycycline continue to be effective after I finish my 14 pills in one week? Or perhaps, should I ask for another week of Doxycycline, which would be ok too since this drug is DIRT CHEAP and is absolutely wonderful in terms of side effects. The side effects are only mildly annoying, which cannot be said about other drugs I have sampled. However, I hate the "gut rot" as I call it...
As we have just moved to the UK I am without employment and wondered if there was anyway I could help ease his pain or do you recommend I take him to the vet and if so what is the average cost. I just gave him half a disprin and warmed up a bean bag to put under his head. Please helped ....
I was recently evaluated by a dentist for possible veneer, mainly for cosmetic reasons. However, given the condition of my teeth, he recommended crowns instead of veneers. He also recommended crown lengthening because my teeth are small and "too short". It would cost me $600 for whitening (ZOOM), $4500 for crown lengthening-6 teeth and about $2500 per crown (including provisional crown, post and porcelein crown). I have several questions:
1) Is this overpriced?.
I had a syphilis diagnosis Feb 14...wasn't really sure what stage it was in, but the titer came back at 1:16. Before I actually knew I had syphilis I thought it was a sore throat, so I took a Z-pak and when I was retested a week later the result was 1:1 nonreactive. The nurse was saying that was odd. I had two rounds of Pen G injections for two weeks. Abstained from sex...same partner, he was tested and came back negative of all stds.
24 male from UK, 2 weeks ago I was prescribed Combivir as PEP after a risk of exposure with a CSW in Kenya (unprotected vaginal). Started at about 12 hours and haven't missed a dose.
My liver enzymes tested normal at 10 days except ALT at 71 U/L and Albumin at 5.05 g/dl (though from what I've read this may be within normal in most labs for albumin).
Because I'm so remote I was given 2g metronidazole and 1g azithromysin in the event symptoms appear in the field.
I was given a shot of Ceftriaxone and a course of Doxycycline 100mg twice daily for 10 days. The symptoms I had were a burning sensation whilst urinating and a constant white/yellow discharge. The doctor I saw at the sexual health clinic has worried me somewhat since she said that the condition is becoming harder to treat due to resistant strains of the infection.
I was prescribed 1g of azithromycin 3 weeka ago in the UK for chlamydia.
Unfortunately from a bad reaction I had to a medicine years ago, I have a phobia of tablets, so I crushed the azithromycin, mixed it with water, waited for it to dissolve (about 2 hours), and drank it (very foul bitter taste).
After 3 weeks, my chlamydia is back, exactly the same stomach cramps, and discharge (I'm female).
