Would taking doxycycline (100mg 2x a day for 14 days) prevent a possible syphilis infection? I started taking the doxycycline 2 days after I had unprotected sex with a female bartender. I also took 2g Azithromycin and 400mg cefixime12 hours after the encounter. Then after I completed 14 days of doxycycline, I took a course of the cefixime (400mg daily for 10 days). Do I still need to worry about possible syphilis infection?
