Avatar f tn t know what the new meds will cost yet. Any and all information is appreciated! (I have never treated before, geno 1a, stage 2.5 fibrosis). Also, as a side question, any information on getting treatment in Canada would be helpful. My husband has dual citizenship and I'm wondering if that might be an option for me. Thanks!

Avatar n tn Would taking doxycycline (100mg 2x a day for 14 days) prevent a possible syphilis infection? I started taking the doxycycline 2 days after I had unprotected sex with a female bartender. I also took 2g Azithromycin and 400mg cefixime12 hours after the encounter. Then after I completed 14 days of doxycycline, I took a course of the cefixime (400mg daily for 10 days). Do I still need to worry about possible syphilis infection?

Avatar m tn I contracted Lymes disease after being bitten by a tick whilst on a holiday in Boston USA in August 2006.I was treated in Canada with 14 days of Doxycycline approx 10 days after noticing the Erythma on my back.I had a blood test when returning to Australia approx 4 weeks later and this confirmed I had the bacteria in my blood.I had a further 2 weeks of Doxycycline treatment.Recently in July 2008 routine fitness (stress)tests I had, showed that I have severe cardio myapathy.
1218873 tn?1300091216 Over here in the UK, we generally don't know what the cost of tests and drugs are, as they are covered by the NHS. But over the past 12 months I have started to learn a bit of what thing cost, and it appears that even if you go private they are considerabley cheaper than in the US which to me dosen't seem quite right.
572651 tn?1530999357 This is interesting. I do have to say though, that $236 in India is probably worth more than $3,949 in the US. On the other hand, I'm in Italy and my recent week in the hospital didn't cost me a dime. But, anyone who doesn't want to wait months for tests that they need, etc, has to go "private" and pay out of pocket. I guess there is no perfect system in the end.
5426152 tn?1382129604 Does anyone know the average cost of a midwife in Canada? I was already planning on a natural birth but it seems like having a midwife will help my decision.
4981292 tn?1381256805 t know how to spell it) my question is, do you pay for that to be done and if so, how much? I live in Canada. Ont. My mother thinks that it now cost money but not sure how much.
Avatar f tn ( The cost will be offset by the cost of visits (and travel) to mandatory appts with my LLMD out of Canada, somewhat.

Avatar m tn //westoverheights.com/forum/search/Canada/ Just talk to her. It will be worth the cost of the video consult, and then you can go from there. She may have a list of labs in your area that will work with you.
Avatar m tn In Canada there is a generic form if you cannot get assistance from Novartis (the makers) I use http://www.canadapharmacyonline.com for my albuterol my copay in the US is $35 for 1 ,there I pay $60 for four including shipping. A friend of mine gets his Depakote from there it is so much cheaper, Trileptal I think in generic was $43 for 100 (150mg) generics. Check it out, they will tell you who makes it and what country, most are from Canada. PS.
Avatar m tn Now regarding herpes, if someone suspects herpes exposure, if I were to start on Valtrex within 24 hours, would this stop the virus from spreading or in other words kill it as so it cant spread any further. Same goes for taking Doxycycline stop all bacterials in there tracks prior to manifestation.
Avatar f tn Also call the hospital/clinic where you'd get it done to get a price quote for the procedure.
Avatar f tn That's so true, and I'm American. Its amazing how much the so called cost of Freedom actually cost, Especially for those that can't afford it. Canada is just way to Cold for comfort. I live in Miami, Florida. Sunny Place, Shady People.
Avatar m tn Yes sounds like allodynia. There are somatosensory rehabilitation specialists in Switzerland and Canada and I'm going to visit one next week because after 5 years I have finally realized what was wrong...because there is no test here in the us to diagnose. http://www.neuropain.ch/therapists Good luck!
Avatar m tn Rescue drugs while on treatment cost me....$120/week over and above what my group insurance covered. That hit me pretty hard at the time, not exactly spare change for me. Just the same, I was glad to have the 80% of it covered and thought I was pretty lucky. Guess for those with 100% coverage, even better. Still felt I was pretty fortunate though.
Avatar f tn Costs appear to vary widely from state to state, country to country. I live in Canada and have no clue what these tests cost. ( I've always thought this information should be available to Canadians so that people don't take universal health care for granted, because obviously it isn't 'free.'). I do know that generally, neurologists earn more, and charge more, in the U.S. than they do in Canada.
