dovonex

Avatar m tn Hello, Daivobet contains Calcipotriol/Betamethasone and may cause skin reddening and even skin color changes. Dovonex contains calcipotriene and may cause skin irritation, Rash, pruritus, dermatitis and worsening of psoriasis. Hence use it only after getting it prescribed from your doctor. Avatar f tn Hi, I am really really concerned about a burn scar which I have on my left hand. I burned my hand with hot wax in a little area about a size of a quarter about 6 months ago. Now I have a white scar on that area. I've been to a dermatologist and they prescribed me Dovonex and Vectical ointment. I've been using Dovonex and now I'm using Vectical. The dermatologist told me I should keep putting the ointment on before I think of doing something else.
Avatar n tn Other therapy with topical calcipotriene, tacrolimus 0.1% ointment (under occlusion) and imiquimod 5% cream may also be useful. PUVA and photodynamic therapy is also found to be useful. You can consult any good dermatologist in your area or in the metro cities and discuss these treatment options with him. Avatar f tn I have been switched to Dovonex for the treatment of psoriasis, but experienced achey joints and hormonal fluctuations after prolonged use of Desonide (0.05%). I was wondering if this is just a coincidence (that I am just naturally predisposed to having thyroid problems) or if I misused the ointment.
Avatar n tn Ive been using nizoral shampoo every other day on the infected area and for the first 2 weeks was using lamisil or canensten cream (anitfungal). However the last doctor i went to prescribed me DOVONEX (calciptotriol). Ive done some research on what it is, and there is no link between Psoriasis(which is what dovonex is used for) and Pytriaisis Versicolor or even Tinea Versicolor, or any other fungal infections for that matter.
766574 tn?1238465473 does anyone know about any new medicine for psoriasis?beside dovonex, enbrel, humira.?
Avatar m tn Topical therapy for psoriasis includes corticosteroids, tazarotene, anthralin, calcipotriol/calcipotriene and tars; some medicated shampoos are quite effective for treating scalp psoriasis against prescription. UV therapy is also useful. Besides these treatment options, regular exercises, nutritious diet and relaxation techniques will help to relieve stress and improve health, and contribute a lot in treating psoriasis. I suggest you to consult dermatologist. Take care and regards.
Avatar n tn My psoriasis lasted aorund 10 days on the genitals. Of course it did not go away without me putting Dovonex on it. Dovonex is not exactly highly recommended for the genital area but it cleared mine right up. I have also got those painless type lesions that crust over and go away within 2 weeks.
Avatar m tn Have you tried Dovonex, a vitamin D3 derivitive, on your elbows? Might be stronger than Elidel on that part of the body. Ointment is stronger than cream. Just be careful not to get it on your face so best to wear long sleeves after applying so you won't accidently touch. Also, as mentioned, Protopic -- very similar to Elidel -- is a bit stronger and sometimes works better than Elidel.
Avatar m tn Initially we start with mild steroid creams which you have been prescribed. Other than that, calcipotriene and immunosuppressive drugs can also be used. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Avatar f tn He came home with OptiVet drops, antibiotic eye ointment, atropine ophthalmic ointment, and Rimadyl. He has not had the atropine ointment in about 48 hours and his pupil is still very dilated. Is this normal?
Avatar f tn Even with atarax, halobetasol cream, and calcipotriene cream, the itchiness continues and interrupts my sleep.Zyrtec helps during the day but does not last as long as it did initially. My derm wants me to go back on plaquenil because my planopilaris is worsening and I now have lumps on my head, some of which are painful. My question is two-fold: Is there a relationship between the two diseases? Any causes or cures?
Avatar n tn Although this type of skin problem is very difficult to treat, but you can try Elidel cream or Protropic ointment on these hypopigmented areas. But use them after a dermatologist’s guidance. If the symptoms still persist then you can talk to your dermatologist about laser-assisted chemabrasion(LACA).It has provided excellent results in such hypopigmentation. I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries. Kind regards.
Avatar f tn I have a sore on my tongue that's been there awhile. The ear nose & throat doctor said it is irritation & hard to heal. I'm taking Lysine tablets 500 mg 3xs daily. Just started .I have seen L-Lysine ointment by basic organics. People use it for core sores & ulcers on the inside of lip. Would it be safe to dab a small amount on my tongue to help battle this condition faster. It is painful & very frustrating.
Avatar f tn My dog has weepy eyes again & we have a tube of otocomb*otic ointment that I'm pretty sure we used last time. Does that sound right? I want to make sure they it'd the right tube.

Avatar n tn Hello, my six month old son was born with ILVEN. It starts on the back of his shoulder and goes down his arm to the crease of his arm. We have been going to a pediatric dermatologist since we first noticed it. They did a biopsy and it came back as ILVEN. His dermatologist prescribed dovonex and a steroid cream I apply twice daily. I have been doing this for 3 months now and I don't see any change at all. Our next appointment is in another 3 months to check it.
Avatar f tn I have been on betamethasone, desonide, dovonex (for a year) and, now, clobetasol (once a day). I will be undergoing phototherapy in a month. My question is whether or not it is safe to have phototherapy on thinning skin. Also, should I treat thinning skin with moisturizers or is there another solution? I have terrible bruising; but the cream seems to be working.
Avatar n tn I was prescribed zovirax acyclovir ointment 5% for a subsequent o/b.On the pamphlet it says it is for initial o/b's in immunocompetent persons as myself. But the pharmacist says it is doesn't matter and that the ointment is better than the cream because it adheres better.Which one is better for subsequent genital herpes o/b......acyclovir cream or ointment? What is the difference between the cream and the ointment? Thanks.
Avatar n tn Ive been using Nizoral shampoo and used a couple fo antifungal creams. But recently iive been prescribed Dovonex. I have no idea why though =\ How can i know if the fungus is gone and whether i should stoop using the dovonex as it is starting to irritate me and is a hassle putting it on.
Avatar f tn I burned myself cooking supper, and i was curious if its okay to use burn ointment.
Avatar n tn He proscribed me Taclonex (calcipotriene 0.005% and betamethasone dipropionate 0.064%), and told me to take it for about 4-6 weeks or "until it gets better." He wasn't concerned about a "rebound reaction." He did say to avoid scratching, because removing the scales "makes it worse." And before I left - wouldn't you just know it? He gave me a handful of coupons. So here I am, totally confused.
Avatar m tn When I was 18 i had my first bacterial case. I was prescript an ointment to fight my bacteria. It healed in less than 2 weeks. Through out this 4 years Ive been having a on and off case of my bacteria, but didnt think much of it since i would simply use the ointment and itll go away. That wasnt until 3 weeks ago when i had unprotected sex , which was very dry and rough. After we finished i cleaned up and applied the same ointment.
Avatar n tn Ask your pharmacist if he has generic 5% sodium chloride ophthalmic ointment. Muro or the generic ointment does not raise eye pressure. It is hypertonic saline, designed to pull fluid osmotically from the swollen cornea.
Avatar m tn He prescribed an ointment called oftalmolosa cusi de icol. When the first two days started treatment, my mom helped me apply ointment. My left eye non-stop dropped tears and then I use tissue to wipe from time to time. On the third day, I applied ointment myself. I realized my right eye started to become pink eye. On the fourth day when I woke up, my left eye totally couldn't open and then able to open after a while.
