Dovonex calcipotriene cream

Common Questions and Answers about Dovonex calcipotriene cream

dovonex

Avatar m tn Hello, Daivobet contains Calcipotriol/Betamethasone and may cause skin reddening and even skin color changes. Dovonex contains calcipotriene and may cause skin irritation, Rash, pruritus, dermatitis and worsening of psoriasis. Hence use it only after getting it prescribed from your doctor. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar n tn Ive been using nizoral shampoo every other day on the infected area and for the first 2 weeks was using lamisil or canensten cream (anitfungal). However the last doctor i went to prescribed me DOVONEX (calciptotriol). Ive done some research on what it is, and there is no link between Psoriasis(which is what dovonex is used for) and Pytriaisis Versicolor or even Tinea Versicolor, or any other fungal infections for that matter.

Avatar f tn One medicine which has been advised by many dermatologists for scar diminishing is contractubex gel/cream. You can seek your dermatologist/surgeon’s opinion before using this cream. Otherwise you can go in for glycolic peals, laser treatments and pressure dressings. Severe scarrings may need skin grafting by a plastic surgeon. Avatar n tn My psoriasis lasted aorund 10 days on the genitals. Of course it did not go away without me putting Dovonex on it. Dovonex is not exactly highly recommended for the genital area but it cleared mine right up. I have also got those painless type lesions that crust over and go away within 2 weeks.
Avatar n tn Other therapy with topical calcipotriene, tacrolimus 0.1% ointment (under occlusion) and imiquimod 5% cream may also be useful. PUVA and photodynamic therapy is also found to be useful. You can consult any good dermatologist in your area or in the metro cities and discuss these treatment options with him. Avatar f tn Even with atarax, halobetasol cream, and calcipotriene cream, the itchiness continues and interrupts my sleep.Zyrtec helps during the day but does not last as long as it did initially. My derm wants me to go back on plaquenil because my planopilaris is worsening and I now have lumps on my head, some of which are painful. My question is two-fold: Is there a relationship between the two diseases? Any causes or cures?
Avatar n tn I use econazole cream - and it works great. No messy Selsen nights for me. I use the cream on the spots and around the surrounding area for at least 5-7 days (once or twice a day depending on how bad). It can be a pain if it is all over your back for instance - but dilligence and consistent use of the cream will kill it fast. This last time I only did it for 3-4 days and it covered most of my back. It's gone and the tanning bed has returned my skin to normal in a few sessions.
Avatar m tn Topical therapy for psoriasis includes corticosteroids, tazarotene, anthralin, calcipotriol/calcipotriene and tars; some medicated shampoos are quite effective for treating scalp psoriasis against prescription. UV therapy is also useful. Besides these treatment options, regular exercises, nutritious diet and relaxation techniques will help to relieve stress and improve health, and contribute a lot in treating psoriasis. I suggest you to consult dermatologist. Take care and regards.
Avatar n tn Hello, my six month old son was born with ILVEN. It starts on the back of his shoulder and goes down his arm to the crease of his arm. We have been going to a pediatric dermatologist since we first noticed it. They did a biopsy and it came back as ILVEN. His dermatologist prescribed dovonex and a steroid cream I apply twice daily. I have been doing this for 3 months now and I don't see any change at all. Our next appointment is in another 3 months to check it.
Avatar m tn • Continuous long-term use of topical calcineurin inhibitors, including ELIDEL Cream, in any age group should be avoided, and application limited to areas of involvement with atopic dermatitis. Also limit your exposure to sunlight.
Avatar f tn I have been on betamethasone, desonide, dovonex (for a year) and, now, clobetasol (once a day). I will be undergoing phototherapy in a month. My question is whether or not it is safe to have phototherapy on thinning skin. Also, should I treat thinning skin with moisturizers or is there another solution? I have terrible bruising; but the cream seems to be working.
Avatar f tn I have been switched to Dovonex for the treatment of psoriasis, but experienced achey joints and hormonal fluctuations after prolonged use of Desonide (0.05%). I was wondering if this is just a coincidence (that I am just naturally predisposed to having thyroid problems) or if I misused the ointment.
Avatar n tn m really relieved because I have hope now. The dermatologist I went to gave me Dovonex and Vectical cream. They are caleciterol creams (contain heavy amounts of vitamin D). I didn't put it on as much because I keep losing patience (lol). But I want to know if you think my burn scar will go away with ginger juice and vitam D. And how about the gel from vitamin D capsules??
520292 tn?1232035850 I have treid all the regular stuff, dovonex, clobetasol, olux e , all the topicals! It just does not work for me, anybody have any other suggestions??

3126253 tn?1345384121 But anyways thought I would unform everyone I did buy the veet and will try it tonight. Am I suppose to get the body parts damp before adding the cream? The directions do not say anything about water.
1486289 tn?1315842255 MY DAUGHTER IS 7 WEEKS OLD AND I WAS WONDERING IS IT OK TO PUT SOME CREAM ON HER FACE BECAUSE WHAT LOOKS LIKE EXCZEMA IS STARTING TO APPEAR
Avatar n tn He proscribed me Taclonex (calcipotriene 0.005% and betamethasone dipropionate 0.064%), and told me to take it for about 4-6 weeks or "until it gets better." He wasn't concerned about a "rebound reaction." He did say to avoid scratching, because removing the scales "makes it worse." And before I left - wouldn't you just know it? He gave me a handful of coupons. So here I am, totally confused.

Avatar f tn s some pretty expensive organic, all natural ones out there with bases like almond oil etc (maybe try a health food shop? Or online) and a zinc cream/stick would be fine too (but gross for a whole body covering).
