Ive been using nizoral shampoo every other day on the infected area and for the first 2 weeks was using lamisil or canensten cream (anitfungal). However the last doctor i went to prescribed me DOVONEX (calciptotriol). Ive done some research on what it is, and there is no link between Psoriasis(which is what dovonex is used for) and Pytriaisis Versicolor or even Tinea Versicolor, or any other fungal infections for that matter.
One medicine which has been advised by many dermatologists for scar diminishing is contractubex gel/cream. You can seek your dermatologist/surgeon’s opinion before using this cream. Otherwise you can go in for glycolic peals, laser treatments and pressure dressings. Severe scarrings may need skin grafting by a plastic surgeon.

I use econazole cream - and it works great. No messy Selsen nights for me. I use the cream on the spots and around the surrounding area for at least 5-7 days (once or twice a day depending on how bad). It can be a pain if it is all over your back for instance - but dilligence and consistent use of the cream will kill it fast. This last time I only did it for 3-4 days and it covered most of my back. It's gone and the tanning bed has returned my skin to normal in a few sessions.
Hello, my six month old son was born with ILVEN. It starts on the back of his shoulder and goes down his arm to the crease of his arm. We have been going to a pediatric dermatologist since we first noticed it. They did a biopsy and it came back as ILVEN. His dermatologist prescribed dovonex and a steroid cream I apply twice daily. I have been doing this for 3 months now and I don't see any change at all. Our next appointment is in another 3 months to check it.

I have been on betamethasone, desonide, dovonex (for a year) and, now, clobetasol (once a day). I will be undergoing phototherapy in a month.
My question is whether or not it is safe to have phototherapy on thinning skin.
Also, should I treat thinning skin with moisturizers or is there another solution? I have terrible bruising; but the cream seems to be working.
GP then gave Synalar cream (Fluocinolore 0.005%). Color returned to normal, but shinning (scaly) with dry and pain developed over the scrotum bottom up to anal areas in further day 5. Movement caused spot skin casted off.
Then, GP gave Lamisil (terbinafine hydrochloride 10mg/g) for 5 days. I had 2 days break, and then GP gave resolve plus (miconazole nitrate 2%+hydrocortisone 0.5%) for further 5 days.
I have been switched to Dovonex for the treatment of psoriasis, but experienced achey joints and hormonal fluctuations after prolonged use of Desonide (0.05%). I was wondering if this is just a coincidence (that I am just naturally predisposed to having thyroid problems) or if I misused the ointment.

My hair had stopped falling out, my fingernails had started growing again, I was having regular bowel movements, I was sleeping all night, I just felt like I use to feel before I had my thyroid removed. When my levels were checked in June, my Tsh was 0.005 and my primary care doctor changed me to 112mcg. I have started having the symptoms again. I want to know if it is ok for a person to have low tsh levels. I asked my doctor if a person could live with low levels because I felt good.

I finally got a dermatology appointment in Jan 2011. The dermatologist started me off with Fluticasone (Cutivate) 0.005% to use 2 weeks on with one week off for 6 weeks. It feels good when applied for the first 30 min. to 1 hour but they would just dry and crust again when I don't use retail lip balms like vaseline or aquaphor after applying it. I went to my second appointment and had a lip biopsy.
m really relieved because I have hope now. The dermatologist I went to gave me Dovonex and Vectical cream. They are caleciterol creams (contain heavy amounts of vitamin D). I didn't put it on as much because I keep losing patience (lol). But I want to know if you think my burn scar will go away with ginger juice and vitam D. And how about the gel from vitamin D capsules??
You are chronic Hepatitis B with negative HBeAg. There are two types of HbeAg negative hepatitis: one is inactive with low replication of virus and treatment is usually not required; the other type is active with elevated levels of hbvdna and ALT and require treatment.
You should see a doctor who is experienced with treating Hepatitis B to test your ALT, hbvdna, and the state of your liver.
