Calcipotriol cream

Common Questions and Answers about Calcipotriol cream

dovonex

Avatar n tn For the last 3 years i really have not been doing anything about it and letting it clear up on its own, but sometimes that would take months. Recently i have been putting hydrocortisone cream 1% on it. it worked pretty well and It went away after about 5 days of use. Then about a few weeks later it came back in the same spot. Is it ok to use hydrocortisone cream on that same spot again or will my skin start to thin? Thanks.
Avatar n tn so... what am i doing? pursuing corticosteroids and calcipotriol? or maybe try just calcipotriol on its own to begin with?
Avatar m tn i developed psoriasis on my the head of my penis years ago, after seeing numerous drs and numerous steroid creams including clobetasol , which i later found out was way too strong, i now have regular bouts of psoriasis, about every other week, and still am using a cream "desonide" prescribed by my dermatologist, because if i dont use a cream when i have my symptoms, it wont get better, so it seems like im f@cked if i do , f@cked if i dont.
Avatar f tn Treatment options include Ointment and creams containing coal tar, dithranol (anthralin), corticosteroids like desoximetasone (Topicort), vitamin D3 analogues (for example, calcipotriol), and retinoids, Psoralen+UVA and PUVB therapy. Over time, psoriasis can become resistant to a specific therapy. Treatments may be periodically changed to prevent resistance developing (tachyphylaxis) and to reduce the chance of adverse reactions occurring. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.

Avatar n tn Hello, my six month old son was born with ILVEN. It starts on the back of his shoulder and goes down his arm to the crease of his arm. We have been going to a pediatric dermatologist since we first noticed it. They did a biopsy and it came back as ILVEN. His dermatologist prescribed dovonex and a steroid cream I apply twice daily. I have been doing this for 3 months now and I don't see any change at all. Our next appointment is in another 3 months to check it.
Avatar n tn He did a skin biopsy on my leg, and I am currently still waiting for results. In the meantime, he gave a Elcom (Mometasone Furoate 0.1%) Cream to put arms and legs, once daily. I have been using this cream for about a month now. I noticed that some of the spots on my arms are getting better, but as for my legs, there is little improvement. Also, I have noticed that the skin around the spots have become whiter and they seem to be different.
Avatar n tn Ointment and creams containing coal tar, dithranol (anthralin), corticosteroids like desoximetasone (Topicort), vitamin D3 analogues (for example, calcipotriol), and retinoids are routinely used. ref:http://www.mothernature.com/Library/Bookshelf/Books/16/185.
Avatar f tn Apart from that, topical medications like emollients, creams containing coal tar, dithranol (anthralin), corticosteroids like desoximetasone (Topicort), fluocinonide, vitamin D3 analogues (for example, calcipotriol), and retinoids have been routinely used. Phototherapy containing UV A has also been employed. But it is usually seen that psoriasis can become resistant to a specific therapy. Treatments may be periodically changed to prevent resistance developing.
Avatar m tn Topical therapy for psoriasis includes corticosteroids, tazarotene, anthralin, calcipotriol/calcipotriene and tars; some medicated shampoos are quite effective for treating scalp psoriasis against prescription. UV therapy is also useful. Besides these treatment options, regular exercises, nutritious diet and relaxation techniques will help to relieve stress and improve health, and contribute a lot in treating psoriasis. I suggest you to consult dermatologist. Take care and regards.
Avatar n tn my doctor prescribed dovobet which contains a combination of calcipotriol and betamethasone dipropionate. i made a point of asking my doctor if it was safe to use on my face, she said yes its fine.
Avatar n tn I was undergoing a physical exam at the VA and the nurse-practicioner diagnosed the problem as a fungus and to use Lotrimin or Clotrimazol cream. I tried Clotrimazol 1% and got the same results that I got with the Tar-based product. Once the rash develops, it just gets worse, even though I am using Clotrimazol. It takes about a week of constant washing and applying the creme to get it quieted down.
Avatar n tn External application of calcipotriol is supposed to be effective if confirmed.
Avatar n tn I've had red rashlike spots all over my torso for almost a year now. They don't itch that much but they are unsightly. After I shower they are worse. Looks like I have chicken pox. Went to a dermatologist and she did a byopsy and the result came back that it "could" be pityriasis rubia pilaris. She is still not sure. She told me to use a cream but there are so many of them that I'm not sure how this is going to help.

Avatar n tn it does not at all seem like herpes in that it is not a complex of sores nor does it itch or burn. i figured i would use some monostat cream on it in case it was a yeast infection. 3 days into the treatment i noticed an irritation on the underside of my penis below the glans. this one did itch ever so slightly. i continued to use the yeast infection cream on it but every time i was done taking a shower it would just dry right out again.

1567743 tn?1295431285 No curative treatment is available for ILVEN. Emollients and low potency topical steroids can relieve the itching and Topical calcipotriol may be effective but it is not used in children less than 12 years of age. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar m tn It is often considered to be a variant of pustular psoriasis and classified as a seperate entity.Steroids, external calcipotriol are some of treatment modalities. Do consult your doc.Best wishes.
Avatar n tn Attempted to moisten skin (neutral soap/hydroxyurea cream). After one month, lesions on elbows had resolved, but barely could celebrate and they had spread to the entire body - back and lower back, above pubic bone, internal thighs, and only one front tibial surface (had a rupture of the ACL/meniscus early March - same leg), neck, face (eyelids mainly) and back of knees.
