Common Questions and Answers about Dovonex ointment dose

dovonex

Avatar f tn Hi, I am really really concerned about a burn scar which I have on my left hand. I burned my hand with hot wax in a little area about a size of a quarter about 6 months ago. Now I have a white scar on that area. I've been to a dermatologist and they prescribed me Dovonex and Vectical ointment. I've been using Dovonex and now I'm using Vectical. The dermatologist told me I should keep putting the ointment on before I think of doing something else.
Avatar f tn I have been switched to Dovonex for the treatment of psoriasis, but experienced achey joints and hormonal fluctuations after prolonged use of Desonide (0.05%). I was wondering if this is just a coincidence (that I am just naturally predisposed to having thyroid problems) or if I misused the ointment.
Avatar n tn Ive been using nizoral shampoo every other day on the infected area and for the first 2 weeks was using lamisil or canensten cream (anitfungal). However the last doctor i went to prescribed me DOVONEX (calciptotriol). Ive done some research on what it is, and there is no link between Psoriasis(which is what dovonex is used for) and Pytriaisis Versicolor or even Tinea Versicolor, or any other fungal infections for that matter.
766574 tn?1238465473 does anyone know about any new medicine for psoriasis?beside dovonex, enbrel, humira.?
Avatar n tn My psoriasis lasted aorund 10 days on the genitals. Of course it did not go away without me putting Dovonex on it. Dovonex is not exactly highly recommended for the genital area but it cleared mine right up. I have also got those painless type lesions that crust over and go away within 2 weeks.
Avatar f tn Try an over-the-counter (OTC) cream or ointment containing hydrocortisone (Cortaid, Preparation H),but it is to be applied sparingly to the affected area. A protective ointment that contains zinc oxide (Desitin, Balmex) also may help. If your symptoms are worse at night, please take an antihistamine like Benadryl to reduce itching until topical treatments take effect.
Avatar m tn Have you tried Dovonex, a vitamin D3 derivitive, on your elbows? Might be stronger than Elidel on that part of the body. Ointment is stronger than cream. Just be careful not to get it on your face so best to wear long sleeves after applying so you won't accidently touch. Also, as mentioned, Protopic -- very similar to Elidel -- is a bit stronger and sometimes works better than Elidel.

Avatar f tn He came home with OptiVet drops, antibiotic eye ointment, atropine ophthalmic ointment, and Rimadyl. He has not had the atropine ointment in about 48 hours and his pupil is still very dilated. Is this normal?
Avatar m tn I´d like to have your opinion about different treatments for chlamydial eye infection. Treatments are Doxycycline 100mg, Azythromycin 1g, Erythromycin ointment, Chlortetracycline ointment and Azythromycin drops. Could you please evaluate them using different criteria such as efficacy againts chlamydia, tissue penetration, duration of treatment, side effects? Condition is unilateral chlamydial conjunctivitis for more than 6 months causing eye tearing, corneal infiltrates, meibomitis, dry eye.
1761834 tn?1315837826 I just took my last dose of incivek at 10 p.m..... yaaaaaay! haven't been on here in 3 weeks because my last 3 weeks have been horrendous.... constant room-spinning, difficulty breathing, nauseaus, dizzy, weak, and unbelievable constant headache with no relief from ibuprofen... also my blood pressure has been high (lower number consistently at 98 for last two months)... hopefully this will improve... i can't wait to feel different!!!
Avatar n tn Although this type of skin problem is very difficult to treat, but you can try Elidel cream or Protropic ointment on these hypopigmented areas. But use them after a dermatologist’s guidance. If the symptoms still persist then you can talk to your dermatologist about laser-assisted chemabrasion(LACA).It has provided excellent results in such hypopigmentation. I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries. Kind regards.
Avatar f tn I have a sore on my tongue that's been there awhile. The ear nose & throat doctor said it is irritation & hard to heal. I'm taking Lysine tablets 500 mg 3xs daily. Just started .I have seen L-Lysine ointment by basic organics. People use it for core sores & ulcers on the inside of lip. Would it be safe to dab a small amount on my tongue to help battle this condition faster. It is painful & very frustrating.
Avatar f tn My dog has weepy eyes again & we have a tube of otocomb*otic ointment that I'm pretty sure we used last time. Does that sound right? I want to make sure they it'd the right tube.
520292 tn?1232035850 I have treid all the regular stuff, dovonex, clobetasol, olux e , all the topicals! It just does not work for me, anybody have any other suggestions??
Avatar n tn Hello, my six month old son was born with ILVEN. It starts on the back of his shoulder and goes down his arm to the crease of his arm. We have been going to a pediatric dermatologist since we first noticed it. They did a biopsy and it came back as ILVEN. His dermatologist prescribed dovonex and a steroid cream I apply twice daily. I have been doing this for 3 months now and I don't see any change at all. Our next appointment is in another 3 months to check it.
Avatar f tn Also Fluocinonide ointment for my body rash, Hydrocortizone Valerate for my face, and Clobetesol solution for my scalp. I would suggest a strong cream for the body rash as opposed to the ointment because the ointment is very greasy and gets on everything. I think they have Fluocinonide cream and some people have used Kenalog cream. It just has to be very strong. The ointment works, but it will get on everything and ruin your clothing and bedsheets.
200956 tn?1425591539 It is very important not to reduce the dose of telaprevir in response to rash—or any adverse event, for that matter—as dose reduction may result in the emergence of telaprevir-resistant HCV variants.
4670047 tn?1375730401 My derm gave me the same hydroxyzine (the pill) but different ointment. Ultravate is the ointment. Its working so far and I've only used it twice.
5045042 tn?1365890100 I slathered my privates with a mix of cortisone creams (ointment was better there) and pawpaw ointment or similar. Around the anal area I used topical ointments for the itch, if that's a problem. If it's just the itchiness of the rash that is the problem and not the rashes themselves, and your doctors have had a good look at them, then be strong and, grit your teeth and know that the clearing forever of the virus is why we go through this crap. It can be sooo miserable. Good luck.
Avatar n tn 1%) cream and ointment (the cream was to be used once a day in the mornings, and the ointment was to be used once a day in the evenings). She instructed me to use the cream/ointment very sparingly, avoid getting or rubbing it into my eyes, and to only use for 14 days. After 14 days I am supposed to switch to an emollient. I am about a week into the treatment and the eczema is clearing up nicely. I was very careful not to get the cream or ointment into my eyes.
616582 tn?1225068601 My doctor put me on Bactrim for a sinus infection. I have had a slight reaction to it in the past. A couple hours after taking it I started getting a really bad itch on my penis. The skin under the helmet also swelled way up and it hurts a bit. I've taken Bactrim about 5 days now and the skin directly under the lip of the helmet has been peeling and is really sore. My doc says I'm not alleric to Bactrim and this is a coincidence but I'm not sure.
Avatar f tn I have been on betamethasone, desonide, dovonex (for a year) and, now, clobetasol (once a day). I will be undergoing phototherapy in a month. My question is whether or not it is safe to have phototherapy on thinning skin. Also, should I treat thinning skin with moisturizers or is there another solution? I have terrible bruising; but the cream seems to be working.
Avatar f tn April I was prescribed anti-fungal single dose plus an ointment to use daily. The itch faded away quickly which makes me think it was yeast, but the feeling of swelling, dryness and stiffness persisted and got worse. When I sit it feels like I'm sitting on something, a very tight feeling like something is going to pop. Especially bad if I've just washed the area.
