Diflucan dosage candida

Common Questions and Answers about Diflucan dosage candida

diflucan

Avatar f tn Hi...candida is yeast and it can cause all types of issues...DIFLUCAN is one of the best meds I know to help rid someone of excess yeast. There r also diet changes that can also help..... I am prone to yeast infections when taking antibiotics, and DIFLUCAN is the only thing that helps. As far as dosage, sorry I can not help...I would suggest asking a Pharmacist as they know meds and interaction and reactions better then most drs.
Avatar m tn What is the usual dosage for treatment of toenail fungus with Diflucan? My doctor prescribed it to me and it just seems to be different than normal. He said to take 100 mg/daily for the first 10 days of each month until it's gone. Is that a normal regimen?
Avatar m tn Can Gastritis be caused by Candida? The reason I am asking is because I was exposed to needless antibiotics in an ER then my testicals turned red like a yeast issue, then I had 10 days of 4000mgs of Augmentin for a constipation/colon infection. Then after a week of concluding that I developed gastritis for the first time, and a thrush.
Avatar f tn Two days after the test I ended up with a massive yeast infection. Took diflucan for 7 days and got better. Then on day 10 LLMD changed med to Biaxin. Three days after starting Biaxin uninary issues started again!!! I started diflucan immediately and stopped biaxin but now,on day 5, still no relief of urinary issues, though no itching yet. I am going going crazy here!! Have any of you had such experiences?
2118271 tn?1337463104 My grandson is in remission. He is taking two probiotics and keeps to a strict diet. Related, but not Crohn's, I was suffering from systemic candidiasis. My lungs were most affected, but my digestion was also problematic. Quite by chance I started taking small doses of Lugol's solution for a different purpose. I found the symptoms of candidiasis were ameliorated. I raised the dosage of Lugol's by increments, my condition improving steadily.
Avatar f tn I have had 6 rounds of diflucan to no avail. My urology dr is at a loss. Should I be seeing an infectious disease dr at this point? When I take diflucan I feel better quickly. Once I stop within a few days I feel terrible again. They prescribe diflucan for 14 days. Had it 6 x’s. Always comes back. No bacteria grows in urine. I am also antibiotic resistant from antibiotics for 49+ years. I Am not diabetic but do have polycystic ovarian syndrome.
Avatar m tn ve had chronic yeast infections (4-6 a year) for about 3 years now. 2 years ago my doctor prescribed Diflucan and it worked well for a while (cleared up the infection right away). About 8 months ago the Diflucan stopped being as effective, and I would have to take one 150mg pill then followed by another 150mg pill 3 days later. For the past 6 months I've had a yeast infection that has not really gone away. I have relief for a couple days to a week max and then the symptoms returned.
Avatar n tn I am unable to eat much fruit or vegetables with high sugar content. I am currently being treated with Diflucan and Cipro for an existing yeast problem. I am taking Diflucan for 30 days and Cipro for 10 days. This will give me some relief for about three or four months and then I will need to treat the problem again. Questions: Should I change the Diflucan/Cipro time schedule or try different drugs? Any other suggestion would be very much appreciated.
Avatar m tn See if u can get a dosage of DIFLUCAN which helps eliminate the yeast from taking antibiotics...and u may want to ask for it going forward each time u r rx'd an antibiotic.....and then do look into a probiotic to replace all teh good bacteria u need to process ur food : ) No worries...
Avatar f tn I have tried to nystatin a couple of times plus difulcan 150mg for 7 days over and over since the end of September and I am currently on diflucan 100mg for 30 days since January 29, 2015. I am about done with that and it is still there..I can't get it to clear up. Just to let you know, I have lupus (sle), sjogren's syndrome, raynaunds, fibromyalgia, interstital cystitis, ibs, reflux, possible adrenal fatigue which I see my kidney dr.
2118271 tn?1337463104 I'm freaking out that I have candida. Was wondering if anyone else has dabbled in this diagnosis or if this is just my imagination. I have a white coating on my tongue that mostly went away on Diflucan but has since slowly made its return back. Most of it brushes off, but more and more its staying there since the Diflucan. And brain fog... Is this anxiety? Am i just over worrying about something? I read about candida online but then the doctor says it can't be that.
Avatar m tn d guess it is more related to the candida. Have you been treated with Diflucan? this is not to say you don't have endo though. What's happened since you wrote this post?
Avatar f tn About 6 yrs ago my daily inhaler stopped working & I was diagnosed with a pneumoniae & on very strong antibiotics. A red blotch appeared under arm..family Dr gave me Diflucan saying candida. Was having breathing problems but after 1 pill of Diflucan I really had trouble breathing & went to ER Blood gas was 84 so kept me & suggested a change of pulminologists. That began a long struggle with an eventual diagnosis of ABPA and placed on prednisone...15 mg every other day.
Avatar m tn I've had a persistent yeast infection almost every month for nearly 3 years. I've had it tested over 5 times so I know it's candida with certainty. Diflucan sometimes helps for a short while, most of the time not at all. I'm trying it once more and thought maybe trying the miconazole suppositories a few days after the Diflucan may help. What's your opinion on this idea? Does anyone have any advice on recurrent yeast infections?
2118271 tn?1337463104 t changed an ounce since using Nystatin or Diflucan, makes me think this is not candida. Could this possibly be a bacterial issue that is more a nuisance than something to be concerned about?
Avatar n tn Just to be sure but nowhere in there did you mention being treated for candida? More antibiotics would only make it worse. Candida is yeast. Everyone, men and women, can get yeast infections or thrush. It is unlikely you got HIV with protected sex. Its a very low possibility, but you need significant fluid transfer. If you have not been treated, you may benefit from taking something like flucanazole (diflucan) for several days.
Avatar n tn My son seems to have candida, his partner has like terrible yeast infection, the URI came out negative. He began with irritation, blisters, rash on side of his face, anus, penis and groin area. Does Diflucan and a topical cream solve his problem?
Avatar f tn since then i have been to my gyno who cultured my yeast infection and said best medication for it was diflucan, so he also prescribed me to diflucan for 7 days-never went away. then he again prescribed me diflucan 150 once for 3 weeks. never went away!!! this is my first yeast infection so i dont know why diflucan will not cure me. i am 22 years old, smoke and drink on the weekends, work out regularly, work nights, recently pretty stressed.
14995219 tn?1437784271 I finally got a doctor to agree that it could possibly be candida, so he prescribed me Diflucan. LOTS of it. I took Diflucan for about 6 weeks when suddenly my symptoms started progressing like wildfire. I went from just having nausea, bloating, weight loss and fatigue to extreme stomach pain, and the scariest-passing out. I would get this feeling that fell over me in a wave leaving me so weak i felt like I couldn't walk. I got vertigo, shooting nerve pain, and constant leg muscle pain.
Avatar n tn I get alot of yeast infections. Is this normal with hepc and is it o.k. to take diflucan?
Avatar n tn No really recommended, but it helps eating plain yogurt or even apply it external helps treating yeast (candida) infection. Diflucan/Fluconazole is still your best bet. Plain Yogurt is the super sour tasting one with no sugar. Sugar helps those bacterias to grow, so stay away from the sweet stuff..
Avatar f tn However, antibiotics attack bacteria and can allow candida to become a problem. In bad cases of candida, a prescription anti-fungal (diflucan or nystatin...) is needed to kill the yeast, and a good probiotic helps re-establish the good bacteria in the gut. The prescriptions are not harmful and shouldn't be hard to get with a good knowledgeable doctor. In addition, garlic is a natural anti-fungal, and there are supplements in health food stores to help rid of candida.
Avatar f tn What may cause my white tongue ? I have a little hiatus hernia but my tongue is totally white in the morning and nothing indicates that this small problem could cause such havoc.I drink enough liquids during the day -I'm not dehydrated then. Can Candida infection , called systemic Candidiosis be a culprit of it? I have discomfort in my intestines-my stool is not quite firm.and also pressure in my ears [while b/p is 120/80] and I have dry cough as well.
Avatar n tn 5 weeks ago I had sex with a csw, condom broke and a few days later had a night sweat and I developed a candida infection in my tongue and about 7 days later also in my penis foreskin, a few days later the candida on my penis went away but Istill have some thrush, is that possible to be ars? now I have fungus infection on my penis too and Im on diflucan but that's not working at all, is that a early hiv symptom?
Avatar n tn Sometimes the topical agents can cause a dermatitis which mimics or is even worse than the candida itself. Another big advantage of the diflucan is that it treats systemically, and reduces the candida in the GI tract as well as the genital area. Usually diflucan is prescribed in a single dose. but there have been many occasions that I have had to use it for a week or even a month or so at a time.
Avatar m tn Hello, I had sex with a csw with preservative for about 3 minutes, didnt eyaculate or anything and about 6 days later I got trush and sore throad with lots of dry cough, I got tested at day 25 with duo test negative and now waiting for the 3 months mark, but Im having recurring balanitis and trush on my tongue wont go away, already took mycostatin, diflucan and dactarin and they always come back, Isnt it a bit early for these opportunistic infections to come?
Avatar n tn Unfortunately candida is not a named disease and effectively western medicine does not recognise or treat candida ( there are some treatments such as diflucan which treat yeast infections but as of yet not a western cure for systemic candida.) I have been taking a brand named 3-lac, however, you may find another to be more suitable for you personally, do your due diligence before choosing a supplement though to check if it is right for you.
