Avatar f tn What may cause my white tongue ? I have a little hiatus hernia but my tongue is totally white in the morning and nothing indicates that this small problem could cause such havoc.I drink enough liquids during the day -I'm not dehydrated then. Can Candida infection , called systemic Candidiosis be a culprit of it? I have discomfort in my intestines-my stool is not quite firm.and also pressure in my ears [while b/p is 120/80] and I have dry cough as well.
2118271 tn?1337463104 I have also used a natural antifungal before all this because I was suspicious I had a systemic candida condition (no doctor has been willing to test me for it, and the antifungals have gotten rid of my other symptoms. Is this thrush, or something else? What else can I take for resistant thrush if that is what it is? I take a high probiotic count, and I am suspicious i am allergic to diary ever since I had C.
Avatar m tn I told her that I have itchy anus and can feel that when I eat sugary food, I simply feel yeasty. I told her that I need a pill to treat systemic candida infection, as I could feel my digestive issues are related. She prescribed me Grifluvin V 500 mg which treats SKIN FUNGAL INFECTIONS.... NOT YEAST INFECTIONS. Im pissed. Could someone on here who has successfully dealed with this provide some insight please?
709686 tn?1277432159 sugar but is anyone experiencing anxiety due to systemic candida? Candida is an intestial yeast that we all have and when we consume too much sugar this yeast gets out of control, punches holes in our colon and releases toxins into our blood stream and can cause a wide range of health problems. Anyone else?
Avatar n tn Unfortunately candida is not a named disease and effectively western medicine does not recognise or treat candida ( there are some treatments such as diflucan which treat yeast infections but as of yet not a western cure for systemic candida.) I have been taking a brand named 3-lac, however, you may find another to be more suitable for you personally, do your due diligence before choosing a supplement though to check if it is right for you.
Avatar f tn Your normal bacterial flora in your intestines are getting unbalanced and/or you are losing some organisms due to the antibiotics. You should start taking probiotics. This will help get your normal bacteria back. But I would ask Metametrix if it will cause any problems with their test just to be sure. Also, you can take an oral antifungal but I wouldn't recommend it because they have bad side effects.
2118271 tn?1337463104 However, my gastroenterologist prescribed me Diflucan for Thrush, because Nystatin actually made it worse. I really hope it works. 2 weeks worth. In the mean time I am attempting to stomach Kefir and taking a probiotic supplement. Is this enough?
Avatar m tn What is the usual dosage for treatment of toenail fungus with Diflucan? My doctor prescribed it to me and it just seems to be different than normal. He said to take 100 mg/daily for the first 10 days of each month until it's gone. Is that a normal regimen?
Avatar f tn Get checked for Celiac disease and diabetes. Go to the healthfood store and get a good prebiotic or probiotic, odorless garlic. Stop eating sugar and junk food. Eat vegetables and lean meat. Eat whole fruits, not juice. Use neem soap. Use tea tree oil on your toe nails (this will take at least 3 months). You could take an antifungal pill, but it can damage your liver.
Avatar n tn I am currently being treated with Diflucan and Cipro for an existing yeast problem. I am taking Diflucan for 30 days and Cipro for 10 days. This will give me some relief for about three or four months and then I will need to treat the problem again. Questions: Should I change the Diflucan/Cipro time schedule or try different drugs? Any other suggestion would be very much appreciated. I should note that I take enzymes with each meal (Digest Gold and Fenol) Thanks for any help, Sam.
Avatar f tn I'm going through something similar. I don't have an answer for you, but some more data that might be useful in talking to your drs. When I started on abx about 18 mos ago, I noticed some fairly low level redness and itchiness in the vulvar area. Mentioned it to my LLMD but said I could tolerate it. It went on like that for about a year, taking abx and Florastor (which is a 'good' yeast [S.
Avatar m tn Acid or Alkaline?.... "Maintaining the correct pH in your gut is one of the most important things you can do to reduce your Candida overgrowth. The Candida yeast likes an alkaline environment, which is often brought about by a course of antibiotics or an excessively alkaline diet. One of the aims of the Candida Diet is to restore your gut acidity to the correct levels. The right dietary changes and a course of good probiotics will do just that.
Avatar f tn FYI the strains that are resistant to the usual antibiotics for yeast are Candida glabrata, Candida prapsilosis, Candida tropicalis, and Candida krusei. Sometimes these can be resistant to the stronger anti-fungals as well. So are you bedridden for so long due to chronic fatigue or pain or both. What is going on there?
Avatar f tn Hi...candida is yeast and it can cause all types of issues...DIFLUCAN is one of the best meds I know to help rid someone of excess yeast. There r also diet changes that can also help..... I am prone to yeast infections when taking antibiotics, and DIFLUCAN is the only thing that helps. As far as dosage, sorry I can not help...I would suggest asking a Pharmacist as they know meds and interaction and reactions better then most drs.
Avatar m tn Can Gastritis be caused by Candida? The reason I am asking is because I was exposed to needless antibiotics in an ER then my testicals turned red like a yeast issue, then I had 10 days of 4000mgs of Augmentin for a constipation/colon infection. Then after a week of concluding that I developed gastritis for the first time, and a thrush.
Avatar f tn Once I stop within a few days I feel terrible again. They prescribe diflucan for 14 days. Had it 6 x’s. Always comes back. No bacteria grows in urine. Avatar m tn I've had a persistent yeast infection almost every month for nearly 3 years. I've had it tested over 5 times so I know it's candida with certainty. Diflucan sometimes helps for a short while, most of the time not at all. I'm trying it once more and thought maybe trying the miconazole suppositories a few days after the Diflucan may help. What's your opinion on this idea? Does anyone have any advice on recurrent yeast infections?
Avatar m tn I am more convinced that we have a systemic candida infection. I have been able to remove the candida from my intestines and visually seeing it in the toilet bowl using unconventional methods that I'm not allowed to talk about here. (Several times) The problem is that some still linger inside my body. Either its in a dormant stage and waits till I let my guard down to flourish again or has some kind of exoskeleton that protects it from anything that tries to penetrate it to destroy it.
Avatar m tn ve had chronic yeast infections (4-6 a year) for about 3 years now. 2 years ago my doctor prescribed Diflucan and it worked well for a while (cleared up the infection right away). About 8 months ago the Diflucan stopped being as effective, and I would have to take one 150mg pill then followed by another 150mg pill 3 days later. For the past 6 months I've had a yeast infection that has not really gone away. I have relief for a couple days to a week max and then the symptoms returned.
Avatar n tn Hi Doctor, I already know about your stance on hiv and thrush but wish to get your opinion please. I have confirmed candida now for about 2 months. It is in my mouth, throat and moving with bowels. It is ruling my life at the moment with discomfort and stress. 13 weeks ago I had what started off as protected sex with the condom coming off me during/until finish. My penis was chafed as well. My last hiv test was negative at 13 weeks.
Avatar m tn Systemic candida infections are very hard to deal with but also aren't all that common. Most candida infections stay confined to the intestinal tract, and are more common in women than men. A specialist should be able to tell if you have a systemic candida infection or not; they shouldn't be guessing and giving you medication that kills off the very beneficial organisms that prevent candida from getting foothold in the body in the first place without diagnosing a yeast infection.
Avatar m tn - Would the chronic productive cough and recurrences of blocked nose that leads to shortness of breath be of matter of great concern such as systemic candidiasis or maybe Candida tracheobronchitis? - Do you think I should start treatment with ketoconazole tab? or stick to this nystatin drops?

Avatar f tn I have tried to nystatin a couple of times plus difulcan 150mg for 7 days over and over since the end of September and I am currently on diflucan 100mg for 30 days since January 29, 2015. Avatar m tn Can someone have systematic candida infection from performing oral sex without being HIV positive?
2118271 tn?1337463104 I'm freaking out that I have candida. Was wondering if anyone else has dabbled in this diagnosis or if this is just my imagination. I have a white coating on my tongue that mostly went away on Diflucan but has since slowly made its return back. Most of it brushes off, but more and more its staying there since the Diflucan. And brain fog... Is this anxiety? Am i just over worrying about something? I read about candida online but then the doctor says it can't be that.
