I know exactly what the bugs and the nits look and feel like. Please keep this in mind before you jump to conclusions.
About seven years ago, at age 20, I noticed flecks in my hair that weren't coming out like dandruff. I tried to pull them off and they were somewhat stuck to the hair shaft like a lice nit. I had four people check my hair, including my doctor, and no bugs were found. I never experienced itching either.
Fast forward seven years, and I still notice them sometimes.
You can treat flaking and dryness with over-the-counter dandruff or medicated shampoos. Shampoo the hair vigorously and frequently (preferably daily). Active ingredients in these shampoos include salicylic acid, coal tar, zinc, resorcin, ketoconazole, or selenium. But if your hair is colored, don't use products with selenium sulfide or sulfur.
If the symptoms persist, then it would be best to get it confirmed from a dermatologist and get fungal infections ruled out. Eat a healthy diet.
If you had head lice, you sometimes would find a little bug, but also would see white sugar looking grains on your hair near the scalp. These are called nits - these are the eggs of the head lice.
The flaky skin that you have coming down and falling on to your clothes, like Jessjess2014 says is called dandruff.
This can sometimes be caused by a fungal infection on the head. To treat this you would need a shampoo that also has antifungal properties.
So I've been having this yellow tube-like things sticking to strands of my hair. My hair is pretty long and very very thick. I think it's head lice, but I NEVER feel the little lice crawling in there, my mom checks my hair on a daily basis very frequently and she sees nothing. I do have dandruff every once in a while though. I admit they do look like head lice nits, but I'm not sure. I think it may be head lice and I'm getting some treatment shampoo tomorrow and trying it.
My four year old has been scratching her head (all over her scalp) for a few weeks now. At first I thought it might be lice, but I inspect her hair every few days and haven't seen any nits or lice. As an infant she had eczema, so I thought maybe it was that, but she doesn't have any redness or bumps on her scalp. I don't think it's dandruff because thereare no flakes. We wash her hair every night in the shower with kids shampoo and use regular adult conditioner.

I'm not surprised to hear that "The info on the Internet is confusing", There hasn't been much research on crab lice (crabs) or their transmission; most of what we know is based on clinical impressions, not systematic data.
That said, I am quite certain you don't have it. First, a massage parlor is an unlikely place to catch crabs, especially if they use fresh sheets and towels for each client (as you imply yourself).
The internet has many sites that say natural methods like mayonnaise, vinegar, and natural oils can be used to smother the louses and neutralize the nits. I would like for someone to share a real testimonial with me on how to defeat this agonizing pest, and I advise you to do your own homework on the subject and not waste hundreds and thousands of dollars on over the counter remedies.
but one of my hairs, which probably had a louse or nit came in contact with my pubic hair, and i saw eggs and found dead nits so i shave that area, not bald, but almost there. its very flaky down there, and i noticed white things in the opening of the vagina which wasn't on hair but skin. it could of , been flakes or toilet paper fluff, but im not sure. i feel crawling and biting all over my head near my ears and my body.
Hi, wondering if anyone has an answer for me. I used to get dandruff on and off and I used head & shoulders or others like it and it worked fine. This winter, however, my scalp has gotten extremly dry and itchy and flaky, and sore from all the scratching. I tried a bunch of more heavy duty OTC shampoos for dandruff, but none worked. I used an essential oils scalp massage and that worked for a bit. Now it is out of control and driving me crazy.
i have a 7 year old,who has nits,and every bit off her head is covered in nits and eggs,please i try so hard to take them out,but she searms as they hurt so much.the school are on my back as it is bad.now when i pull the eggs out her her is falling out.will all her hair fall out.i dont know what to do,as when i brush her hair it takes ahour to get the knots out.then i have to pin her down to try get nit comb in to get them out.i cant do it,what do i do.i dont want anyone thinking i not doing it.
Ok this is garrenteeed to work but it will sound crazy. Kerosene works no doubt. I had it as a child and my mom tried everything even quail shampoo from the Dr nothing worked. She heard about the kerosene and tried it and it worked. You can also do baby oil and leave it on for 3 days it's best to wear a shower cap. Plus remember you need to treat everyone's head and the entire house.
I did see bites on my inner thighs between my knee and my groin when I was first flatmate-diagnosed, and saw a total of 3 nits (eggs- 2 white 1 brown) on the side of and behind my knee before I shaved everything, but since then NOTHING. Besides doing the treatment, I have hot washed every article of clothing I have touched or worn even if only for 5 minutes, changing the bed sheets after every sleep, etc.
Use the medicated shampoos only twice a week and in between, use regular shampoos .It is necessary that frequent and vigorous shampooing with a mild shampoo may be done. Application of topical corticosteroids may also be done if the dandruff persists despite the shampooing.
Another differential may be telogen effluvium. This is a reversible phase wherein hair sheds in clumps at a given point in time. This usually reverts to normal spontaneously.
A dermatologic consult is necessary.
I believe what we all have is likely caused by Cheyletiella or Neocheyletiella mites. Likely from a rabbit, dog, or cat. I have struggled with these for three years now. Family thinks I'm making mountains out of molehills, and that i am overly sensitive. I've done so much research, i probably know more than most people would ever want to know about parasitic mites. what is the difference between addiction and dependence? I was reading another post and someone mentioned that he/she thought someone was dependent not addicted.. I'm just curious. Thanks in advance for any responses.
One medication may have been developed first and others later that are somewhat similar chemically and in the same chemical family but they may be completely different medications. I take Methocarb and that is prescribed for me to control dystonic spasms. It is an anti spasmodic. Meprobamate is an anti anxiety medication.
Any of these medications can be prescribed for other purposes as determined by a doctor or psychiatrist or other treating professional.
I tried similac and it didnt sit well with them. I know a lot of moms who used similac and were good with it.
