Avatar n tn I was so fascinated by the number of people who suffer with gastroparesis. I have diabetic gastroparesis. I have been diabetic for 34 years and developed this disorder 6 years ago. I had surgery on my hands and developed a complication called neuropathy. There are a couple of kinds. One is where you can't feel anything, like in your feet(that is why there are so many foot and leg amputations.) Some diabetics can't feel if they have a soar.
1524673 tn?1327845100 If you are tasting blood, I think you should be going into the ER if you are unable to get a same day appointment and start to get your ulcer problem addressed right away. You say you are very tired- did the doctor test you to see if you are anemic? You don't mention where the hernia is exactly, but that can be when there is a tear in the muscles/weakened muscle wall and the intestines bulge through that. Sometimes nowadays, they try a very conservative approach.

Avatar n tn I also felt the nausea and the pain worsened when hungry and after eating. I found a doctor who told me that I have a peptic ulcer and the reason that I am feeling so much in my back is because of my small frame. (5'5" 114lbs) He put me on Zantac and Carafate every 12 hours along with Claritin because I had a post nasal drip which he said was also irritating the ulcer.
Avatar n tn I buy the organic Amy's, Wolfgang Puck, Muir Glen and Imagine, and when they are on sale I stock up on them. They have a lot of nutrition and are easy on the stomach (except the Fire Roasted Vegetable one by Amy's-that's like pouring acid down your esophagus-and naturally that is my favorite one :). So, I try to eat low fat now but I continue to eat high-fiber and will as long as I am able to tolerate it. You said you have no nausea or vomiting from the GP.
Avatar f tn I wouldn't worry about adding the pumpkin as this lady does because you are doing this for only short term nutrition and not long term like the cat in the video needs....just keep the food simple..like a baby food meat..or some canned cat food that you add some water too...good luck. let us know how she makes out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?

Avatar m tn This is excellent way to open your eyes as to how much protein is naturally in whole grains and also there are lots of studies done on nutrition in this documentary. Also, the Dr. McDougall website is excellent and has a dietician you can talk to and chat groups and lots of people who have had diseases such as yours and recovered and give their testimonials. This is real data not just a fad diet. It is based on the China Study and many other years of study. Just wanted to let you know why.

Avatar n tn He has no pain, thus far, I believe because he is diabetic. He has had two massive heart attacks and never felt anything. Can we finally see a positive side to diabetes?? LOL Hospice is very helpful, I have worked with them with other family members. Do not hesitate to use them, if available. I am a newly graduated RN, but have seen enough to know that you should not hesitate to give pain medications to terminal cancer patients.... sometimes it is unbearable.
Avatar n tn The specific supplements I'm taking are both made by GNC (General Nutrition Corporation), but similar supplements are widely available. They're in capsule/pill form. The first one is labeled MSM/Glucosamine, and contains 500 mg MSM and 500 mg d-Glucosamine Sulfate. The second one is labeled TriFlex and contains 1500 mg Glucosamine HCL, 1200 mg Sodium Chondroitin Sulfate, and 900 mg MSM. I take each pill once a day.
Avatar n tn Where to start...........well back in 1967, I had a duodenal ulcer. A G.P precribed 3 X 5 mgs Sodium Amytal P.D ......& 3 X 5 mgs Valium! Are these addictive, No way, the only way you can hurt yourself is to jump in a vat full of tablets and drown..........OK, I took what he prescribed. The ulcer did not get better, I was a doped up zombie. That's OK for some, but I drive a truck for a living, and it is a tough job! I used to come home and sit in a chair just like a zombie.

Avatar n tn My wife thinks it's an ulcer. As a kid, my doctor told my mother that I had a bleeding ulcer. But I don't remember them ever running any tests on me. I was simply given Maalox and told to "relax kid." Anyway, I'm getting all sorts of advice from friends and family. A couple are in the medical field and my father in-law is a doctor... well an animal doctor. ;o) I think I'm going to try eating some yogurt before going to bed.
Avatar n tn She is a diabetic added to list. Hospice care took Mother off 10mg morphine yesterday afternoon. Mother became restless, wanted out of bed, tried to get out of bed, the thoughts of restraints crossed their minds last night. She is unable to rest comfortably, pulling at clothes, picking at body, tossing hands and arms, then breaking finally to sleep, when she can. Urine output is low, feet and legs are blue, body is swollen, but she will ralley to wake and see people as she has been able.
Avatar n tn The first thing that comes to mind and is a concern is whether you are diabetic or have you had your sugar checked? If you have sugar you can sometimes get an odor to your urine and if you have sugar/dibetes it can be a big factor as to why you get this in the first place so if your not sure get it checked.
Avatar m tn others in all types of pets with chemicals being the leading suspect for this increase. Of course nutrition, exercise, love & being part of your life is the best lifestyle you can provide any pet, after all they do deserve it. Rarely in life apart from family (most anyway) do we receive such unconditional love & friendship than we get from our pets. All the very best, whether you have 2 or 4 legs.

551343 tn?1506834118 I think my body is giving up the ghost and this is due to poor nutrition. So it's off to GP today. As you can see I'm not embarrassed to talk about anything. I've had bladder incontinence, bowel incontinence a few times. Pride becomes a thing of the past. I've always said I would help anyone in limbo as I hope nobody has to go through the hoops I've gone through.
