diabetes

Avatar m tn Diabetes may be associated with increased susceptibility to infections and reduced healing power and in a few cases may be associated with neuropathy and decreased vascularity that could lead to the formation of a diabetic ulcer. Management of a diabetic ulcer would involve adequate control of blood sugar level, prevention of further trauma/ extension and appropriate antibiotics in the situation of an infection.

Avatar f tn Five days ago, I went to the ER with severe nausea, fatigue, weakness and dyspepsia, along with right side abdominal pain which I felt predominantly under my right rib (sometimes radiating to my back). I'd been experiencing those symptoms for about 4 days. I developed a non-painful 'sensation'/fullness under my right rib a week before that, but had no other symptoms. So, it took about 2 weeks total before I hit the ER. Ultrasound of my gallbladder was normal.

Avatar m tn I woke up later that night at about 2am with severe stomach pain. The pain has become mild andcomes and goes. Could I have an ulcer?
Avatar m tn This is likely to be an ulcer with granulation formation. Management in such a situation is best discussed with his treating doctor and may consist appropriate measures of infection control such as antibiotics, debriment etc and control of blood sugar levels. Hope this helps. Take care!
539694 tn?1434565947 Okay i have a massive white ulcer in my mouth on the gum behind my bottom row of teeth almost virtically not quite in bottom of the mouth. Treatment pain is NOT a issue for me, when ulcers come i regularly press salt into them, bathe them with vinigar or alcohol these are all extremely painful but dont actually always numb it. Is there anything else i can do excluding going to get medicine?

Avatar m tn Hello, The pain and discomfort in the lower left part of the stomach could be due to peptic ulcer disease. Peptic ulcer pain is usually a burning pain. They commonly occur in the stomach and duodenum. Stomach ulcers cause pain on eating and duodenal ulcers cause pain on fasting (2-3 hrs after eating). Peptic ulcers are eroded areas in the lining of the digestive tract usually in the stomach and duodenum.

Avatar f tn In reviewing my medical records from my gastroenterologist it seems they keep bouncing between a diagnoses of "non ulcer dyspepsia" and "peptic ulcer disease". The non ulcer dyspepsia is a fancy term for ulcer like stomach pain without an ulcer and no clear cause. Then I occasionally do show up with peptic ulcers, which I thought were from accidentally taking a migraine medication that had aspirin in it...but I've never been checked for the pylori bacteria.
Avatar n tn After 2 weeks my infection is back. I am a type 2 diabetic and this has gone on for 8 months. What kind of test can I beg for to find the problem?
Avatar m tn Hi, this may or may not be true w/ your cat, but we had a cat that became a diabetic because of the steroid drug she was put on for some colon issues. I know that sometimes vets will use this drug to treat cancer in our cats, too. So, if your cat has been given a steroid drug, either by injection or pill, then this could very well be the cause of her diabetes. And, as soon as this drug is stopped, so will the diabetes. Best wishes to you. I know first hand how tough your situation is.
Avatar f tn Hello, As your husband is a diabetic and moreover there is a soft sore on the foot,so the possibility of diabetic foot is there. Diabetic foot is an umbrella term for foot problems in patients with diabetes mellitus. To prevent diabetic foot ulcers,he should have good foot hygiene, wear diabetic socks and shoes, and avoid injury.A consultation of a podiatrist will be the best. Take care and pls do keep me posted on how your husband is doing or if you have any additional doubts.
Avatar m tn It seems like that you should consult a doctor for your blood test (especially sugar for diabetes) and neurological assessment. Diabetes in long run is associated with diabetic retinopathy (gradual loss of vision), diabetic neuropathy (numbness in extremities) and sometimes teeth loss. However, few neurological or different medical conditions may relate to few symptoms. Please consult a doctor at your earliest convenience. Hope this helps.
526146 tn?1287442248 the pain is central in the stomach and above the belly button. The meds Im on are actually for an ulcer or excess acid and do help when taken - its a horrid pain!
Avatar m tn A mouth ulcer does not cause a sore jaw. Your sore jaw and swollen gland is likely to be from a viral or bacterial infection. Wisdom teeth that have a problem to grow out from the gum can cause swelling on the side of the mouth of the growing tooth and can cause painful jaw.
Avatar m tn s had gall stones knows. But they were always put down to the recurring ulcer, without even checking if I still had an ulcer... I was offered antidepressants and counselling! So now they're trying to persuade me I'm crazy. Long term pain can have a caustic effect on the personality when you're being dismissed! So I carried on on my own, treating my so called ulcer. About 10 years ago I started aching all over and getting short of breath, constant fatigue...
Avatar m tn Also by these therapies they have successfully treated many patients suffering for arthrities, cancer,Diabetic foot ulcer, stroke and many other disorders.
