Avatar f tn Hello, In my earlier post,I have mentioned some of the common causes of vomitings and nausea. As you have mentioned that your husband is a type-I diabetic,so possibility of diabetic ketoacidosis may be there. It is a state of absolute or relative insulin deficiency aggravated by ensuing hyperglycemia, dehydration, and acidosis-producing derangements in intermediary metabolism. http://www.emedicine.com/emerg/topic135.htm Did your husband get evaluated for his blood sugar levels in the ER.
Avatar n tn Hi Firenfire! I am not a medical professional, just the mom of a type 1 diabetic, so any information you receive here should be verified with your healthcare team. I have not had any experiences with a high bg being the result of too much caffeine, but perhaps others will share their experience with you. Sounds like you should head to your doctor's for some blood work based on the bg's that you've been having.
Avatar n tn After doing the last operation (last July), the doctor had asked me to walk on my heel to prevent any pressure on the ulcer. The ulcer had fortunately healed, but another ulcer has developed in my heel. This ulcer is still unhealed, I saw a neurology doctor, who examined my feet and found that I have already lost my sensation in my left foot (neuropathy).
Avatar m tn Hi, this may or may not be true w/ your cat, but we had a cat that became a diabetic because of the steroid drug she was put on for some colon issues. I know that sometimes vets will use this drug to treat cancer in our cats, too. So, if your cat has been given a steroid drug, either by injection or pill, then this could very well be the cause of her diabetes. And, as soon as this drug is stopped, so will the diabetes. Best wishes to you. I know first hand how tough your situation is.
Avatar m tn Hi, i was wondering if trapped gas can cause chest soreness, chest tightness, shortness of breath, stabbing pain which is severe enough to think you are having a serious heart problem. and if the answer is yes, how does one go about solving this trapped gas problem? Thanks.

I don't think MS is likely in your case in light of normal brain MRI and borderline findings on your evoked potential.
Avatar n tn But this can be confirmed only with an endoscopy. Both gastritis and peptic ulcer disease may cause pain in the upper abdomen. Peptic ulcer pain is usually a burning pain. They commonly occur in the stomach and duodenum. Stomach ulcers cause pain on eating and duodenal ulcers cause pain on fasting (2-3 hrs after eating). Peptic ulcers are eroded areas in the lining of the digestive tract usually in the stomach and duodenum.

Avatar f tn I also take an 81 aspirin. I have had a stomach ulcer since 1970 and the reason I could not take aspirin as a preventive measure was that it caused my ulcer to hurt and bleed. My mother had a massive stroke at 63 and her dad had several strokes at 65 so I know there is a genetic connection. I am afraid to come off the Plavix. My doctor said I needed to take it for at least the first year. What's the latest news on this please? I am very confused.
Avatar n tn If you are suffering from any of these you will have constant anemia, digestive problems, a duodenal ulcer can cause pain under your right rib, and the anemia will cause generalized aches and pains. A GI doctor or gastroenterologist or the doctor who looks after our gut is the best person who can help you with this. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Maybe you can seek another opinion from another doctor than the one you are currently seeing.

Either prescribed, over the counter, herbs, vitamins....any? Sometimes scar tissue can cause epigastric pain. How severe is the pain?

If you have been taking Byetta for diabetis it is very important to get treatment for that right away. I would say there is cause for concern but you are getting it checked out. I hope this helps.
