Depression causes yeast infections

Common Questions and Answers about Depression causes yeast infections

depression

Avatar n tn Yeast infections are usually caused by diet, sweat, or sexual intercourse. Wear loose clothing, and make sure that area is dry. You can put baby powder or gold bond in your undies or directly on the infected area. I wouldn't recommend silk underwear, it's known to rub badly against the skin. Stick with cotton. You can take a vinegar bath to help kill the yeast. Dillute the vinager with a little bit of water, and sit in it for twenty minutes. Vinegar is known to kill yeast.
Avatar n tn Unfortunately, some less knowledgeable sources--including some websites--are behind the times. The causes of recurrent vulvovaginal yeast infections are poorly understood. A few cases are triggered by antibiotics (but even that factor is less common than generally believed). Diabetes is controversial, but the main effect of that disease is not an increased frequency of yeast infections, but an increase in their severity.
Avatar f tn I've suffering from a bad yeast infection and I was wondering if depression and anxiety which I suffer from is a factor that lowers the immune system?
Avatar f tn There are several possible physiological causes for anxiety and depression, and should always be ruled out first. Now, they don't usually end up being the cause, but they could be, and some are very hard for docs to find. There are a group of psychiatrists who call themselves functional physicians, and before they get into any psychological diagnosis they act like physicians and rule out the most likely possible physiological causes.
Avatar f tn Stress hinders the body from recovering and encourages yeast growth.. and speaking of yeast infections I just getting over one (my last infection was in March). Last night was my last night on the miconazole and it's gone now. One thing I like to do when I start feel an infection arising (burning, itching) is to take my hand held shower head and clean myself real good with that, with water as hot as I can stand it.
Avatar f tn It definitely could be physiological, but that doesn't mean that's easy to find and diagnose. Things that could cause this are fibromyalgia, chronic yeast infections, chronic fatigue syndrome, hidden viruses, parasites, die-off of beneficial organisms, thyroid dysfunction -- so many possible causes that are all very hard to diagnose except by a specialist that really cares to exhaust the possibilities. But it's also completely aligned with depression.
Avatar m tn I recently had oral sex from my girl friend of eight months. this is our first sexual experience. i later got some marks on my penis which a doctor diagnosed as a red **** from vigorous oral sex. possible skin irritation but nothing to be alarmed about but it has been persistent.
Avatar f tn Did you get the yeast infection cream because your gynecologist said that you have a yeast infection? If you had the same symptoms when you saw him and he didn't find a yeast infection, there's very very little chance that you have one and you wouldn't get any good out of using the cream anyway. Also, if you do have one and the cream causes burning or pain, call and ask if your doctor wants to suggest a different cream or medicine.
1550149 tn?1340004330 Unusual infections include viral infections, parasites and other bowel infections, infections sensitive to long-term treatment with the antibiotics Cipro and Doxycycline (e.g. mycoplasma, chlamydia, Lyme’s, etc) and fungal infections. N- Nutritional Supplementation - The western diet is one of most highly processed and preservative-filled in the world which can cause nutritional deficiencies in people, another key contributor to FMS, CFS and MPS.
Avatar m tn Hello everyone; I have been diagnosed with depression since I was a teen, and nowadays I see it as a f***ing stigma. I started with panic attacks and depression, but I never felt "out of myself". However, at my late teen years and early 20's I suffered two big urinary tract infections due to my ****** kidneys at that time. Whenever I felt like having them my head would feel like numb, confused, and then after the antibiotics, I would feel clear in the head again. Last days Dec.
Avatar f tn Yep, they can get yeast and fungal issues just like we can. Babies get them!!! It's just a shift in your ph that causes an overgrowth of yeast. You can get them in your vagina, your mouth, etc. NOT a big deal. Not related to sex or being sexual. We can get them from taking antibiotics even. Really, not a big deal. Your mom will be like "congratulations--- you are one of us!". So, you are itchy with discharge? Have a little irritation and burning too?
Avatar f tn I have to make my way up to 100mg. Great idea on the yogurt because it's great for getting rid of bloat caused by yeast overgrowth as many of us women have in our bodies. Great tip!!! Great job on your weightloss results!!! Do you do any kind of exercise too? If so, what kind? I'm thinking about pilates and maybe taking up kickboxing as a stress reliever. I am so excited that my DR has put me on this (for migraines), i PRAY I'll get the loss of appetite side effect!!!!!
Avatar f tn I took 3 day Monistat and the symptoms went from urgency/frequency of urination to just urethral burning. I then became convinced I had an overgrowth of candida in my system (I have had yeast infections countless times since my teens, not to mention BV, my tongue is always white and furry, I cough up small white chunks sometimes and often have a bad taste in my mouth) so I convinced the clinic doc to give me Diflucan. She gave me one pill which helped, but it wasn't enough.
Avatar n tn The lack of magnesium causes problems with microcirculation and causes the blood vessels in the hands and feet to restrict - according to my GP. If you suffer from cold hands and feet it could well be this and supplementation with magnesium could help. It can also be caused by undiagnosed celiac disease. I've also heard that it's apparent in about 15% of people with CFS/ME.
Avatar f tn I was just wondering if anyone has been on birth control pills and have suffered from anxiety or depression issues? I have been on the pill for 11yrs now and cant take how I am feeling anymore. I went on the pill for irregular periods, but since then I have been feeling blah, libido has decreased severely, I have sinus problems- I found out I have no allergies- so I think it is related to axiety, I worry constantly about everything; I get so nervous I get light headed sometimes.
Avatar n tn And I did have a stint of thrush just after being on antibiotics for two infections. Since then, many strange things have occured and I am not feeling any better. My GP (well, I have seen more than one at the same practice and they all say the same thing) tells me that it is anxiety and depression that I have.
Avatar n tn No one has mentioned thusfar on this list that Candida (which causes yeast infections) thrives on sugar, not to mention that refined sugars lower your immune response. I have become sentitive to the fact that I even crave more sugar and bread when I have a candida imbalance...but then again, maybe it's the "infection depression" kicking in...So, obviously, unsweetened yogurt, or probiotic supplements would be a better choice. Herbal remedies: (oral tinctures, NOT for topical use!
Avatar n tn Candida Albicans is a yeast that lives in our intestinal tract. It is also the yeast that causes vaginal yeast infections. It is normal to have small amounts of Candida so the friendly and protective bacteria in our body called "Acidophillus and Bifidus" can use it as food. When something happens to kill off these friendly bacteria the Candida cells begin to multiply out of control.
Avatar m tn I am concerned because Im not getting just one symptoms Im getting alot. i have troubles sleeping, recurring yeast infections, muscle pain, my knees started hurting me,sometimes my right middle finger gets swollen and the joints hurt, my eyes sometimes go blurry(I do wear prescription glasses) Does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong with me?

I also been verybloated lately. I get nauseas. Im really scared pls someone give e an advice as on what i should do!!!!
Avatar n tn Lol they aren't *vaginal* yeast infections. They are yeast infections in the skin rash, which occurs in several places on my body (under arms, on chest, a few spots on face). Every time I see a new doctor for whatever reasons, I always tell them about The Rash, hoping maybe someone, somewhere, will know what to do about it, but the most anyone has been able to do is give me oral antifungals, which work for a few months only.
Avatar n tn even though vulvadynia will cause cuts and sores as well. I have a feeling it's yeast. I get yeast infections 4-5 times a year now for the last 2 years... but the rx yeast medication that I had to insert really burned and did nothing to releave my symptoms... so we had to rule out STD. My Gyno did another PAP today to see if I've cleared the High Risk HPV. He suggested that the HPV was the cause of my Vulvadynia symptoms and that the Aldera cream may have helped clear the HPV.
1161803 tn?1262892733 These include poor oral hygiene, fungal infections on the tongue or in the mouth area, endocrine disorders like diabetes, hypothyroidism and cushing’s disease, anxiety, hepatic and renal causes and neurologic causes. I sincerely advise you to consult a physician/neurologist and get yourself evaluated for these. The cracking at the end of the lips can be due to angular cheilitis for which I again suggest you to consult an ENT specialist. I hope it helps.
Avatar n tn I had been hospitalized for a terrible ear infection and had surgery about 9 months ago, and everything started to go wrong. First the anxiety attacks started, then the yeast infections, the infected belly button and the most recent...icy hot sensation around my abdomen. I get them from time to time and sometimes I also feel like there is something moving inside my intestine and stomach (I am not pregnant). It feels as though I am always hungry and I can't explain what is going on.
Avatar m tn The most common culprits are caffeine, chocolate, beer, nuts, dairy products, and spicy food. Infections such as pinworms, yeast, and genital warts can cause itching. Hemorrhoids, which cause painful swelling of blood vessels in the anal area, can cause itching. Cancer, in rare instances, may be a cause.' There are certain factors which predispose to the risk of developing anal itching as a symptom.
Avatar m tn org/wiki/Pearly_penile_papules The appearance of PPP is striking. Bacterial/fungal infections can some-times produce white spots. A correct diagnosis can be mad e only on examination.
Avatar f tn The gyne at the hospital cannot see any reason for the itching, with also causes vaginal dryness and feels very uncomfortable/sore sometimes. I quit smoking, exercise regularly and have impeccable hygiene. I even gave up yeast in food for a while and take lots of vitamins now. It can’t be a yeast infection though because that would of shown up on a test by now. Lots of normal treatment for fungal infections completed and 2 types of steroids.
Avatar n tn do you mean that they tested you for yeast and bacterial infections vaginally too? Discharge with a herpes ob does happen sometimes but it's good to rule out other causes too. Did they give you medication for the herpes?
Avatar m tn Given the fact that have not mentioned involvement of the penis now makes me think that it most likely is not yeast. I have had numerous yeast infections due to the following reasons. I have got it from my wife and we kept passing it on to each other untill we both got treated at the same time. The other reason is that I come down with UTI and kidney infections frequently. This is treated with Cipro and antibiotic, which causes the needed bacteria in the digestive tract to die.
Avatar m tn I use to get chronic yeast infections and it seems with every yeast infection or when I sweat too much I get this bump on right side of my vagina near the groin area and where hair grows. In the exact same spot each time I have a yeast infection. It's very tiny and heals when the yeast infection clears. It's a small as a needle's head and sensitive maybe because the area is aggravated. I've had it for years and never suspected herpes.
