Depression causes night sweats

Common Questions and Answers about Depression causes night sweats

Avatar n tn Dear Kelley Night sweats can occur from several causes such as tuberculosis, thyroid problems, anxiety disorders, posttraumatic stress disorder etc. Eventhough night sweats can occur in anxiety disorders, I would recommend that you first consult your physician for a comprehensive evaluation to rule out any medical causes that may be contributing to the symptoms and then consult a psychiatrist for adequate treatment.
Avatar n tn Hi. There are many causes of night sweats, including infections, idiopathic hyperhidrosis, and some medications. Has your blood glucose level been determined? Hypoglycemia can also present with night sweats, as do some endocrinologic disorders such as hyperthyroidism. An autonomic neuropathy is also possible and can be secondary to diabetes, autoimmune disease, surgical or traumatic injury to nerves, etc. You should talk about this to your physician. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn I have been having terrible night sweats for 4 months. I can't tie that date to having started any new medications. I have tried to research all the medications I am on and to date have not figured out which one is causing the night sweats. Do you have any ideas for additional resources where I might be able to find an answer? Or do you know if any of these medications cause night sweats? Will they eventually go away or is there any treatment?
Avatar m tn I called my doctor today and the assistant said the results would not be ready until the end of the week. I know that one of the causes of the night sweats could be cancer and if it was in my G I that might explain the anemia and the indigestin. I don't want to over exagerate my concern, but if there is some sort of cancer would waiting a week or two or three affect it treatability? This is a new doctor, but I usual give people the benifit of the doubt...
Avatar n tn checking the cervical fluids- I think my night sweats are related to when I ovulate! Ovulation causes a huge change in your hormones- last night I had all the fertile signs & had that monthly dull ache in my ovaries. In the morning, I woke up with soaked sheets.
Avatar f tn Hello, I started cipralex for anxiety and depression about a month ago, and have been experiencing horrible night sweats. I wake up completely drenched and shaking, and am weak and exhausted in the mornings. I already have very low blood pressure, and this removes important salts, electrolytes, and liquids from my system and makes me dizzy and exhausted.
Avatar m tn Before diagnosis, about two years ago, I had gone many years with night sweats. Not every night, but a series of night several times a year. Now that I'm on treatment, I still get them but there's a more acceptable reason. I've never known any way to avoid them (aspirin etc) but I was not able to accurately forecast them either.
Avatar f tn I honestly didn’t feel much better. Still exhausted as always. And then I started to develop night sweats 2 months later. But I was also sick with a sinus infection and some kind of throat infection. I have been on so many antibiotics this year it’s not even funny. But ever since then I have had night sweats for about 2-3 times a week. I told my doctor and he recommended I see an infectious disease doctor. I saw him about a month after which was the soonest they could get me in.
Avatar n tn I take black cohosh and it seems to help a lot, but not so much with the night sweats. Now the anxiety and depression? Well that is just downright ridiculous. I hate it. It has made me anti-social. And now I am starting with insomnia. I hate menopause.
4753943 tn?1359938169 i know after a week of not sleeping well from my detox, but feeling ok (depression wise) from it, I finally slept last night for 10 hours and DID NOT feel refreshed at all. I felt depressed today from feeling SO TIRED. not suicidal, just completely frustrated. I fear that I will never be able to work full-time while exercising eating right etc etc. I decided a few months ago that I will actively try everything I can.
20413403 tn?1497316237 I go to bed very late, have very intense dreams and often nightmares, and I average about six hours of sleep a night. Sometimes I get night sweats as well. I see a psychiatric nurse practitioner for bipolar 2 but she was puzzled as to why I do this at night. She only could recommend that I eat more protein before I go to bed. As far as my nutrition goes during the day, it is up and down.
Avatar n tn I stopped taking them 3 days ago and now am having cold sweats, shaking, moodswings, insomnia and SEVERE DEPRESSION/PANIC/ANXIETY. To relieve some of these symptoms I started to take 1/2 pill 3-4x/day. I am no longer experiencing the shaking but still have the depression/panic. I have just started a new job and feel that I don't want to or can't do it. It comes and goes numerous times throughout the day and is so overwhelming I have to force myself not to just walk away from the job.
Avatar n tn i do know that xanax can cause some careful with that drug..u dont need a new doc....also narcotic wd causes this..for me i felt great for a week or so after detox.then fatigue and depression set ready for any mood as they may change alot right now..this is why aftercare is so important...for me it was good days and bad days, then more and more good days after a while...everyone has bad days tho...not just addicts in recovery..

Avatar f tn I was just wondering if anyone has been on birth control pills and have suffered from anxiety or depression issues? I have been on the pill for 11yrs now and cant take how I am feeling anymore. I went on the pill for irregular periods, but since then I have been feeling blah, libido has decreased severely, I have sinus problems- I found out I have no allergies- so I think it is related to axiety, I worry constantly about everything; I get so nervous I get light headed sometimes.
Avatar n tn The lack of magnesium causes problems with microcirculation and causes the blood vessels in the hands and feet to restrict - according to my GP. If you suffer from cold hands and feet it could well be this and supplementation with magnesium could help. It can also be caused by undiagnosed celiac disease. I've also heard that it's apparent in about 15% of people with CFS/ME.
Avatar n tn Does anyone have any idea as to what causes this condition to begin in the first place? I'm very frustrated by suggestions that it "must be stress" in the absence of an obvious physical cause. I know myself well, and stress is not the answer, nor is caffiene, alcohol, etc. Could a virus have triggered this? If so, is this type of condition generally life long, or time limited? I somehow feel either hormones or a virus must be the underlying culprit.
Avatar n tn I have night sweats, hot flashes, depression. I am currently on zoloft for about 2 months, just increased the dosage to 100mg. 2 weeks ago, and still get the night sweats it seems when I am upset. Is it anxeity/fear or premature menopause? I am 36 years old, they started lightly 2 years ago along with acne (hot flashes). My periods are pretty normal. I have restless sleep, from waking up 2 to 3 times a night to lateley only getting 3 to 4 hours sleep at times.
Avatar n tn Night sweats can be due to a lot of different medical problems, rather than stress. He should go to a medical doctor and have a physical exam. So should you, and tell the doc about your boyfriend's symptoms.
Avatar n tn Anybody else on Zoloft and have terrible night sweats? I take 100 mg daily. I feel great while on this, but the night sweats are making me think I have some underlying health problem!
Avatar m tn Currently plan appears to be to wean her off all the high end pain relief. On one hand, I agree - she was in cold sweats last night, possibly withdrawal symptoms from the pain meds, but on the other hand, now she's in much more acute pain than before (if that were possible) I still feel that they have missed something as other people I have spoken to online that have had a shunt put in, were up and about in a few days - no one appears to have gone on with such severe pain.
Avatar n tn Thank you for visiting the Family Practice Forum It does not sound like cancer to me. CMV can be present following viral illnesses such as Mono. Many people after a bout of Mono can have symptoms such as aches and pains and even intermittent "sweating". (and understand, in many cases, even if infected with a virus such as mono, one may not feel particularly "sick").
Avatar f tn I am a 37 year old female who has been having severe fatigue, unexplained weight loss, depression, fevers daily, sometimes over 102 at night for weeks, night sweats, extreme weakness, loss of apetite and body aches, I went to doctor, had a WBC of 20,000 and then was sent for a Peripheral Smear Blood Test last week, I feel like I am getting sicker by the day, but have no flu symptoms like sore throat or cold symptoms, what would my doctor be testing for?
Avatar m tn Also, if you're alternating between constipation and diarrhea, it may be IBS. There are many causes for night sweats, you may want to see your doctor to rule out any other problems before assuming it's anxiety. Take care...
Avatar f tn I've developed a cyst during taking abilify after about 12 months and currently experiencing excessive sweating and night sweats , sore throat in the mornings, and fever on occasion.I've recently stopped the medication. The sore throat in the morning has gone away but sweating excessively and night sweating persists it's been a few weeks since I stopped abilify.
Avatar n tn , but my resting heart rate is 85-105 and the thyroid tests come back normal. I've never felt this sick and exhausted before. I also have night sweats, terrible joint pain and sensitivity to light, heat and cold. Any clue what's going on here? Thank you. LauraDawn.
Avatar n tn David, David, David... Please tell us how we can help you. Obviously confirming and re-confirming ad nauseum that you are HIV- has not been sufficient. 1) Your risk for HIV from the exposure you describe was near zero. It was just about the safest sex you could have. 2) What infitessimal risk you did have was eliminated by your negative HIV tests in January. Ergo, you are definitely HIV-. 3) Since you are HIV-, your symptoms CANNOT be due to HIV, regardless of what those symptoms are.
Avatar m tn I feel like could spend forever in bed, yet i dont sleep well. I am waking every night with drenched sheets from chronic night sweats (which i have never had before ever). Bruises all over me. I've always had darker circles under my eyes but at the moment its really bad. I plan to see a dr but then again, i'm expecting to put in the "too hard catergory" and told its a viral bug or something. Any suggestions?
Avatar n tn No - that's wrong and I take that back - it was supposedly a friend to me for about 5 years and turned on me - in so many ways - I have had the black cloud hanging over me since the day after I took my last Tramadol - having to endure a few days without being able to see my doctor gave me an insight into how much it had controlled my mood and gave me the illusion that all was good - as soon as I didn't have it I became so depressed - and I knew it was withdrawal - having other symptoms like t
