Avatar n tn I have never known anything to affect me emotionally the way infertility has, and I think it takes more than getting pregnant to heal the years of pain, depression and frustration it causes. Rejoice in your pregnancy and your pregnant body. Make sure that you share your feelings and reach out for help after you deliver too, in case you have the baby blues.

Avatar f tn It is heartbreaking to read the pain and suffering we are all going through. I have been doing battle with major depression since the age of 13. I am 55 now, so I can easily relate to most here. I feel the absolute truth in what people are saying. I come here to learn how other people cope, what they have tried, not tried, and why. But I have questions. How did we as a group of depressed individuals get to be so huge in number? Why are there so many of us? This in itself is depressing.
Avatar f tn I am so sorry that your depression is untreatable, and with all those ECTs it has not improved. I presume no anti-depression medication has been effective in your case either. I presume you have tried them all. You certainly don't sound pathetic, I admire you for being such a fighter. Seems the doctors and psychiatrists have given up on you. Well I do not know what to suggest you do next, seems to me you have tried so hard.

209591 tn?1267418314 From The sound of it you're having some really bad depression. Chronic pain can deffinately cause depression. I have RSD and other problems that cause me a lot of pain. They cause some depression problems for me. If you are in a lot of pain all the time and it isn't being treated good enough it can deffinately cause some SERIOUS depression problems. That's the story of my life. Also stopping some medications can cause depression. It is a common side effect of withdrawls from many meds.
Avatar f tn one who has your best interest at heart. It sounds to me like you are depressed which causes us to not want to do anything, sleep a lot, have no motivation to do anything, and physically hurt. Make an appt. to see a psychiatrist so the two of you can decide the best course of treatment for you. I recommend a psychiatrist because they are most knowledagble with the kinds of medication to treat depression. We're close in age and I agree that your body shouldn't hurt like that.
Avatar n tn Is there anyone out there that also feel that taking oxycodone causes pain in your sipnal cord from neck to lower back. My pain felt like someone had beat my spinal cord with a baseball bat. I would take the oxycodone, pain would go away, until I ran out or tried to stop taking the medication. I have heard from friends that Oxycodone will cause back pain; I am wondering if I have been taking this drug for pain, when the pain was actually created by my medication.

2010625 tn?1329375656 I think if there is a way to support the research of fibromyalgia that we should as it is very important, to figure out the causes, and ways to find better treatments. I know at one point I was in so much pain without any pain medication, that it caused me to have an episode of dissociation. I really hope that the medical community figures it out soon, as there are so many people suffering, and will continue to suffer until they do.
Avatar n tn Other symptons I have are numbness on the left side, headaches, and middle chest pain. Are the meds I am taking a good combination? Are there other types of meds that might work better? In your opinion is it all the medication or the high blood pressure causing my symptons? I do exercise, have cut salt from my diet; and have lost weight. I have never smoked and all my blood work is normal. I had a heart cath and have no blockages but do have dilated cardiomyopathy.

618210 tn?1223930565 However, emergency room hospital visits are on the rise. Ecstasy causes the release of norepinephrine, which increases your heart rate dramatically and can be dangerous for people with cardiovascular disease or weakness. Dehydration can also lead to liver or kidney failure. Some people report bad emotional reactions to Ecstasy including confusion, depression, sleep problems, drug craving, severe anxiety, and paranoia, sometimes lasting long after taking the drug.
Avatar n tn My thought, and have read confirming opinions, is that the vagus nerve is getting stimulated by the abdominal muscle contraction and sending the signal to the heart. The vagus nerve runs between heart and stomach and controls heart rate by slowing it down. A signal spike from the vagus nerve is probably responsible for PAC's and missed beats. My MD says that I have high vagal tone, which to me means that it doesn't take much stimulation to produce heart arrythmias.
Avatar n tn This sounds to me like a depersonalization disorder this is a disorder in which a sufferer is affected by persistent feelings of depersonalization or derealization.. The most common causes of the disorder are severe stress, depression and panic, marijuana and hallucinogen ingestion. Since your MRI, blood work, and vision tests were all normal then that rules out any neurological or other physical disorders that could cause these symptoms.
Avatar f tn i was admitted to hosp last week for same pain ive had ecg stress tests tests on my heart tests for clots and everything clear. i had a deep burning pain out my chest and upper back and they told me at the hospital it was a bad dose of acid reflux. now i am on a waiting list to get a camera into my tummy to see whats going on. ive suffered with acid b4 but not as bad as this one.
Avatar f tn Sometimes I have body aches that make me feel like I have the flu. I also have a dull pain in my left jaw and sometimes pain radiating down my neck. My doctor has run several tests including thyroid function, glucose, and some neurological studies. Everything comes back perfect, but I still feel bad. Could this be a heart condition? Should I be more pro-active by seeking out a cardiologist on my own? There is a lot of cancer, diabetes, and heart disease in my family.
Avatar f tn BUT I am also going through grieving my abusive husband with our separation, his attempted suicide, numerous no contact breaches and court procedures. So if depression causes ear problems I would be happy to know that because then it would make sense why I am feeeling worse lately. I hate not knowing what it is. Could being choked cause long term effects like this? With the symptoms I described....what tests should I take? What could it likely be? Please help me.

Avatar n tn acutally suggested use of Hydrocodone for depression. The pill is not meant for depression... it counteracts how our bodies feel pain. Does nothing theraputic about the pain... just how our brain receptors manage the pain. I'd really like to talk to your Dr.. for a few mins... Holy Crow! Can't get over that he actually told you it could be used for depression. Just do a google...
Avatar f tn this wont go away over night, life does go on and you have to fight through the pain bc time will heal the pain and heartbreak you are feeling....It takes time, you invested time with him you are a human being, ofcourse u miss him, ofcourse ur in pain and depressed. Avatar f tn To make matter so much more fun for me, I have been in a severe depression for the last 2 years and after my husband had a heart attack in Jan., he went into his own depression and takes his anger out on me, so I don't speak much except to encourage him and try to support him.
Avatar n tn I too had been prescribed vicoprofen for extreme back pain, probably 3-4 years ago, then one day I discovered it did more than just alleviate the physical pain I was feeling it also performed the function of self medication for my depression. The pain, by the way, has been gone for many years, although I do still have verifiable back deterioration with cat scans, etc. to prove it, so it is not difficult for me to go to a doctor and obtain what I want.
2033435 tn?1329947108 In the last 3 weeks I can hardly get out of bed and I can't pinpoint if it's just laziness, depression-related or a hypo symptom. I know hypo causes depression and no one really knows if it's egg or chicken paradox etc. I feel bad about feeling this way and sometimes I feel that in fact I am a lazy bum using this as an excuse. I am kind of going crazy with these feelings and it would help to understand if it's normal.
Avatar m tn My wife does not/cannot understand how much pain and turmoil I am in. I am trying so hard. Lastly, I know the reason for my depression, but cannot come to any resolution. My parents abandoned me when I was very young and to this day have never been a part of my life. I started emailing and calling them recently. However, both, for some reason unknown to me, have again decided to have nothing to do with me. The rejection, even at 41 years of age, hurts more than I can take.
Avatar f tn I have anxiety issues (fluttering in upper stomach, pain in arms and tingling in hands), but I am NOT depressed. After normal stress test and echo and heart monitor testing, my doctor gave me (about a year ago) a one-time prescription for lorazapam but told me it was addictive and to take it only as needed. Soooooooo ...... I try not to take them, but when I do, I only take one-half of the .5mg tablet. I still have most of them left, because I just try to fight my way through the symptoms.
Avatar n tn There's about a 100 reasons for dizziness, so you should rule out some serious medical problems before a dx of depression. I would push for an MRI if I were you. If your doctor won't write the script, go to a different one. For your own peace of mind you should get things ruled out.
