depo-provera

Avatar n tn I have been taking the Depo Provera injection for 3 years. My next one is due on the 1st December, but I will be in Italy. I am in Italy at the moment and I am coming back on the 20th. I need to know if I can get the depo when I am back (22nd December) The 1st of Decmeber will be 12 weeks since I last had it. I am not currently engaging in sexual activity, and don't intend to until I come back to the UK, as that is where my boyfriend is.
Avatar n tn I have been on the Depo-provera for 10 years. I'm 27 now and have been married for 2 years. My next one is due on the 14th Feb 2012 the only time i have bleed was when I had cell's removed after another bad 'smear' test. I really want a baby my husband has 5 kids but we dont see them much (not out of choice!) Iam really scared now that I'm not going to be able to have a baby and wont beable to be the wife I want to be....
Avatar f tn Hi, I am 47 and have been on depo provera for 8 years until this year when my gp told me I would have to come off of it. My last jab was in April and since my next one was due in July my gp offered me the iud or the hormone implant. I wanted neither. The reason I went on the depo was due to the horrendous back pain I had 2 weeks before AF was due and this carried on to up to a week after I finished my period.
Avatar f tn The fact you say you were on the injection, i'm taking this to be depo-provera, i think your in for a long wait. I was on depo 2 and a half years and have now been off of it the same length of time and have yet to conceive and i blame this contraception 100% for not having conceived. My partner and i have been for tests and all have come back clear, we are now on the IVF waiting list which is up to a 3 year wait.
Avatar f tn I have never had the coil, but for many years I used Depo Provera as a method of birth control. About a year before we started ttc I went off of it. All of my adult life I have been very regular, but for 3 or 4 months after stopping Depo, my cycle was all over the map. It was crazy. Super heavy, lasting just a day or two, stopping and starting, heavy spotting in between, you name it. It was just my body regulating itself and after a few months things returned to normal.
Avatar f tn Two days after the encounter, I went to my GP and asked for the morning after pill which she was happy to give as well as a three month Depo-Provera shot as birth control. For a day, all was well. And then I developed a terrible sore throat. I went back to my GP and she prescribed me with Penicillin antibiotics for my throat, as she said I had tonsilitis (my right tonsil was particularly inflammed) which healed the infection very quickly.
Avatar n tn i have noticed this problem for at least a couple of years and initially my doctor thought it was because i was in depo provera and had abnormal bleeding all the time. i have been on the pill for over 7 months and my periods are back to normal except after this occurrence following orgasm. in april i had an abnormal pap smear that indicated i had HGSIL (high-grade intraepithelial lesions) of the cervix.
Avatar f tn Hello Ladies, I am back again. I had my 3rd laparoscopy to the endometriosis specialist last Oct.2014. I don't know if my pain is connected to endometriosis. Avatar f tn Went back to Dr in Jan (5 days from end of my first pack) and she told me she wanted to put me on the injection - Depo Provera. So I accepted. She gave me the injection on 10th Jan, I was taking still my final 5 pill of the pack. The bleeding stopped for these five days but when I finished the pill I started spotting again on just the Depo. Spotting for one week then by the second week it turned into a full on period which got heavier by the day.

Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with a fatty liver after taking depo provera - which is a third world injectable progestin (synthetic progesterone) - it causes full blown osteo in 19year olds. Very dangerous - all kinds of court cases - Pfizer. So, a Naturopath v.s multiple surgeries now seem to be the path I am going down. Your exhaustion may well be core toxicity, neurotransmitters which are out of balance and low projesterone and a weak thyroid.
362408 tn?1236444681 My first one was hormonal related, I had been on depo provera for 8 years. I thought I was lucky because I got pregnant about 3 months after coming off of it (December 2006), but my hormones were not at a point that my body could sustain the pregnancy. Five months later I had to have my gallbladder removed, so maybe it was God's way of telling me there was something else wrong with me that needed to be taken care of first.
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed some time ago and since then I have been on a series of birth control; all forms i.e...the patch,nuva-ring,depo-provera, and just about every pill you can think of. Not only did they not work but they caused the worst side effects and I am not allergic to anything. I have been controlling my diet for some time now watching my carb intake and was on glucophage for a while with no results.
377493 tn?1356505749 Convinced that I wanted no more children, I got on the depo provera shot as soon as I stopped breast feeding. After a year of that, when my daughter was two, I changed my mind. It took us nearly 4 years to conceive again. After my first OB appointment I was diagnosed with cervical cancer. My doctor wanted me to abort and have a hysterectomy. I couldn't. I wouldn't. I prayed continuously, every test said the cancer was worse, but I had profound peace.
Avatar f tn I found out just last year before my surgery for fibroids that my uterus wasnt expelling fluid. I just realized that having had a colpo, and having been on the depo provera for over ten years that it could be a cause of this. It gives me comfort that im not alone in this, I also have hope in my heart again....that ill be able to get pregnant. Naturally. Does anyone know what we can do non medically for this?
1230912 tn?1273496370 Extavia, Depo-Provera Topiramate, Tramadol Those are what I consider my pertinant information at the moment - what do you guys think? If I were to do a bracelet with only 4 lines would you just take out the "medications" line? What do you have on yours if you have one?
8256587 tn?1399901106 Endo wants me to undergo a gastroscopy and to think about taking Depo-Provera contraceptive injections. Symptoms are to me not from anemia as they consist of heavy periods, orthostatic hypotension (blood rushes when standing from sitting) and cramping in legs when walking. Symptoms that have now gone: constipation, depression, fatigue, cold intolerance. I have now eliminated gluten and dairy in its entirety. I had an abnormal urine sample which showed leukocytes (white blood) and protein.
Avatar n tn I am 17, I'm on depo provera. I have only had 2 shots, I jus got my 2nd one monday. Everytime since september 6th, I bleed during n after sex. Me and my boyfriend were both tested and were both clean of STD's. Also I had a 2 weeks period in october and the day after my period ended, I started spotting. My period started october 7th and stopped the 21st. The day after my period (the 22nd) I started spotting and I have been spotting dark brown ever since and it is now the 28th. I'm really scared.
1636472 tn?1439186588 I have a story similar to JessWishes2 except I took Clomid for 6 rounds (though took a 3 month break in between). JessWishes 2 lives in the UK so that might be why they only had her do 3 rounds, though I'm not sure. I did 3 rounds at 50 mg and was quite moody and had hot flashes and sore breasts but did not conceive.
Avatar n tn Hey, well i was in the same situation until last month which was the 1st time i had my period from April, i was perscribed Provera, to bring it on and it did, but i'm trying to have a baby, My gyno has perscribed me clomiphine to stimulate the ovaries, all i know is after taking the provera i had really bad peroid pain and it came back with a vengence, I have a really good gyno and if u are trying to concieve, i've been through a lot of pelvic ultrasounds (internal) cause it's the best way to se
Avatar n tn I thought about something when I read it b/c I just bought a laser scanner hair remover (from UK) and I just told my daughter yesterday that I feel like I get a oozie weird feeling when it's on, but that I thought it was just in my head since I have been feeling this way often lately anyway. But, it seems like to me I get this wave of dizziness when it is in use. Do you think this is considered an electronic? Also, we have computers running all the time.
Avatar n tn She might not be american? I'm from UK, in 18, married and am currently living in my second house with him. (Our own) I am a qualified ballet teacher and a qualified hairdresser. I moved 140miles away from my family last year as my HUSBAND is in the army. We own a 3bedroom house in LONDON and are doing very well for ourselves. Infact, I wouldn't have to work if I didnt want to.
280700 tn?1210287416 I also took clomid 50mg last month and never ovulated, so the cycle was a bust and the doctor prescribed Provera again casue it could be some time before i get my period. He upped my dosage to 100mg and i'm on day 3 today of clomind. I'm basically taking clomid cd 2-6 as the specialist wanted and then he will start monitoring me on CD 9. I'm also getting IUI done so hopefully tis would help but if I don't ovulate then this cycle would be a bust also. I'm crossing my fingers as well.
298579 tn?1192250448 The only thing I have seen that helps the pain is an herbal wrap that you heat up(you can get them @ walmart), and I lay that on my stomach. I have been on the depo shot for four years, I have asked if this is a contributing factor and have been told no. I have no kids. I hope someone comes up with an explanation, because I am too young to be giving up on my sex life!
Avatar n tn I have been TTC for 4 months (this is currently our 5th), DH is 30 and I'm 28. Have been off Depo Provera Shot for 14 months and been having irregular periods for 10 months now. My cycle length varies from 12 - 20 days. I'm currently sitting at CD22 with no period, no cramps, bloating, or any of the AF symptoms I'm used to. Have been using OPK because of the irregular cycle length & this month ovulated on CD5 while I was still spotting from AF!
