depo-provera

Avatar n tn Now, these don't sound like it could be tied in with the depo but that's when it started. 8 months into my depo shot and I never had this problem before. I've been to different doctors. I am now currently seeing a urologist and he said that I have an elarged bladder. I never had that problem either. I finally got off the depo shot last October but I have got to know, could this be tied into my depo shots? Could that be what caused all of this?
Avatar n tn I have been on depo for 11 years. I would be due for my next shot on 9/27 but my Doctor has advised that I stop having it. She has been treating me for migraines and depression with Imitrex (when needed) and a daily dosage of Prozac of 10mg. The Imitrex thankfully, works, and the migraines have also been lessened by the Prozac.
315867 tn?1193593448 Have faith. I was on depo for a year and got pregnant while I was still on it. Keep trying and good luck!
Avatar m tn In the spring of 2012 my wife started the birth control shot Depo Provera as a treatment for fibroid tumors. The side affects were terrible. She went from being someone with boundless energy to being tired all the time. She went from having a very healthy sex drive to having none at all. She gained about 75lbs, despite having and continuing abnormally healthy eating and exercise habits. Even her personality changed.
Avatar n tn I was wondering what was happening to me and I see that you had a very smiliar experience with Depo. My Depo is supposed to exprire in May and I have no intention to get another one. I had no period for a month, then after an intercourse I started spotting and then that turn into bleeding light with that brown thing coming out smelling like dead or something really bad. I was so worried that I wanted to go see a doc.
Avatar n tn )?) thanks a lot:) Dear Jennifer: Depo-Provera injections provided protection against pregnancy for 12 weeks. After 14 weeks, the drug has been cleared from the body to a level where contraception is no longer effective. It takes the average woman 5 months following the injection (2 months after the "missed injection") to establish a normal menstrual cycle.
Avatar n tn I am taking multi vitamins for women with 400mcg of folic acid. We would really love to be blessed with a child. Anybody have any thoughts or Ideas that might help?!?!
Avatar f tn They just looked at my incisions and prescribed my Depo-Provera. I told her about my continued, lasting pain with this past period as well as the continuing irregular BM/diarrhea. The doctor wasn't too interested in discussing those problems, just telling me about the Depo-Provera shot. I told her I wasn't sure about it and may wait a few cycles before taking it. Still haven't made up my mind.
Avatar n tn I have had endo for over ten years now and after a few surgeries and depo provera i finally put my foot down along with my husband and said Enough is enough, i couldnt live like that any longer! so i started Lucrin in Jan and i've got my last injection in a few days time. I was terrified of going on it after reading side effects but...the hot flushes, night sweats, headaches and feeling pregnant lol are nothing compared to how much pain i was in before!
Avatar f tn It is driving me CRAZY. I have an appointment with my OB the end of the month, and I am considering having it removed. I also, have very sharp pains in my sides, thought it was ovulation but it is way to often. I already have 3 children (a set of twins, and a toddler) so I don't want more kids, but I'm not ready to shut my body down that if I change my mind I can't have anymore. I hope all of us find something to work, or this Mirena starts doing what it says it will do.
Avatar n tn I finnally see a doctor on monday, the doctor will be putting me on most likely phentermine and i will be taking the hcg shot, i am kind of worried about the shot because i take the depo provera birth control shot, people take hcg to ovulate and get pregnant i was just wondering if this might be something to worry about, i dont have my monthly cycle and dont really want it back, if someone might be in the same situation as i am or might know the answer im looking for please let me know.
363243 tn?1331037450 I'm new to this forum... never diagnosed with PCOS when I had health insurance, but had and still have many of the symptoms. Therefore,I'm just wondering what kind of success people have seen with the use of saw palmetto as far as hair growth reduction. I'm trying the spearmint tea, but don't think it's working... I've been waxing (it began with my upper lip, then my neck, followed by sideburns, and now even my cheeks) for close to 10 years now.
Avatar n tn Acouple of days ago I was having ligament pulling down below my belly if I moved wrong or if I sneezed, like I did when I was pregnant with my son. I think my last period was at the beginning of Oct. Well i took a test this morning when my hubby got up for work at 5:30 and it came out negative, could it have been to soon??? Please let me know what you guys think.
902536 tn?1326917850 i strongly suggest you get off of depo-provera NOW!!! that contraceptive is poison to the system. i was on this bc for 2 and a half years, have been ttc for the past 19 months with no luck and blame depo entirely for this cause. When i was on depo i thought it was fantastic as i never had a period how wrong was i. I got bad cramps every month, depression, major mood swings, bloated and weight gain etc.
Avatar n tn I am wondering if someone could help me with some suggestions with how i shall proceed with my symptoms. I am 44 and have been having very painful periods with large blood clots most of my life. About the past few years i have had pain, mostly during ovalation on the left side pelvic area. The past year i have lost periods and now i have them twice a month. The pain has increased alot during these periods. Just recently the pain is now constant on the left side.
4842016 tn?1372042667 The depo provera shot can be taken while breastfeeding and is needed every 3 months. If you get it within 6 weeks of delivery it can reduce your milk supply.
10228675 tn?1423885056 I got pregnant on the pill so no way am I using that again , I had a friend that had a lot of health issues on mirena so I don't really want that either, I think I'm going with the IUD arm implant because its effecrive once its inserted. And I was on the depo I gained a lot of weight and bleed almost the entire month, plus doctors recommend you only be on it for a year because it isn't great for your bones.
Avatar n tn Alright, this is worrying me. Previously, I have received 3 injections of Depo Provera at the regular three month intervals, with my last injection being in the middle of June. I was due for my next injection in September, but my health insurance ran out, and my new coverage didn't kick in in time. After stopping the injections, I realized just how crappy they were making me feel, and opted not to get back on them. I haven not been on any other method of bc since then.
Avatar n tn There's no hormonal fluctuation, and never has been; it's consistent all the time. I'm on depo-provera now, but even before then it was the same. It doesn't seem to matter if I scrub myself raw, or go two weeks without bathing (I'm in the Houston area, and last fall after Ike, with no power or clean water, bathing was iffy. We've been through similar several times over the years). Diet makes no difference. Climate changes make no difference. Any ideas?
Avatar n tn My friend just went from the patch to the pill and her Dr said she had to use a back up method for 7 days. But according to http://www.goaskalice.columbia.edu/2965.html they say you are protected immediately. "If a woman's previous method was injectable birth control, such as Depo Provera, she needs to begin using the COCs (estrogen and progestin combined oral contraceptive) or POPs (progestin-only pill) when the next shot is scheduled in order to be continually protected from pregnancy.
435139 tn?1255463991 YES, insurance is a BIG thing with the IUD! My appointment for the IUD cost $954!!!! But with my husband's insurance is covered 100% of it. Originally it would of been 80% and I would of had to pay $150 upfront. but I had my daughter in February and the deductable was covered. Good luck and wish you the best. I was in the same place you are now. Trying to figure out what was best and if the IUD really works....
Avatar f tn The Mirena IUD has hormones like the pill and some women stop having a period completely. Then, there's the Depo Provera shot. This one is one of the more controversial birth controls out there. You get a hormone shot, and a few months later, you get another one. Less to remember, but you have to make sure you get each shot on time.
Avatar n tn I started dating and having sex with my boyfriend seven months ago. After a few months into our relationship, we had me go on Depo-Provera for birth control and stopped using condoms. I realize now that wasn't the smartest idea since I just took his word that he didn't have any STD's. However, I have been 100% faithful to him and I feel pretty confident that he hasn't slept with anyone else since meeting me.
Avatar f tn I'm actually not sure that I'm ovulating at all. Before we started ttc, I went on the depo-provera injection for one year. It stopped my periods (which were regular before that), and I've never gotten them back. I have had a period with provera, and I have had a couple on my own (but they're short - about 3 days). I chart my bbt and it is all over the place. I've been pregnant once, so I have obviously ovulated at least once.
Avatar n tn My last pregnancy test was negative. I was on Depo Provera and birth control pills for several years. I have no children and that was my only pregnancy ever. At this point I really feel I will be infertile forever. When I read the posts on here it seems like everybody who miscarried in March or April is either pregnant or at least has normal periods. And it also seems my situation is so unusual nobody has any suggestions.
796506 tn?1370191905 Well the only way that I am going to have af is with provera (is this Soy Iso) supposed to induce af or help with ovulation?
Avatar f tn I said - h--, I know what is wrong with me, all I need to do is pray, talk to my family and find out what the heck is going on with me. they keep adding more s--- to the pile. Sorry for rambling. First time. anxious to find out mainly about the endometrial stuff going on.
766872 tn?1240344712 fairyzduzt-Congratulations on the good news! That is so good to hear that you and your DH can continue with your TTC process with a better insurance plan. How long does it actually take to get started with the IVF once you get to make an appt? Well good luck with that and I hope everything goes o.k for you. mareski-Goodluck with the clomid! Are you going to try something else with the clomid? maybe metformin? candie429-Hey Girly whats up!!!!
Avatar n tn I had a period in April 28 2008 and then nothing so I went to my ob/gyn and she provided me with Provera 7 days 10 mg and I started my period on Aug 6 2008 and now nothing so I am soo depressed because I`m also trying to get preggo again and be trying since May 2008. !! I took a test on Sep6th but NEG so Im not sure to test again ro what because my period hasnt came or just not going to come again like before.. soo hang in there hopefully you weill get ur miracle.. BABY DUST TO YOU!!!!!
Avatar n tn Never had one problem with it. Now, I can't seem to do anything to get my period back. I was prescribed Provera which makes the lining in your uterus shed, FORCING you to have a period. It didn't work. I have a child, but I am horribly concerned that I will not be able to have another one in the future. I am not on ANY medications/prescriptions. I do not use drugs and only drink alcohol on occasion (once a month...about two mixed drinks).
