Depo provera teeth

Common Questions and Answers about Depo provera teeth

Avatar m tn I am getting my wisdom teeth out and the oral surgeon is giving me an IV of antibiotics to help with the healing after surgery. I am on the Depo Provera birth control shot and I had heard that antibiotics can effect birth control before. Is this true? Should I use a back-up form of birth control, and if so, for how long?
Avatar n tn Then I was diagnosed with osteopenia, hypothyroidism, Hashimoto's thyroiditis, and NOW depo-induced menopause. Are they all related to depo-provera use? I was taking it for 5 years. In what order do I treat this set of disorders? Why is my jaw the primary target? Will the bone loss stop, reverse? My endocrinologist said I should be taking hormone-replacement therapy, but that's what started me on this road to begin with! Help! I really don't want to have menopause twice. Any suggestions?
Avatar n tn I was given a shot of depo-provera yesterday...and when I asked about side affects all I was told was nausea, headache, and dizziness. After reading quite a few articles online, it seems there are a lot more serious side affects than I was led to believe. I've been having lots of chest pain and shortness of breath, but the doctor doesn't seem to think it's related to the shot.
Avatar f tn Now i am waiting for my gynecologist appointment to come through.I am so worried at the moment.I am sure it is because of Depo Provera AND NOT CANCER.I told her that i have read a lot of reviews of woman who had the sam on going bleeding for months, but she kind of ignored that. I just wonder how will they stop that bleeding? When it is going to stop?
Avatar n tn I was on the shot (depo provera) for a little over a year, but missed my shot in november. because I forgot that I had missed my shot, I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend. I have read a lot of information about depo and know that for most women it takes 3 months or more to get pregnant. however, I have been having slight to moderate menstrual-like cramps for a few days, but no bleeding.
Avatar n tn Here is some info that I found for you.
Avatar f tn It's take time for your body come back to normal and get rid whatever in your system. I was on bc for 13 yrs. pills, depo shot, iud. i took iud out since july and still have hard time to conceive. I believe its take six month to a year to conceive. My period always irregular so i didn't pay attention to it. i knew when i was on pills, my period very regular and when i was on depo or IUD it's seem never have period. I was on medicine to help me ovulate and fertile. This is my 3rd cycle.
Avatar n tn I had the MRIs, was put on anti-epilepsy medicine by a neurologist...turned out, it had something to do with depo-provera. The second that I got off of it, they stopped. I get a fleeting one every once in a while, and I think that it is fluctuations in hormones or something. Just a theory. The body just isn't up for massive injections of progesterone. Mine were painful, though, but I could feel muscle movement.
Avatar f tn I have been on birth control (mostly the pill, though have also tried depo provera, and the patch..neither of which were for me) since I started my period at the age of 12. The doctor put me right onto birth control due to the uncontrollable cramping, vomiting, migranes, and other symptoms that came along with my monthly cycle. Even after years of taking the pill, the pain was still hardly bareable and I missed an average of 3 days/month from school between grades 7 and 12.
Avatar f tn he came inside me too..
Avatar n tn Hey, I just wanted to let you know that I am now comeing off my depo shot and last week I was spotting and this week I have start AF it is miserable but since it sounds like we are in the same boat thought I'de share that with you but I know I'm not pregnant well ttyl...
Avatar n tn I NEVER had a problem with anxiety until the seasonale and the depo-provera. I'm still dealing with after-effects from those things. I had severe anxiety (like, would my house burn down because I wasn't home, kind of anxiety), and it was all caused by the hormones. Just a thought...
Avatar f tn Hello everyone...I am 25 and I already have an 8 year old girl... I was on Depo Provera ever since I had my daughter..My husband and I decided to try for another baby and I got off Depo on September 2006. Please have in mind that while I was on Depo I never got my period in 7 years.... NO PERIOD NO SPOTTING... I got my period for the first time on December 2006 and ever since I have been regular... I get my period every month and last 4 days....
Avatar n tn haha i am not pregnant now and have decided to wait to ttc until july because i have some minor surgeries to undergo (wisdom teeth and most likely gall bladder). so my summer will be tons of fun. with my son i had to go out on disability because i have meniere's disease, an inner ear disorder, and was extremely dizzy and prone to falling down a lot. i was out of work for the last two months of pregnancy. he was born 2/28/03. i have no sick days whatsoever.
Avatar n tn i keep getting freezing cold teeth and its worrying me can some one help me
Avatar n tn My gyno prescribed it because I had been on the depo and was having irregular periods. I have only been taking it for about five days, and I was just wondering if I could get pregnant while on it? Because on the 11th I believe I started ovulating (this is the first time since I quit the depo) and I am wondering if the combination of the pill, and the provera the hospital put me on kind of shocked my body back into normalcy.
Avatar n tn One morning I woke up to an old man that was falling apart and had false teeth, bad back, grey hair, ED and all the old age things. I was too young to be doing that. I didn't want to sit at home watching reruns of Andy Griffith and talking about grocery prices. I was still young and had a lot of life left. I do thank God for unanswered prayers. I can't imagine he and I bound for life with a baby today. Phew! I dodged a bullet.
280700 tn?1210287416 I also took clomid 50mg last month and never ovulated, so the cycle was a bust and the doctor prescribed Provera again casue it could be some time before i get my period. He upped my dosage to 100mg and i'm on day 3 today of clomind. I'm basically taking clomid cd 2-6 as the specialist wanted and then he will start monitoring me on CD 9. I'm also getting IUI done so hopefully tis would help but if I don't ovulate then this cycle would be a bust also. I'm crossing my fingers as well.
Avatar n tn I have been TTC for 4 months (this is currently our 5th), DH is 30 and I'm 28. Have been off Depo Provera Shot for 14 months and been having irregular periods for 10 months now. My cycle length varies from 12 - 20 days. I'm currently sitting at CD22 with no period, no cramps, bloating, or any of the AF symptoms I'm used to. Have been using OPK because of the irregular cycle length & this month ovulated on CD5 while I was still spotting from AF!
Avatar n tn This compares with 10 for the normal IUCD, 20 for the Pill and 10-15 for the injection (Depo Provera). This is comparable to the effectiveness of sterilisation. Mirena acts as a contraceptive in two ways: it makes the mucus at the neck of the womb (the cervix) much thicker, preventing sperm from getting through and it also makes the lining of the womb extremely thin, stopping implantation. In some women it prevents egg release (ovulation). A.
298579 tn?1192250448 The only thing I have seen that helps the pain is an herbal wrap that you heat up(you can get them @ walmart), and I lay that on my stomach. I have been on the depo shot for four years, I have asked if this is a contributing factor and have been told no. I have no kids. I hope someone comes up with an explanation, because I am too young to be giving up on my sex life!
Avatar f tn I've switched to the pill now but just started but after I had my son i wanted to try Depo-provera I got the shot until my son was six months old and I think it may have had something to do with my mood I started feeling really sad all the time and started getting chest pains and bad headaches I went to the er twice with chest pains and they did a ct scan and ekg and said everything was fine both times and they did a scan on my head to check for tumors and they said everything was fine with that
Avatar n tn I am on the Depo-Provera shot for birth control and read that Depo-Ralovera (a very similar shot) can cause greasy hair. ( I wonder if I could have received the wrong shot when I was in about 2 weeks ago, the names are so similar. At first I thought I didn't rinse the shampoo or conditioner out of my hair well enough.
Avatar n tn Depo Provera or Androcur will take your drive away, but be careful, the effects of chemical castration can be bad, depression, mood swings, heat flashes, etc. Women can have low estrogen too and i find its a better solution to bring the low partner up than to shut the high partner down...
Avatar f tn i was put on provera for 7 days to stop the bleeding, but after i finished taking the pill i started on my period again. this time "normal," no bizzare watery fluid. i am currently looking for a obygynee to see what this watery blood could have been, since i'd never had it before. I feel you guys! Best of luck to you, hopefully the dr i find can tell me something useful to bring back to you.
Avatar n tn She said she took SEVERAL HPT and 2 blood ALL NEGATIVE. Finally when her Doc gave her a RX for provera to start her period she was tested one more time 12/9 almost a month later she FINALLY GOT a positive blood test. Her Docs theory is she just ovulated VERY late in her cycle that month!!! How crazy is that!!? It took almost a WHOLE month for her to show positive for pregnant. I mean you are alittle further than a month though. Have you got an ultrasound?
Avatar n tn Usually I don't start until I get a prescription of Provera for the doc. Last time I went 2 and 1/2 months before I started again by provera. so being late is a usual thing for me...I'm so confused, but I don't want to get my hopes up like I do every other month...I guess I should just get an appt. with the doc to be sure...I'll keep you updated!
Avatar n tn there is NO WAY that I am pregnant and he wants me to take Provera to bring on a period and then start injectibles in the next cycle. I am not sure I am OK with this, any thoughts? Not counting on it, but hoping!!!
Avatar n tn i wonder why we have to go through all this with the iud the reason i got it was so i wont have to worry about getting the depo, but i guess that worked for five years next time im sticking with it. than i go on the babies online site to see how far along am i and in one week i dont remember which one it says the breast produces colostrum, so me being unpatient i go ahead for the squeeze.........surprise some fluid appears.....i cant wait for the ultrasound its in three days........
