Avatar n tn I was on the Depo-Provera injection for about 2 year and a half and I have just gotten off the injection a couple of months ago. I got my first period and I have not gotten my second and it has been about 3 months. I have gone to my doctor had a blood test and a vaginal ultrasound to make sure I was not preg and he put me on Provera for 10days. I have been on the medication for 5 days and I have not even spotted or felt no cramps.
Avatar n tn Hi my name is Marie and i was on depo provera in May 07 and i had my periods in december. It was regular and my last period was in March 08. Since then i never got my periods again. Im confused and lost. Sometimes i take pregnancy tests and they all come out negative. So i really dont know what's the cause. I really need some help and answers! Recently i had sex with my boyfriend and my periods are still not here. But i feel tired and moody from time to times.
Avatar n tn you can always call your pharmacist and ask to make sure. My husband and I are TTC and I took the Depo shot twice and stopped 11/04 and then started BCP till 8/05 and havent had a period since except with provera. I think the Depo is still in my system and is screwing everything up. I hope the provera works for you and best of luck with the clomid.
Avatar n tn here is my web site and depo group web address. please feel free to take a look and ask me questions!!! love...kimmie
Avatar f tn I will never go on Depo Provera again. My daughter was on Depo Provera at college, and discontinued the shot and has lost that weight and is thin again.'s free site has helped me keep up with my carb intake, and also tells me how many calories, how much fat etc. I use. It does this automatically when I put my food in for the day. Also Magic Bus has a forum where you can learn how to lose weight quick and even post on a challenge to keep you honest and responsible.
Avatar f tn I wonder what the difference between the two depo shots are and I wonder why my gyno recommended the other depo shot if the depo-subq provera 104 shot is specific for endo ?
Avatar n tn I was on depo-provera years ago and also passed clots and tissue. I only stayed on it one course and felt crappy the whole 3 months. I think your idea of going off everything and trying to let your body take over might be a good one. I can't recall how old you said you were, but I am assuming you are nowhere near menopause?
Avatar f tn I have a question for you. Have you ever been surgically diagnosed with endo or have you been on the depo shot and other period suppressed medications for a while? This is important because if you are not treating the disease through excision (cutting out) you are only using these meds as a band-aide. Lupron is hit or miss with some people. I have met some that have horrifying side effects like you describe with hair etc.
Avatar n tn I was on the depo for about 2 years and I was only 16 when my doctor put me on it for medical reasons. My last shot was in the middle of October 2010 and I still haven't had a period or even spotting... should I be concerned? My doctor didn't tell me all the side effects and risks when she put me on it and I have learned since that teens are recommended not to take it...what should I do?
Avatar n tn I have frequent migraines and couldn't use bcp's any longer and had a bad experience with depo-provera(bleeding all of the time). I actually love it, it has to be taken out soon and I truly don't know what I'm going to use or if I can get another one. It was a bit uncomfortable on insertion because I have a retroverted (tipped) uterus and the cervix had to be pulled up to visualize the opening for insertion, but the procedure was very quick.

199284 tn?1200688850 These last pounds are very hard to get rid of and I get frustrated at times. Did you see live4fitness' comment on depo-provera? These pills have helped her lose weight. I have been looking for some birth control pills that could also help me if not lose at least maintain my weight. I do not wish to get pregnant and I don't want to gain weight.
Avatar n tn I am diagnosed with hypothyroidism for 10 years now. Been on medication this long and my tsh levels were always normal. Since depo-provera, my tsh is low for the past 6 months at least, and my thyroid levels are still the same as always. (To be exact, T4 jumped from 7.3 to 8.1, but when it was 7.3, my tsh was in the very high ones, like 1.8 or so).
1573127 tn?1295858632 High I ben On Depo For Bout An yr And i stopped in September and i bleed sometimes but not really then on dec 23 i had really bad craps and bleedin alot so my doctor put me on provera and i was wondern how long shoud it take to get your period?
Avatar n tn dose anyone no any thing about Depo-Provera aka the shot and what some woman can get with periods and if a dark brown with a little hint of orange dicharge is normal?
1573127 tn?1295858632 It's simply hard to say. Depo-provera affects everyone differently. Just keep in touch with your doctor, ask lots of questions and hang in there.
Avatar n tn Are you seeing an infertility specialist? This would be helpful. The steps I would recommend are: 1) A saline ultrasound and an endometrial biopsy to look for causes for the constant bleeding 2) After seven years of trying, a full infertility investigation which includes blood tests to see if you are ovulating, an XRay of the uterus and tubes to see if the tubes are open, and a sperm count. 3) Treating the cause of the infertility.
10977101 tn?1414282594 and it didn't help the cramps or the heavy bleeding. went back and was put on the depo provera shot and my mom asked the doctor what could be causing me to have severe cramps and the weight loss. the doctor told my mom that i was aneroxic and bulemic and that i should see a pyschatrist. after that being said i decided to not go back to that obygn after i stopped taking the depo provera shot because that wasn't helping the pain either. at that point in my life i was loosing hope.

1344197 tn?1392822771 Claims of weight loss, increasing energy, improve mood, are safer, and many others have been made. Hopefully this article can help you answer questions and dismiss many of the myths surrounding this highly published, highly marketed topic. The term Bioidentical Hormones is not a medical term, it is a marketing term used to imply an exact copy of the hormones produced in the body.
497047 tn?1210002233 52 in a couple of months and since I am having symptoms...fatigue, slight weight gain, loss of appetite, dry skin and hair, pins and needles in hands and feet, hoarse voice, mild depression...he just started me on synthroid. Then I read that Lithium can affect your thyroid. I dug around and found a bunch of old labs from those years that I saw the psychiatrist (I no longer do). I wanted to post some of these test results and see if anyone had any feedback.
5856747 tn?1403352282 I also need to know if you are on any form of birth control including the IUCD and if you were ever on any antidepressants?” Her answers to these questions were revealing in their own way. No she was not on any form of BC, not now or ever and she was never on any antidepressants. As to the first part of my question; her problem was indeed a pure loss of libido and had nothing to do with response. While answering this Ruth also let it slip that she had a full time job!
Avatar f tn About 11 days ago, I started what I thought was a period. I am on the Depo Provera shot for birth control, and for the majority of my time on the shot (appx 1.5 years) I didn't have any major bleeding. In March, I had extremely heavy (heavier than a normal period) bleeding, with large clots (some the size of the palm of my hand). I called my OBGYN, and they said "this is normal. It's break through bleeding. We'll just move your shot up to 10 weeks instead of 12.
Avatar n tn thinks either adenomyosis or endo, but she told me if yaz doesnt help the next step might be the depo provera shot I dont know much about it but that may be a possibility for you, or possibly even lupron depo she suggested, even though I think you get many side effects from it. It's like a fake menopause! Well good luck lemme know how things works out!
Avatar n tn I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Go to The information there will be very helpful to you. There is a yahoo group link on the web-site. There is some wonderful people there who can help you. I am a part of this group and have done extensive research on the subject. Avatar n tn but im 23 yrs old and about 6/7 months ago i had an abortion, and got the depo provera shot. I only ever had the one shot and read to much bad stuff about it...For about a month now i have been getting my period every 2 weeks along with a bit of dark discharge, back aches and horrible hot flashes, which have cause me to leave work as felt like i was on fire.
