Common Questions and Answers about Depo provera price

Avatar n tn To re-hash, I was put on Depo-Provera for endometriosis. I'm at the end of the second month of its three month effective range, and everything's been fine so far. (I had surgery on 5/17, light bleeding until about the beginning of the second week of June, then nothing since *yay*). For the past 3-4 days, I've been getting that 'pre-period' feeling (slightly *ugh*, little crampy on the side where the cyst was, and mucousy discharge.
Avatar n tn I have been on depo for 11 years. I would be due for my next shot on 9/27 but my Doctor has advised that I stop having it. She has been treating me for migraines and depression with Imitrex (when needed) and a daily dosage of Prozac of 10mg. The Imitrex thankfully, works, and the migraines have also been lessened by the Prozac.
Avatar n tn He came back saying that this doctor had been studying it, and found no proof that there is a correlation to calcium loss and depo provera use. I got back on depo in January. I've now had my period pretty bad for about 10 days. Two months ago, I had it for 29 days. This isn't normal for me either. I've never had this. I'm getting annoyed. Ruined underthings because I have no clue when it will happen. I wish there was something out there that you could take.
Avatar n tn I'm scared I'm going to pay a bigger price with having the DEPO shot. I can only hope and pray that the next 3 months I don't bleed non stop and then, by not getting the next shot that don't pay again with wild freak out periods for the next year !!! I wonder if the fact that I've never had kids will aid my case or make it worse? WHAT WAS I THINKING??? I JUST WANTED THE MONTHLY PAIN TO STOP AND NOW IT SEEMS I COULD HAVE MADE THINGS WORSE WITH WORSE PAIN TO COME !!
Avatar f tn hi i have been off depo provera for quite some time and am considering using clomid. I have looked at different types and am a bit confused as to what is the difference between clomiphene citrate (brand) and clomid(generic)/ ovinum. The price for 30 50mg clomiphene citrate tablets is £151 but for the generic version for 30 50mg tablets its only £60. Does one work better than the other? please help am really desperate now!
Avatar f tn You can opt for other long methods of contraception like depo shots. Depo-Provera is a long-acting progestin (hormone) form of birth control. It was seen in studies that after a year of Depo-Provera injections, 57% of women were not menstruating and after 2 years, 68% of women were not menstruating. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.

Avatar n tn You can get transient small ovarian cysts due to the Depo-Provera, but not generally clinically significant ones." I was curious why my lack of periods began immediately after I discontinued the birth control shot. I decided to do a google search "depo cysts" and I've been reading quite a few stories about other women who had developed cysts after using the shot. Some had side effects years later... others took birth control pills and went back to normal.
Avatar n tn Wolff Parkinson White, blackouts caused by low blood pressure and a fairly rare condition called occular vicarous mensration. I'm on medication which helps most of these issues (Fludercortizone, Nadalol and Depo Provera) but its not quite sorted.
Avatar n tn i have noticed this problem for at least a couple of years and initially my doctor thought it was because i was in depo provera and had abnormal bleeding all the time. i have been on the pill for over 7 months and my periods are back to normal except after this occurrence following orgasm. in april i had an abnormal pap smear that indicated i had HGSIL (high-grade intraepithelial lesions) of the cervix.
Avatar f tn I did try several birth-control methods when I was in my 20s and 30s's such as Norplant, the pill and Depo Provera but I had many adverse reactions to them. Mainly and most bothersome..., my periods became reversed and I was on my period for three weeks and then off for one week. I haven't been given any info on the other options as to date.

Avatar f tn I'll definitley ask about this. So far the recommendaton from the DR that did my surgery is Depo Provera shot or Luprin (?). I am 36 and have not had kids yet and am not sure if I want any. However, I'm leaning toward the Depo as the Luprin has menopause type symptoms which I don't think I am ready to deal with even temporarily. I"ll get another opinion on Monday. Will let you know what my regular DR. recommends. How are you treating your endo?
166487 tn?1351909251 ), but when I worked as a Zookeeper for the San Diego Zoo for 10 years, we had to determine the ovulation cycles of our Orangutans and Bonobo Chimps (some were previously on Depo-provera, so we were tracking to see when they'd start ovulating again, and others we were trying to determine their cycles for introducing them to a new male or for artificial insemination).
Avatar n tn and it has helped me a lot. I had a Depo Provera shot which made it virtually impossible to lose weight. I've been taking Indole-3-Carbinol supplements (comes from Cruciferous veggies) and am finally starting to shed some weight.

1230912 tn?1273496370 Extavia, Depo-Provera Topiramate, Tramadol Those are what I consider my pertinant information at the moment - what do you guys think? If I were to do a bracelet with only 4 lines would you just take out the "medications" line? What do you have on yours if you have one?
196469 tn?1365391575 But, progesterone cannot be patented and so the company that makes Premarin came up with a Progestin, as Katie pointed out, and they called it Provera (Depo Provera is a relative of this). The two drugs together, Premarin and Provera, Equal Prempro. It is now theorized that the Progestins are what helps create the big mess in the synthetic world of hormones. The snythetic estrogens are not great either ( I, like you, would only use a bio estrogen like Vivelle) but that Progestin is nasty.
1160836 tn?1332333769 I don't have PCOS just simply haven't ovulated in 4 months. Last regular AF was November 09. All my other's have been Provera induced. Did clomid 50 mg last cycle and still didn't ovulate. This next cycle doing provera agian and clomid 100 mg. Hopefully I ovulated. Have my fingers crossed. SBD!
280700 tn?1210287416 I also took clomid 50mg last month and never ovulated, so the cycle was a bust and the doctor prescribed Provera again casue it could be some time before i get my period. He upped my dosage to 100mg and i'm on day 3 today of clomind. I'm basically taking clomid cd 2-6 as the specialist wanted and then he will start monitoring me on CD 9. I'm also getting IUI done so hopefully tis would help but if I don't ovulate then this cycle would be a bust also. I'm crossing my fingers as well.
Avatar m tn I admit I'm still wrapping my head around it because you hear a new pill being advertised on tv every day but then a class action lawsuit five years later. I myself took depo provera and that was a big mistake. Still, Wilko1956 wants to do it and it's worth a try. The good news his liver can't get any worse as explained by the doctor so I'm hoping the betting the only way now is up! Thanks meNtoby!
Avatar n tn This compares with 10 for the normal IUCD, 20 for the Pill and 10-15 for the injection (Depo Provera). This is comparable to the effectiveness of sterilisation. Mirena acts as a contraceptive in two ways: it makes the mucus at the neck of the womb (the cervix) much thicker, preventing sperm from getting through and it also makes the lining of the womb extremely thin, stopping implantation. In some women it prevents egg release (ovulation). A.
298579 tn?1192250448 The only thing I have seen that helps the pain is an herbal wrap that you heat up(you can get them @ walmart), and I lay that on my stomach. I have been on the depo shot for four years, I have asked if this is a contributing factor and have been told no. I have no kids. I hope someone comes up with an explanation, because I am too young to be giving up on my sex life!
Avatar f tn I've switched to the pill now but just started but after I had my son i wanted to try Depo-provera I got the shot until my son was six months old and I think it may have had something to do with my mood I started feeling really sad all the time and started getting chest pains and bad headaches I went to the er twice with chest pains and they did a ct scan and ekg and said everything was fine both times and they did a scan on my head to check for tumors and they said everything was fine with that
