5363805 tn?1366921550 I am suffering from depression and anxiety due to depo-provera (already talked to an OB, and she said that it HAS to be from that), and I am barely coping. It's been 6 days and I'm already ready to give up on myself, and I see no end in sight. I'm losing hope. I wish I had never taken it. I'm also suffering from fatigue and headaches. My head feels so heavy, I can barely hold it up.
Avatar n tn does taking depo provera for 3 months make you infertile?
Avatar f tn Hello just alittle about myself, I am 26 year old female with 3 kids. This past August I recently had a miscarriage and D&C. I was 10 weeks along but I had a partial molar pregnancy. Right after my D&C I received the depo provera shot because my doc said I couldn't get pregnant for a year. Well in mid September all my symptoms started and just hit me out of nowhere one day. One night I just started having a panic attack out of no where.
Avatar f tn Hello, well this all started a few months ago. I had a miscarriage in late July and had a D&C. I was fine after that and was put on depo provera shot so that I wouldn't get pregnant again. I got the shot at my 2 week check up so that was at the beginning of August. In mid September I started experiencing really bad anxiety and panic attacks. I also had fast heart rate, weight loss, heart palpitations.
Avatar n tn I think you're thinking of DepoProvera (a.k.a Depo). Provera is different.
661650 tn?1302286158 (Other factors such as naturally occurring miscarriages and surprise pregnancies would have some impact on the numbers.) The longer-lasting (three months) Depo-Provera injection acts by altering the lining of the uterus, preventing implantation of the newly conceived life. Based on one million users with an ovulation rate of 40 to 60 percent, combined with a 25-percent conception rate, yields either 1.2 million chemical abortions per year, or on the higher end, 1.8 million a year.
384896 tn?1335297931 The american college of obstetrics and gynecology recommends progestin only birth control while breastfeeding such as depo provera and minipills. Progestin birth control may actually increase your milk supply where as birth control pills containing estrogen have been shown to reduce your supply of breast milk so try to avoid those. So, stay away from those. Another option is LAM, lactional amenorrhea method: Breastfeeding doesn't have to be a hindrance to birth control.
422823 tn?1229740447 My only concern is that if I don't ovulate my uterine lining could become dangerously too thick again and I would have to take provera to get af. When you don't ov, you don't get a true period and thus my lining built up in the past and I was told this is a pre-cursor to uterine cancer.
Avatar f tn The only other pregnancy symptom i have is tender breast but that could be from the depo hormones still in my system (if it is) I was due for depo almost 3 months ago actually. NO appietite at all..not hungry. IDK wat do u think.
Avatar n tn Today I went by the health department to pick up some foam and condoms (my physician told me I can never get pregnant again due to those complications, plus I had gestational diabetes and postpartum preeclampsia) and the nurse told me that she thought I could take a progesterone shot, such as Depo Provera or Lunelle. Now that I've finally gotten around to asking my question, can a woman with a history of PEs take Depo or Lunelle safely?
987844 tn?1256852969 very interesting, read up on it and you will be very surprised at how related things are. I was also on Depo provera as well and that too I have to be removed from as it does not help with a thyroid issue. My TSH T3 and T4 will be tested again in a few weeks but if they are normal ranges I will be off the tablets for good....yipeeeeeeeeee. I hope this information helps someone else like it helped me.......................check it out and ask your Dr if this could be you as well...............
Avatar n tn I am on depo-provera, and have done depo-lupron and many bc bills. I have seen specialist, and 2 different ob-gyn's. I am drained. I know somethings not right. I am now having pain, I have cysts, but they shouldn't be causing this chronic pain, sharp pain, if they aren't rupurting. I call the dr. and they say suck it basically. I see a specialist at UNC- Chapel Hill in March. Dr. Steege. He is supposed to be the best. Wish me luck, I hope I find an answer.
312323 tn?1193300534 It all started about four years ago when I had my second child, after I had him my friend told me about this new birth control called the mirena IUD, now I have had an IUD before, it was the paraguard but it was horrible I bleed for 4 months straight, and was in alot of pain, so when I heard that this birth control was the complete opposite I was very happy, I mean what woman wouldnt be?

603463 tn?1220630455 *Use urine collected first thing in the morning--it is more concentrated. You can collect the urine and save it in a labeled container in the refrigerator if you need to run to the store for the test kit. *Don't drink too much fluid before testing. This will dilute the urine. *If you are testing later in the day, make sure it has been at least four hours since you last emptied your bladder. *Check the expiration date on your test.
Avatar n tn Also I was on Depo Provera for 17 months which really added to my weight gain. I've been off this drug since December 05, still haven't gotten my period back and am still gaining weight. I also take pain meds when my fibro acts up. I workout with a personal trainer and having been going to the gym 3-4 times a week for a month and really working out hard and i gained 10 more pounds. I am now topping out at 240. I have never come close to this weight in my life.
1160836 tn?1332333769 I don't have PCOS just simply haven't ovulated in 4 months. Last regular AF was November 09. All my other's have been Provera induced. 544292 tn?1268886268 Day 22 Cold Turkey Tramadol ... I woke up HAPPY. I used to wake up happy all the time, before the Tramadol. Waking up happy is good. Then I tried to move. I had to use my hands and arms to get up out of bed. My body has been pushed as far as it will go. So after trying all my best tricks (aminos, coffee, food, vitamins, water) I finally stopped the struggle and called in sick for work. Tomorrow will be a busier day anyhow.
Avatar n tn This compares with 10 for the normal IUCD, 20 for the Pill and 10-15 for the injection (Depo Provera). This is comparable to the effectiveness of sterilisation. Mirena acts as a contraceptive in two ways: it makes the mucus at the neck of the womb (the cervix) much thicker, preventing sperm from getting through and it also makes the lining of the womb extremely thin, stopping implantation. In some women it prevents egg release (ovulation). A.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am a 30 yr old mother of 3 who had a postpartum tubal ligation in march of 2011 after the csection for my last child. All was going ok at first other than being on the ortho evra patch for keeping my periods light. In December of 2012 I started spotting so my doctor told me to stop the patch that I must be starting to become immune to it. All seemed ok after that till Aprill 22 2013 when my periods stopped altogther. I started having pregnancy symptoms as well.
Avatar f tn I've switched to the pill now but just started but after I had my son i wanted to try Depo-provera I got the shot until my son was six months old and I think it may have had something to do with my mood I started feeling really sad all the time and started getting chest pains and bad headaches I went to the er twice with chest pains and they did a ct scan and ekg and said everything was fine both times and they did a scan on my head to check for tumors and they said everything was fine with that
Avatar n tn If it came time for my next period, and it didn't show, and I was still getting negative hpt's then come in to the doc. The part that surprised me was that she said "even though those tests say they're accurate, sometimes you just don't have enough hormone in your system to show up". I said "yeah, but really, how often do you see that happen?" She said "Actually, I've seen it quite a bit".
Avatar f tn I had my Mirena placed in Oct 07, and I only went without spotting for 28 days since it has been it place. It is driving me CRAZY. I have an appointment with my OB the end of the month, and I am considering having it removed. I also, have very sharp pains in my sides, thought it was ovulation but it is way to often. I already have 3 children (a set of twins, and a toddler) so I don't want more kids, but I'm not ready to shut my body down that if I change my mind I can't have anymore.
Avatar n tn About 2 and a half months ago i had sex for the first time and we didnt use any protection. About a week after that i had a yeast infection. I took meds for that and had been fine. I had a regular period. And a month after that i had another regular period but after my period stoped i had lots of brown discharge. I have now had it for 2 weeks. I have also been tired and nauses. I took a pregnancy test and it came back negative. What could be causing this brown discharge?
Avatar n tn But I had the IUD in for two years and had the Depo. shot for six years before that so I haven't had a period in eight years. So since Nov. 28th I haven't had a period since. I have a few pregnancy symptoms but had 4 neg. HPT since Dec. 24th. Now it is Jan. 12th and no signs of a period or a positive PT. Any suggestions????
Avatar n tn i have a little boy so i know what you are talkin about i get the streching feeling in my abs and in my scar I hope every thing works out for you
Avatar n tn Depo isn't the monster that people make it out to be. It's a good option for some people so don't be afraid to look into it). The doctor I went to prefers to do the insertion on a patient who is on her period. But since I have been on Depo Provera I haven't had a period in about 22 months! Because I had previously had a vaginal delivery (my daughter is 16 years old now) the doc decided to give insertion a try without my period (this was last month). OMFG... OUCH! And I mean: OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1294995 tn?1330666336 Haven't heard from you in a while, how are you holding up? What day are you on now??? Owl: I hope you are having a better day. Any sign of O yet?
Avatar f tn They are keeping an eye on it and i need to get another cat scan in 2 months time to see if it gets larger in size, as of now it is in the normal variance range. They dont' seem to think it could result in the pain i am having though and have classified it as a red herring. This leaves me with the pain that I've always had and now a new problem to worry about. I need to find out what this is. If anyone thinks they know please help!!!
