Common Questions and Answers about Depo provera contraindications

depo-provera

Avatar n tn Despite what docs reassure you, please READ THE SIDE EFFECTS AND CONTRAINDICATIONS OF DEPO PROVERA ON THEIR SITE!! Here are some things you may not have been told: * antibiotics DO decrease the effect of any birth control, whether it is oral, topical, or by injection. * bleeding can and does occur during pregnancy, and esp.
Avatar m tn Now, there are many ways to regulate the menses and/or to supplement a woman with progesterone. You have been prescribed progesterone only pills, which is fine. A Mirena IUD and Depo Provera are other alternatives, again, if available. You could also start a estrogen/progesterone containing birth control pill (or alternatives available in your country) if you have no medical contraindications. What has been recommended by your doctor sounds fine.
Avatar n tn birth control can also cause this as well, depo provera will cause this same reaction. lexapro is a good antidepressant that has very few sexual side effects and using a diaphram instead of hormonal birth control can help as well. when a woman is on hormonal birth control her body is not producing the right hormones to keep her sexually charged and make her physically unable to enjoy sex. not all woman have these side affects, but many do.

Avatar n tn There's a very similar thread on this site re Depo Provera injections and thyroid issues. I have similar concerns. I've had Depo and now on my second Implanon and am being treated for hypothyroidism. I am very much questioning whether there is a causal link.. My first instinct was that the Depo caused my thyroid issues.
Avatar f tn i was put on provera for 7 days to stop the bleeding, but after i finished taking the pill i started on my period again. this time "normal," no bizzare watery fluid. i am currently looking for a obygynee to see what this watery blood could have been, since i'd never had it before. I feel you guys! Best of luck to you, hopefully the dr i find can tell me something useful to bring back to you.
