432411 tn?1206475709 I took depo provera for about 6 years, starting in 2000. Just over three months after I stopped taking the shots I developed a nodule in my neck which was eventually diagnosed as thyroid cancer. I have absolutely no history of thyroid problems of any kind in family and I had had no problems before the depo.
Avatar n tn I was given a shot of depo-provera yesterday...and when I asked about side affects all I was told was nausea, headache, and dizziness. After reading quite a few articles online, it seems there are a lot more serious side affects than I was led to believe. I've been having lots of chest pain and shortness of breath, but the doctor doesn't seem to think it's related to the shot.
Avatar n tn You girls have to discontinue Depo Provera at once and I highly recommend never putting any hormones into your bodies ever again. I have experienced a living nightmare from Depo Prover for the past three years. After I got the Depo shot I went home and researched on the web about the drug. I cried for three hours in fear that that could happen to me. What happened was worse. Five days after the shot a menstrual cycle started that would not cease. It wasn't a normal cycle.
Avatar n tn here is my web site and depo group web address. please feel free to take a look and ask me questions!!! love...kimmie
Avatar f tn Shimel, if your bones hurt eat more vitamin d and c or take a vitamin pill every day that could help with the bones hurting. And I'm in the same situation ad you bleeding for 3 weeks first time on birth control. I talked to my doctor about this before she told me i should take ibuprofen 600ml for 3 days every 8 or six hours. Since i been doing that the bleeding been slowing down a whole lot. Maybe you should talk to your doctor about that and the other issues u had on depo.
Avatar f tn Hello, Depo shots can cause loss of bone mineral density. Hence it is advised that all women on Depo-Provera get adequate calcium and Vitamin D (through diet and/or supplements) to help prevent osteoporosis. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.
Avatar f tn Although there are no studies to benefit its use, it is advised that all women on Depo-Provera get adequate calcium and Vitamin D (through diet and/or supplements) to help prevent osteoporosis.
Avatar n tn I have experienced a lot of bloating and i have gone in cup size from a C to a full D. I eat a healthy and walk ad run a lot. I just went off of Yaz ysterday. How lnog does it take for the bloating to go away and will my cup size ever go back to a C? Also, how long does it take for spotting to stop?

298579 tn?1192250448 You have no idea how glad I am I Finally figured out what exactly to google! I am 35 I have had the exact same thing for 5 years. 6 doctors, no sex (whats the point of crying and making him feel bad?) and waking up in my sleep. I am so tired of it all. I just started physical therapy but I am so much more leaning towards the partial. I don't want kids. but they won't do it, because i might change my mind. Trust me I have thought about this for a long 5 years and i am good with my decision.
Avatar n tn also if i want to have sex, to prevent irritation, i'm supposed to put some vitamin A and D ointment on the spot, as a barrier, and also use lubrication (astroglide is good, ky is no good because it drys out quickly) i cannot stress the importance of lube enough!! my gyn has had a lot of success with this treatment and hopes that in 6 weeks i should finally be healed. i'll post an update soon. extra advice: if your gyn is not helping, get a new one!!
503727 tn?1210442710 D and remember that you can live with an extreme illness in your brain (like cancer or a disease) without actually having it. Its just anxiety.
Avatar n tn I can't say that I wouldn't have gotten pregnant without it, but it is a multi-vitamin and it can't hurt. Try it, at the very least you will have more energy and be a little healthier. GOOD LUCK and BABY DUST 2 U!!!!
1467678 tn?1370945132 taking folic acid and chaste berry( helps with regular menstruation) and vitamin d and x3 capsules of magnesium daily, is there anything else that will boost my chances of concieving. any ideas whats happening anyone?
Avatar f tn I drink 8 to 12 glasses of water take a mult-vitamin, work out, and sleep 8 hours a day. All of that stuff, and it does really help. Another thing that helped me for a while, before I needed something stronger, was a herbal suppliment called Pa D' Acro inner bark. I took it as extract to get a stronger dose, it also comes in capsules and tea.
1229507 tn?1294026330 A side benefit to Depo is many (and I am one of them) do not have periods at all and have not had one since starting Depo--it's success rate at preventing pregnancy is 99.7% which is actually higher than tubal ligation anyway. While its true that it can't be immediately withdrawn from the system after being tried, it has only a 3 month duration and would be back out of her system if it didn't work for her.
363243 tn?1331037450 I find that alternating how I remove the little excess hair I have helps to also minimize damage. I use vitamin e and aloe as well as cocoa butter on my skin. Baby oil on wet skin also helps to clear up dark patches left by constant hair removal and it also works well on other types of marks. Visit the health food store to see what's out there in terms of helping with fading or concealing dark patches.
2026160 tn?1328928087 Do not use fabric softeners and/or fabric softener sheets in the dryer, especially on pillowcases as they cause a waxy residue that can clog pores on acne-prone individuals. Avoid low-estrogen birth control pills, Norplant, Provera, and Depo-Provera. Also progesterone hormone replacement Premarin can be problematic. If you have polycystic ovaries, they will cause hormonal changes and breakout. See our blog post about birth control pills for more information.
Avatar f tn Since my diagnosis, I have undergone 2 laparoscopic procedures, one at 19 and one at 24. I was also prescribed the Depo-Provera shot, which I was on for a little over 10 years. With the shot I did notice a few negative side effects, such as irritability and loss of sex drive, however its ability to eliminate my periods and work effectively in preventing the pain and symptoms associated with endometriosis has been incredible and def. outweighs the negative-BIG time!
Avatar n tn D if not i still will wait and find out for another month i should feel some movement thx all
Avatar f tn And nothing seems to help. I've tried aspri - doesn't work. I try massaging my breast and shoulders and that seems to help a tiny bit. Usually the pain is very dull...but one night I woke up in excruciating pain for about 10 seconds, then it went back to being dull. I'm 24, and I am being treated for Anxiety/Panic Disorder. My Psychiatrist does not think it's related. Does ANYONE have ANY ideas about what could be going on with me?!?!?!
Avatar m tn In any event I would definitely suggest supplementary Calcium and Vitamin D. When you do desire a pregnancy, you may need to consider medication such as Clomid or Femara. Hope this helps!
Avatar f tn I'm very concerned about these symptoms. And to add to this- I got the depo provera shot around feb. 5th and all of these symptoms started happening after so I am not sure if it could a deficiency of some sort but I have also read that deficiency normally affect both sides? Can someone please explain to me what is happening and that I'm not just paranoid?
Avatar n tn If it came time for my next period, and it didn't show, and I was still getting negative hpt's then come in to the doc. The part that surprised me was that she said "even though those tests say they're accurate, sometimes you just don't have enough hormone in your system to show up". I said "yeah, but really, how often do you see that happen?" She said "Actually, I've seen it quite a bit".
Avatar n tn You could also consider switching to a different birth control, again or have and IUD placed. I used the depo-provera injection and had no side affects except for some weight gain. It even got rid of ALL my menstral cramps, which use to keep me in bed even with pain pills, breast soreness and lower back pain, all which were normal for me during the first few days of my period. The depo-, if stayed on for years, will most likely stop you from having a period at all.
Avatar n tn Girls, if you don't mind me asking what is MTHFR?
Avatar f tn Why not some night time salivaries, 10 hour urines, or man, I get a lot more tests than you - DHEA sulfate, vitamin D, renin, aldosterone, Free T3, thyroid antibodies... you are missing a lot. Perhaps you need to find another doctor who will take the leaking and your symptoms seriously ... a year!!! pfffft...
Avatar f tn Hi All! Need some suggestions/advice. I am a 54 yr old woman who has been spotting/bleeding for the past 3 1/2 years. EVERY DAY! Only went away for 5 months 2 1/2 yrs ago, then on again. Just had an endometrial biopsy at the "clinic" (charity care), and they say I have this complex atypical endometrial hyperplasia. They are telling me I need a hysterectomy, but before I can get it I need a hysteroscopy first. Telling me it is pre-cancerous, but that 40-55% is usually cancerous.
8256587 tn?1399901106 I suggest you finish what you have left and you may consider a different one containing methylocobalamin, if you want to feel re-assured there will be less potential issues. Low D may cause lower B12 and B complex, as vitamin D can affect the G/I system and the ability to absorb and assimilate certain nutrients and vitamins. I can explain the association another time if you want.
796506 tn?1370191905 Thank you so much I have really had a problem ovulating and I will have to take provera before clomid (no period in 7 months) and I have heard alot of good things about this medication and I was just wondering if anyone had any advice to not drive myself insane during the wait until the RE appointment and then the next month of not driving me or my husband batty!
