Depo provera and hypertension

Common Questions and Answers about Depo provera and hypertension

depo-provera

Avatar f tn I will never go on Depo Provera again. My daughter was on Depo Provera at college, and discontinued the shot and has lost that weight and is thin again. Fitday.com's free site has helped me keep up with my carb intake, and also tells me how many calories, how much fat etc. I use. It does this automatically when I put my food in for the day. Also Magic Bus has a forum where you can learn how to lose weight quick and even post on a challenge to keep you honest and responsible.
Avatar f tn I was about 5'9'' 210lbs when I got pregnant....I had gained 50lbs previously from being on Depo Provera and had not been able to lose the weight yet. So far I have only gained about 20lbs with this pregnancy and Im 37 weeks 2days. My dr hasnt said anything about being overweight to me. And I havent had any trouble with GD or BP (mine is the normal 120/80 everytime). My Dr says I have a very healthy baby that will be around 8lbs when born.
Avatar n tn I started Celexa 7 days ago and, although I want to be positive, can't help but worry that it will not alleviate the anxiety and apprehension that were exacerbated by months I spent on Effexor XR and, most recently, by receiving my first Depo Provera treatment. I am doing relaxation exercises and will be starting NLP and TLT shortly. I just want to be me again (happy, carefree and not afraid). Am I making a mistake going on Celexa? Has it been an effective treatment for GAD?
503727 tn?1210442710 As soon as I get into a place I get so dizzy and my vision is all messed up. I get so hot and sweaty and my heart races. I want my life back. I still dont believe that its just anxiety causing all of this. I feel like I have something else wrong that the doctors cant find even though i have had bloodwork, mri, ekg, and they were all normal. I started taking .25mg of xanax once a day. still dont feel any better yet. So if anybody has any help please give it to me.
Avatar n tn I would take my med to the ER.It could be a drug interaction, or even signs of an oncoming stroke. Do not wait around. Better safe than sorry.
1432824 tn?1283386688 Last monday I had a DNC and they administered a Depo-Provera shot to get the bleeding under control. While those things have helped with the bleeding I have started having other symptoms that I thought were just due to the heavy bleeding but now the bleeding is better the symptoms still persist..I feel dizzy, light-headed, and I have "heay head" where my head seems to be too heavy for my body all of a sudden.
Avatar f tn And nothing seems to help. I've tried aspri - doesn't work. I try massaging my breast and shoulders and that seems to help a tiny bit. Usually the pain is very dull...but one night I woke up in excruciating pain for about 10 seconds, then it went back to being dull. I'm 24, and I am being treated for Anxiety/Panic Disorder. My Psychiatrist does not think it's related. Does ANYONE have ANY ideas about what could be going on with me?!?!?!
Avatar n tn I have fibroids, possibly adenmyosis, one completely blocked fallopian tube, adhesions from surgeries I assume, crohns disease that is not active right now and hypertension. I am always sick with something and am embarrassed to go to the doctor with new symptoms all the time. However I am worried because I have this constant pressure and pain in my lower abdomen. It feels as if I have a UTI. I have had several UTI's so I know the symptoms.

264156 tn?1206990594 So basically I felt every slice of the knife and every tug and pull and burn. I took a pregnancy test and it came back negative. I wouldn't be very far along if I were, not sure it would show this early. Thanks again for your response.

Avatar f tn Hi All! Need some suggestions/advice. I am a 54 yr old woman who has been spotting/bleeding for the past 3 1/2 years. EVERY DAY! Only went away for 5 months 2 1/2 yrs ago, then on again. Just had an endometrial biopsy at the "clinic" (charity care), and they say I have this complex atypical endometrial hyperplasia. They are telling me I need a hysterectomy, but before I can get it I need a hysteroscopy first. Telling me it is pre-cancerous, but that 40-55% is usually cancerous.
Avatar n tn A year ago I had stopped taking depo-provera and havn't had a menstrual cycle for almost three years, your advice has given me a good direction to start with.
Avatar f tn I was also diagnosed with endometriosis and started depo provera. I was put on preventative meds for the migraines and after a while they seemed to work. It seemed as if all my problems were hormone related. I seemed to be getting better and when I was 23 I started having rare symptoms again. I had leg pain and swelling that eventually went away, hives without a cause, migraines started again.
Avatar m tn I admit I'm still wrapping my head around it because you hear a new pill being advertised on tv every day but then a class action lawsuit five years later. I myself took depo provera and that was a big mistake. Still, Wilko1956 wants to do it and it's worth a try. The good news his liver can't get any worse as explained by the doctor so I'm hoping the betting the only way now is up! Thanks meNtoby!
Avatar n tn I have never had headaches but on the 8th of Dec I had a horrible migraine and they have not stopped since then. I was on Depo Provera and switched to Lo/overal pills could this be a reason for the headaches? I stopped taking the pill last Friday after visiting the ER with horrible pains in my head. All the tests at the ER can back ok but the headaches still come everyday. I was taking up to five meds a day to curb the pain until 2 days ago.
Avatar n tn We chose the Provera. Last night I took the last pill... I was told to take it for 5 days and then I should start my period again. She said if this period lasts longer than 2 weeks to come back. I haven't started up again yet, but it hasn't even been 24 hours since my last dose. So hopefully this turns out well.
Avatar n tn No caffeine, nicotene or stress that i know of. I was wondering if anyone knows of a relation to pvc's and depo provera (progesterone).
Avatar n tn Yes, I had to wear a liner everyday and it was just a pain in the neck. The discharge would smell after intercourse and I asked the Dr. and she checked and made sure everything was ok and it was. I had the mirena taken out after about a month and went with the 10 year becasue I had too many side effects hair loss, weight gain, depression, no sex drive. Since I had it taken out I am back to normal and no discharge.
Avatar n tn This compares with 10 for the normal IUCD, 20 for the Pill and 10-15 for the injection (Depo Provera). This is comparable to the effectiveness of sterilisation. Mirena acts as a contraceptive in two ways: it makes the mucus at the neck of the womb (the cervix) much thicker, preventing sperm from getting through and it also makes the lining of the womb extremely thin, stopping implantation. In some women it prevents egg release (ovulation). A.
Avatar n tn I have been extremely effected by the side effects.Mostly memory and spelling.I have tingling in the fingers and toes.I also have little appetite and have lost 17lbs.Witch is great for me. I am over weight.I am tired more than normal, but i did sleep alot due to migrains.I do have more side effects and stuff, but I wont over load you all at once.I know this sounds like alot, but it has gotten better as time goes on. I have started to level off and become more normal.
Avatar n tn Well in April 2012 started having ALOT of palapatations saw a new doctor this time had a TEE aka Transesophageal echocardiogram where they sedate and put a long tube down your throat to take pics of your heart was told I had Mitral valve regurgitation and tricuspid valve regurgitation with pulmonary hypertension. Next had a holter monitor done and was told had many SVT's with rare ventricular cuplets,ST's and plenty of tachycardia episodes.
Avatar n tn Did you get any medical diagnosis yet? I gained 22 pounds in 4 days and we have ruled out failing kidneys and heart problems and my doctor is clueless.
Avatar n tn It's gotten to the point where I do not expose my chest/neck ever - and cover up whenever I can. I had read once that taking Niacinimide could help - and I've been taking about 1000mg of it for a few months, but am not seeing much improvement. Anyone with any help or suggestions I would REALLY appreciate it.
Avatar n tn I had the novasure procedure done almost exactly a year ago. I was on Depo for 5 years and than started bleeding one day last year out of the blue and never stopped. I almost died, it was very frighting. I have had no period since than. But yesterday I started bleeding and pretty heavy. Not enough that I'm going to bleed to death, but a lot. Has any one had this happen to them and is this normal? I feel like I should have my Uterus taken out and not deal with this any more.
Avatar n tn I've been to vascular surgeons, cardiologists. hand surgeons and regular md's and no one can help me. This just happened again to my thumb after 10 years and my cardiologist prescribed high blood pressure meds...and I DON'T have high blood pressure, I've been running for 25 years! If anyone has a diagnosis please share...I know your frustration.
