Avatar m tn In all probability you have a patch of dry scalp due to dandruff. Apply coconut oil twice a week and wash hair with anti-dandruff shampoo. For the last rinse, squeeze a lemon in a mug of water and rinse hair with that. If symptoms persist, consult a skin specialist. Hope this helps. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.
Avatar n tn Also, I have tried using a green mouthwash as a rinse for my hair for dandruff. It worked for me.

4244557 tn?1371701336 Pre pregnancy I had some issues with dandruff which I learned to control with products that actually worked for me personally but now during pregnancy my dandruff has gotten out of hand and I can't seem to get my scalp moisturized good enough to fix the problem which is making me insecure. I really want to go get my hair cut but I'm afraid of what the stylist will think or say or react.

Avatar m tn I've always had issues with Dry Scalp and Dandruff, particularly during the winter. Over the past couple years, I've also developed some sort of scalp sores that when picked at tend to bleed. They seem to continually come back. I've tried a number of shampoos - Head and Shoulders, Nizoral, Aveda Pureformance, T/Gel, American Crew, etc. with varying results.
Avatar f tn You can use selsun dandruff shampoo too, just be careful not to get it in the eyes
Avatar n tn f you think you have lice, after you wash your hair, rinse it with a mixture of white vinegar and water (half and half). Lice do not like vinegar and will give up residence.
Avatar n tn I would try using Neutrogena shampoo alternating with a dandruff shampoo. Avoid conditioner if possible. After washing hair, rinse in a basin of cool water with about a tablespoon of vinegar. Do one more rinse after that. If your city puts both chlorine and ammonia in your water system, consider getting a water filter that filters out both.
Avatar n tn Will switching to a Selsun blue or dandruff shampoo help? What should I do about the pink flaky skin around my hairline? Any help is much appreciated. Its not itchy or irritating but it does not look good and I hate having flaking.
Avatar f tn Hi there! I hope someone out there can offer some insight. I have an almost 7-year-old Boston male who is a very, very picky eater. We tried every brand under the sun and the only food he would eat unfortunately was Beneful so that's what we were feeding him. On his last vet visit the vet recommended Natural Balance. I wanted to get him on something more nutritious, so I gradually switched him over to the Natural Balance limited ingredient chicken and sweet potato variety.
Avatar f tn The first doctor prescribed a steroid cream and told me to wash my hair with dandruff shampoo and put a little of the suds in my ears and on my groin. The steroid cream worked for a couple of weeks and then stopped. A few years later a second doctor gave me samples of an anti-fungal cream and told me to use it. That did nothing. So basically I've been itching non-stop and clawing my body up pretty good for 15 years.
Avatar f tn I now have very severe dandruff, with scabs on my scalp, and my hair has begun to thin--my eyebrows are nearly as bad as my lashes. I don't know if any of this is related, but it has made me very self-conscious about it and everything I do does not help.
Avatar f tn after a few aggresive washes,it seemed as if this slime substance would rinse off. Now there is this white almost fiber looking particles stuck to my hair and scalp along with occasional Painful lumps. Also have it on my eyelashes and brows. Along my eyelids and eyeline there are small bumps. What are they? Anybody know?
Avatar f tn Hello. I'm a 20 year old male and during the fall season of 2012 my scalp started really iching and my hair started to shed severely around the crown region. During this time I also had dandruff. This itchyness and dandruff persisted for about another 3 months, that's when I jumped on Nizoral 1%. It stopped the dandruff and the itching, but till this day I'm shedding and its very noticable. My hairloss started at the crown and has worked its way up to my hairline.
4268628 tn?1375041176 But yea it happens bc of the hormones, before my outbreak now it had been 10 years since my last one. And I had very bad dandruff to, nothing worked for it. Thank god this has gone away in my second trimester.
Avatar n tn Hello, There is no medical condition as such which causes oiliness of the hair. I would suggest you to clean your hair frequently with a mild shampoo(you can use the ones for oily hair) and don’t apply any conditioner on the hair. Also you can shampoo twice during each wash and apply shampoo on the scalp without piling the hair on top. It makes sense to avoid the use of conditioner as it also tends to make the scalp oily.
Avatar f tn I don't know what too do I started too go too the er
Avatar f tn Yes I would suggest using a head and shoulders type shampoo for dandruff (you may not have dandruff but the itchyness can be apart of that) if it persists, I'd suggest maybe going to the doctors, they may be able to prescribe something for it.
Avatar f tn We sometimes use Nizoral 2% shampoo (prescription strength) - you leave it on for 3-5 minutes in the shower and rinse. It is an antifungal shampoo. The diet sounds like a strange cure, but it worked for us. Hope it helps you. You have to stick to the diet 100% for it to be effective. Good luck.
10203682 tn?1418693754 I shower everyday I just want to start with that so I don't sound gross, my doctor recommended I don't wash my hair daily because I used to and it would cause bad dandruff during the changing of the seasons, so I wash my body and rinse my hair daily.
Avatar f tn I breed toy poodles. I have three pups right now that arec10weeks and within the last 3 weeks I'm noticing more scratching in all three pups and hairless on their necks from scratching. No fleas. Vet has given them one dose of advantage once a week, their second treatment will be this monday. He thought MAYBE it could be walking dandruff but he says may not be as there's no dander full or flakey skin at all.
Avatar f tn My four year old has been scratching her head (all over her scalp) for a few weeks now. At first I thought it might be lice, but I inspect her hair every few days and haven't seen any nits or lice. As an infant she had eczema, so I thought maybe it was that, but she doesn't have any redness or bumps on her scalp. I don't think it's dandruff because thereare no flakes. We wash her hair every night in the shower with kids shampoo and use regular adult conditioner.
