I have someone with red blotches on his face starting from his hairline down the side of his face to his chin. Whenever he is in the sun, these spots get brighter and they itch. The spots are not scaly. Whenever he applies a dandruff shampoo to it, it eases and goes away. He has been told that it is the dandruff that has run down to his face.Others say that it is his high alcohol consumption which is in correlation to some liver disorder. The spots tend to look like ring worm but not exactly.
I have a rash on my face that started about 4 days ago, I don't know what it is but it is REALLY itchy, It's mostly concentrated on my cheeks, and forehead. Mostly my cheeks though, and it extends to my neck and ears. I do have a history of mild acne which has occurred on my forehead and chin but nothing to this extent. I'm dark skinned, or more like tanned so when i get acne i do have hyperpigmentation. Would cortisone help? If not is there any medication you could suggest.
I have been diagnosed with seborrheic dermatitis on my face. I was asked to take sporanox capsules by the doc for a week and consult the doc soon after. The fungal infection subsided within that period but I did not consult the doc after that. The infection has returned once again . I would like to know if I should take the capsules once again for a week and then consult the doc or meet the doc before taking them.
I have had this rash on my face for some time. I'd say 18 months, to 2 years.
Symptoms:
I have this red rash (as seen in the picture) that sometimes peels, and on rare occasions itches. It often becomes sore if I wash it with any kind of soap. If I just leave it alone most of the skin appears smooth, but in the crease on the side of my nose dead skin flakes off. Peeling rarely happens anywhere else.
It use to be just on the side, and end of my nose.
Lately, I have noticed these yellowish/brownish,waxy crusts on the crown area of my scalp. These waxy crusts attach themselves to hair follicles, and if picked at, come off with clumps of hair (sometimes 4 or 5 hairs together). These crusts do not itch or burn. I also have some redness/flaking skin occurring around my nose, eyebrows and forehead. I have done some research and the symptoms of my scalp and face seem to be consistent with seborrhiec dermatitis.
This time the bumps have become itchy and flaky. They are on my entire face, around my nose, under my eyebrows etc. However, they are not on my neck. What can I do to help alleviate this? With the numerous ingredients listed on face products now, is there any way to tell which ingredient may be causing this reaction so I can avoid it in the future? Thank you.
Also I get like red bumps on the hairline of my scalp and it spreads all through out my scalp. Even around my ears where my sideburns are. Its embarrassing because it gives me a ridiculous amount of dandruff. I use selsun blue, but it doesn't do anything. I'm thinking it might be dermatitis. What alergy medicine should I take for this?
Any news or help on this would be great.
Seborrheic dermatitis is a common skin condition that causes flaky,dry, white to yellowish scales to form on oily areas esp under the nose or anywhere on face. You can treat flaking and dryness with over-the-counter dandruff or medicated shampoos. Shampoo the hair vigorously and frequently (preferably daily). Active ingredients in these shampoos include salicylic acid, coal tar, zinc, resorcin, ketoconazole, or selenium.
She is in and out of the house alot durning the day, so it is impossible to keep sunscreen on her all the time. She has had a white patch on her forehead for several years, but I have noticed that she has about 5 spots on her this year. She doesn't get sunburnt. What can I do? Is it form the sun? Should I try to put sunscreen on her more often even though she is not getting burnt? Do I need to take her to our family doctor about these spots?
I keep getting acne right in my cleavage! It's awful! And I have this patch of acne on my cheek, and along my hairline. Oh, and on my legs! All over my calves! Haha. 16w+4... This kid is trying to make me ugly.
The rash normally does not itch but can be itchy on occasion on my body but not my face. I have no fever, fatigue, joint pain, muscle pain, nausea, diarrhea or any other serious symptoms. I will say that I am in a very competitive, stressful school program for physical therapy but have always felt like I handle my stress well--I could be wrong.
Hi Everyone, around a month ago my alt was 176 and going to start my treatment next week. Now a days i feel very very itchy specially on face and head. all of a sudden i have a whole lot of dandruff all over my head. i even used anti dandruff shampoo everyday but didn't help. is this because of Hep c? i have genotype 3. Please englighten me.
If it's the outer third of the eyebrow, you should get your thyroid checked. If you have flaking and scaling, like you have dandruff in your eyebrows, then it's probably something fungal. If it's not super red and inflamed, you could try applying some hydrocortisone cream to it. If it helps, it probably is some sort of organism causing irritation and the hair loss, and something like ketoconazole cream or even lotramin would be the thing to do.
Since August last year i have been suffering from pustules on my scalp, chest and face. i had heavy dandruff as well. I went to the doctor in September and upon pus culture found Staph bacteria. I was advised antibiotics, soap, shampoo etc. It went down. There was another outbreak in Jan and underwent a similar course again. Now i had a very heavy re-occurence with thick pustules in groups over scalp and chest and pustules on face. I went for a pus culture and E Coli was diagnosed.
