I've been diagnosed with RA and COPD. I don't know if this has anything to do with either one but my scalp constantly itches. No dandruff just itching. I've tried several different kinds of dandruff shampoo but nothing helps. Can anyone help me, it is driving me crazy.
For as far back as I can remember I've had horrible dandruff. In 2nd grade, I was so embarrassed because during a regular lice check at school, the school nurse made a nasty comment about my "cakes of dandruff." And coinciding with this dandruff is a horrible, almost unbearable itch.
No matter what i do, for the past 9 years i have had what i thought was severe dandruff. however, i have tried every single anti-dandruff solution they sell and most just make my head more itchy. its weird cuz my scalp comes off in larger chunks than i thought dandruff was. it is also slightly yellower. it is constant, i never have a break from it. its super embarassing too, because i cannot resist to itch it and once i start to scratch i can't stop for like 2 or 3 minutes.
t say it exactly whether its dandruff or what , to look at it when I cut some hair down there, some dandruff like thing fall down, but it is not of huge amount ,its very less. I can't understand what should I do . I want to be ok ...And also I have a question regarding the cream or shamppo that the doc told me to use , should I use them or not ? Actually when I visited her I didn't know about the dandruff kind of thing so I didn't tell her .
I saw this tea tree oil and pine oild anti dandruff shampoo and use it but still itch. I dont know what shampoo to use anymore. I felt my scalp itch, poking sensasation and burning. It might be fungu. My doctor looked at my scalp and said ok. Sometimes I feel my ears itch too. Because of my scalp itch, my neck also itch.
Anyone knows what I should do.
I have been suffering from dandruff for more than 10 years. I have tried Nizoral, coal tar, head and shoulder, selsum blue etc but nothing seems to help.
Especially in 3 area in my head near the centre, I big circle of dandruff forming. They can be almost the size of dime. Its thicken , raised flaky transparent skin layer with dots. I have been noticing this for atleast 4 years now. I scratch and take it out but it rebuilds in just couple of day in the excact location.
when i use a fine toothed comb on the bumps then the bristles just seem to go around the bumps,if i put pressure then it leads to the generation of huge amount of dandruff as mentioned earlier,along with 2-3 mins itch and burn, the bumps are still their with some oil around it,besides i dont use oil or conditioner,neither any gel.
First, to sooth my scalp, I am using chemical-free shampoos and conditioners (often with tea tree). I use them after a dandruff treatment, the t/gel dandruff shampoo set that contains 3 types of dandruff control, all of them are anti-fungal. I also use tea tree or sea buckthorn soap, which are natural antibacterials. (not sure that is needed, now i think it is a fungus).
To sooth my skin, I use jojoba oil and chemical-free lotions. The olive oil hair product from Hollywood Products also helps.
Once it starts itching it will get worst and worst as I itch it so I have to just ignore it until it goes away which can be very uncomfortable sometimes. I do have some dandruff and there are "scaly" dry parts on my head that I can feel and scrape off which leaves dead skin cells on my finger tips, therefore I know my scalp is dry. However, head and shoulders and other anti dandruff shampoos have done nothing at all to stop the itch.
Not a cause of concern. However you should treat dandruff as apart from the itch it can cause hair fall. It is not dangerous in itself though. You can add crushed garlic and peppercorn to coconut oil and heat it. Apply it twice in a week at night and keep overnight. There are many anti dandruff shampoos in the market which you can use. Comb your hair well and massage your scalp well. If dandruff persists consult a skin specialist. Once this resolves the lymph nodes will disappear on their own.
I immeadiately freak out and go and get checked by the nurse nothing but dandruff. I used Rexall,Vinegar, Mayo, Conditioner without evidence of lice. I was wondering if I could have irritated my scalp? I haad my friend look and she only The saw dandruff that disappeared when I washed. my hair. I have someone with red blotches on his face starting from his hairline down the side of his face to his chin. Whenever he is in the sun, these spots get brighter and they itch. The spots are not scaly. Whenever he applies a dandruff shampoo to it, it eases and goes away. He has been told that it is the dandruff that has run down to his face.Others say that it is his high alcohol consumption which is in correlation to some liver disorder. The spots tend to look like ring worm but not exactly.
These waxy crusts attach themselves to hair follicles, and if picked at, come off with clumps of hair (sometimes 4 or 5 hairs together). These crusts do not itch or burn. I also have some redness/flaking skin occurring around my nose, eyebrows and forehead. I have done some research and the symptoms of my scalp and face seem to be consistent with seborrhiec dermatitis. Any help with treatment possibilities would be appreciated.
I first started getting dandruff a while back; now I have spots that are very visible, especially when I get out of the shower. They don't really itch or hurt but they do have a redness to them, but its just really dry patches; I've tried treating them with over-the-counter dandruff shampoo but to no avail. I also have a dry-skin problem on my face and my doctor gave me Ketoconazole cream which helped, but the same cream does not remedy my scalp problems.
I had the same problem for years,until i was able to afford insurance.i was told by my doctor i had "dermatitis".there's differant kinds so you might want to look on line and see what symptoms best fits your problem.dermatitis causes severe itch,dandruff,and under the dandruff there's a rash.I'm no doctor but i think this info well help.i found it helpful to use shampoos that treat dermatitis.sence there's no cures.hope this info helps.
I have had itchy patches that itch really bad and when I itch them they bleed. My scalp will be red with blood, but it is a clear liquid that makes my hair stick together at night. It started about 3 years ago and then went away and came back last year and never cleared up. When I do itch my head, I have these big clumps of scabs that come off with it. I have tried T-gel shampoo and nothing is helping. Can you suggest anything? I have also put neosporin on them.
I've had this problem since for about seven years now, it first started as just dandruff, but a lot of it, nothing would take it away; head and shoulders made it worse and so did selsum blue. Then the flake have gotten as big as the diameter of a 12oz soda bottle cap. Then i noticed that these large flakes looked more like scabs, and as they fell off really big red spots developed with blood under them, it has been on the top half of my scalp the whole five years.
My scalp is currently burning and itching, I'm sitting here running a brush through it because it just won't stop, my head has been kind of itchy for the passed couple weeks but I didn't think much of it since I thought it was just dandruff, it wasn't too bad until tonight, and now it's affecting my neck but not as bad my head. I haven't changed hair products, and my scalp has no signs of a rash/bumps/lice. Please offer me your best advice! Thank you!
