Dandruff and red skin

Common Questions and Answers about Dandruff and red skin

dandruff

Avatar f tn I recently started getting a really itchy face. I have had dandruff and I do still have a bit of dandruff. When I first had it I got a dry forehead as well, I thought it was part of the dandruff. But very recently I have been getting red patches on my face (under eye area, around my mouth, cheeks, and still forehead). I started getting really concerned because everything I put on my face burns so much.
Avatar m tn Honestly i do not know when it started but i am always using my finger to rub on my scalp looking for something to scratch off , i have a serious problem with dandruff it comes and goes and sometimes grow over night. When i have it bad i notice i have red spots or bumps on my scalp and i need help because i am very scared this might be some sort of disease ... can someone tell me what are these small red spots that appear ?
Avatar n tn Also in the arms, which are dry and virtually disappeared. Others are still in the outskirts of the axillae and nipples, still red and sometimes I get itchy. They are more scaly and red when I shower with hot water. As I said before, these spots are red, sometimes cause itching, are scaly and look like "wrinkled". It gives me more itchy to be very warm (it's winter here) or use woolen clothing. Use clotrimazole but I have not had any improvement.
Avatar m tn I am 22 right now, when i was 15, i had very oily skin. Then i had a period of acne, dry skin and dandruff. Right now, i have these red patches around nose, around my hairline and my collarbone. The ones at my hairline and collarbone are itchy. and Sometimes i feel itching sensation on random parts of body but no rashes. I also have dandruff, it's been 7/8 years with it, I use zinc pyrothine shampoo but it's temporary solution.
Avatar n tn The spots are not scaly. Whenever he applies a dandruff shampoo to it, it eases and goes away. He has been told that it is the dandruff that has run down to his face.Others say that it is his high alcohol consumption which is in correlation to some liver disorder. The spots tend to look like ring worm but not exactly. When the weather becomes cool, it also surfaces. What do you think this condition sounds like?
Avatar f tn You can also take vit B6 and vit A and E which are good for hair and skin. Try medicated shampoos for dandruff. There are a number of over-the-counter shampoos available that can help. The most effective ingredients -- antimicrobials -- to look for are zinc pyridinethione, selenium sulfide, sulfur and ketoconazole (also available by prescription). If your hair is colored, don't use products with selenium sulfide or sulfur.
Avatar f tn Sounds like he needs to see a dr to see if he has some kind of staph infection in his blood, that is causing the pimples/boils.

Avatar n tn s lost the 3 extra pounds he was carrying and his muscle tone looks wonderful. And as I said, his coat actually looks really nice and shiny. But he still has dandruff, and some days it's only a few flakes, but some days it's really, really bad! He NEVER scratches. I'm home with him all day, and he doesn't scratch or bite at himself or seem the least bit uncomfortable, and his energy levels seem normal as well. His skin doesn't seem dry, which seems weird.
Avatar n tn Thank you so much, I went and bought the dandruff shampoo and I got a steroid cream to put on my face for the itching. It seems to be doing better, I will have to wait and see because last night was the first time using it. (so far no more burning, the itching has decreased and the redness has went down) Would using a hypoallergenic moisturizer on my face help? I was also wondering, is this something that I will have for the rest of my life or will it go away and not return?
Avatar n tn i have 2 perfectly round red circles on my chest they do not itch or cause any kind of discomfort. They are 2in and 1in and im just wondering if they are something bad and i have no medical insurance.
Avatar m tn So, I headed back to the doctor and saw my regular GP this time, who prescribed me with Betnovate scalp application for the red area on the top of my head that he noticed and advised that I should then move onto Nizoral Dandruff Shampoo and Simple Shampoo - Simple as a shampoo to prevent irritation and Nizoral as a dandruff solution. Well, I have done everything that he has advised and I'm still no better off for any of it.
Avatar m tn For about a month now my penis head (glans) has been having some slight reddish bumps and after masturbation or frisky sex sometimes gets quite red and itches. The frenelum (I am uncircumsized) particularly gets itchy and the urethral meatus can be quite red as well. It is not like photos I have seen online of balanitis where there are huge red patches that look like they are going to bleed...just tiny little red bumps.
Avatar f tn i have red bumps all over my scalp and it has been there for about 2 years. i have a habit of scratching my head even if it is not itchy. whenever i slip my fingers onto my scalp i kind of feel a rough tiny tiny thing and i will pluck it or just scratch it of. it would always be a very tiny piece of dead skin and sometimes it would be a tiny white solid really tiny. i did not lose hair or feel itchy but im scared.

Avatar m tn Anyway, having problems with my skin. Near hairline, patchy red and a flakes a bit, on forehead red/pinkish patches/blotchiness. Also Anxiety seems to trigger this, the most recent bout went down to my neck/chest and shoulders no flaking but red/pink and blotchy, rash? Mild slight irritant. Lasted 2 days then went away completely. Have had bouts of Rosecea on cheeks and nose. Have had bouts of severe anxiety/stress and it seems to be the worst times for this.
Avatar n tn It is a skin disorder affecting the scalp, face, and trunk causing scaly, flaky, itchy, red skin. It particularly affects the sebum-gland rich areas of skin. Side effects to inflammation may include temporary hair loss. If severe outbreaks are untreated for extended intervals, permanent hair loss may result, because of damage to hair follicles. http://en.wikipedia.
Avatar n tn Oral antihistamine medications would help if the lesions are itchy. Also check out dandruff in your scalp as dandruff falling on skin may block the oil glands and cause folliculitis and acne. If the symptoms persist then pls consult a dermatologist. Hope it helps .Take care and pls do keep us posted in case you have any additional queries.Kind regards.
Avatar m tn -around 15 I started getting bad dandruff. My scalp would become very greasy and scaly. I still get dandruff and my hair is very oily (just like my face.. oily + dry) -around this young age I also used to get patches of itchy red skin on my face some times... almost looked like sun burn -I also used to get flaky yellowish patches of skin on my face -The inside of my ears and directly behind them are usually dry -Currently I don't usually get any red patches on my face..
Avatar f tn My forarms have developed eczema type rash (very dry, red, cracked patches) my face is super oily and super dry at the same time! And my scalp is always itchy. What is this? Make it stop! I'm 10 weeks with my first.
Avatar f tn I plan to see a dermatologist in 2 days after my exams end because the patches and itching is getting worse. The skin on the patches is raised a bit and if i scratch it, red patches develop. and a lot of flakes fall out when i scratch or brush my hair. I will let you know what the doctor says. Thank you for your concern and help.
Avatar m tn It shows up as well in my eyebrows. My eyebrows dry out and peel skin underneath the hair. I hate it. Also I get like red bumps on the hairline of my scalp and it spreads all through out my scalp. Even around my ears where my sideburns are. Its embarrassing because it gives me a ridiculous amount of dandruff. I use selsun blue, but it doesn't do anything. I'm thinking it might be dermatitis. What alergy medicine should I take for this? Any news or help on this would be great.
