Common Questions and Answers about Crestor blood pressure

crestor

Avatar f tn I am looking for something to help naturally to get off as many of the medicines I take as possible. Also can you let me know of anything for lower blood pressure and sugar levels?
Avatar m tn A heart healthy diet, losing weight and regular exercise (if your doctor clears you to do so) can help. However, high blood pressure is often due to hereditary factors. As your blood pressure lowered on medication in a weeks time, it's obviously the medication working. Please note that the target is 120/80, so your blood pressure is STILL moderately elevated. Crestor is for your cholesterol and that would be a medication that is not temporary as well, most likely.
1277632 tn?1327594715 The other possibility is that beyond a point your blood pressure really falls thus hampering circulation. Hence a 24 hour blood pressure monitoring should be done. Diabetes and hypothyroidism should be ruled out. Do consult your doctor regarding these possibilities. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar n tn The medicines she takes cause her chest pain, shortness of breath, and make her dizzy. Her blood pressure checks out ok, but is the medicine for the blood pressure causing this pain. Some days she is ok and other days the pain comes in the morning and lasts all day. Of all the medecines she takes which is most likely the culprit. Is there any alternatives.
Avatar f tn About ten years ago I went to an armload of specialists (vascular, cardiology, rheumatology, orthopedist, internal medicine, emergency medicine) none of whom ever heard of this problem, but pronounced me in otherwise excellent health. I have low blood pressure, take meds regularly for allergies, not overweight, recently started taking hormone replacement therapy.
Avatar f tn Doctors in hospitals assume emergency situations and try to stabilize the patient. For long-term treatment, you need a diagnosis. She's on blood pressure medication and meds for cholesterol, but docs often just pile this stuff on. Only way to know if she needs it or if there are safer alternatives is to see a specialist. With a definite diagnosis, you can research different modalities of treatment.
Avatar n tn 1 month later he was not saticfied with the drop in cholestoral so he put me on a fairley new drug called Trilipix. I take 10mg of lisinopril for high blood pressure, 10 mg of crestor, and 145mg of trilipix. After being put on the trilipix I started felling tired and having stomache problems (constipated and cramping). I went back to have my a1c check last week and it was 8.0.
Avatar n tn Supplementing with Coenzyme Q10 has been shown in studies to decrease blood pressure slightly in those with high blood pressure. It has also been studied for slowing dementia, and reducing angina, symptoms associated with heart failure and other symptoms associated with heart -related illnesses. I recommend Coen Q10 to all patients with cardiac disease regardless of the presence of myopathy, because I have seen significant benefit in my practice patients. The safety profile is very good.
Avatar n tn There are many other drugs to control blood pressure so sometimes it takes a few tries so discuss this with your doctor. Also, as I'm sure you are aware, Crestor is a statin designed to control your cholesterol levels and is most likely a result of your family history. It sounds like your doctor is trying to stay ahead of your family history and prevent a repeat performance.

Avatar n tn t forget that low blood pressure can also give you the same symptoms, if you pressure is under 90/60 you can experience the symptoms you describe as well.
Avatar f tn I have the same results as you do. My blood pressure is about 130/90 and my cholesterol was 298. I am taking Crestor 20 mg a day, my ejection factor is 55 which they say is normal but I still take all these medicines for Congestive Heart Failure. Have you ever been tested for Atrial Fibrillation? If not, it is very important. It's when your heart races real fast. I have it and I am 61 years old but I take Multaq and Digoxin in very small doses. Some days I feel so weak.
Avatar m tn after a heavy session aerobics and gym my blood pressure was 183/99 pulse 92. Can this damage my heart? I'm 85, one stent 2010, I can do 5kms bike and gym and be sick - nausea, anxiety belly ache, body malaise, pre syncope, drop- down fatigue in the same day and cannot identify the cause. (these events can be in reverse order). Medicines: Rhythmol 150, Coreg 6.5, aspirin, levothyroxine .75, Crestor 10 alternate days. But how about that 183/99? (in 15 mins it was down to 122/71 p77.
Avatar m tn For the past 12 years my cardiologist has had me take 20mg of Crestor daily and two capsules of Seacor 1000mg; additionally I have been taking two capsules of 1200 mg of Omega 3-6-9. My blood pressure is 130/80. My cardiologist has said my condition is stable. My last blood test had the following results: total cholesterol 96mg/dl, cholesterol HDL 26mg/dl, cholesterol LDL 34 mg/dl, triglyceride 181 mg/dl.
Avatar f tn Do you measure your blood pressure as well? Everyone's body is different, but I know for myself, if my pulse rate goes low (like 45-55) AND my blood pressure is low (around 100/65 or lower), I feel very tired and washed out. If my pulse is just low but my blood pressure is OK, I feel fine. What medications are you taking?
Avatar f tn I just had a cardiac catheterization done. No major blockage, so no stent, just a catheterization. The Dr. said there was plaque buildup on the outside of the artery, which causes it to bulge out, rather than the typical plaque buildup narrowing the artery. Just had this done three days ago, and of course I was kind of fuzzy when he was explaining this. Don't go for follow-up for a couple of weeks. Also, they put me on Crestor, Plavix and metoprolol for blood pressure.
Avatar m tn There was also a warning to use caution in patients who have severe high blood pressure. As far as I can tell, there are no known interactions between Symbicort and blood pressure medicines. If you're concerned about how high your blood pressure gets after taking Symbicort, I'd talk to your doctor.
Avatar n tn Pulse pressure is the difference in blood pressure between the systolic blood pressure and the diastolic blood pressure. Pulse pressure in healthy adults in a sitting position is about 40 mmHg. Your have a wide pulse pressure of 93mmHg.
Avatar f tn Hello Diane, "The FDA now says that Crestor should be prescribed for prevention's sake in men ages 50 and up and women 60 and older with normal "bad" cholesterol levels only if they have a CRP of 2 mg/L or higher as well as at least one characteristic that puts them at risk for cardiovascular disease.
Avatar f tn Hello I have been taking generic Crestor for about two years. It has dropped my LDL to 39-45 range and blood glucose ranges from 105-111 fasting. A1c 5.1 - 5.3. Prior to the statin I was below 100. I am not overweight, exercise consistently and eat very healthy. So the statin is the culprit. I am wondering if being stricter on carb intake and supplementing with Berberine will help? Or has anyone had better outcomes with other statins like livalo or pravastatin?
Avatar f tn hi! My Dr put me on Crestor, 40 mg once a day for high cholesterol and coronary plaque buildup..... Today is my 4th day taking it. Ive seen the commercials...and Ive researched online...It seems ok...Ive tolerated Lipitor in the past with absolutly NO side effects. I just noticed today that i seem to be sore...in my shoulder and neck.... as when I would shrug my shoulders...the muscles there seem sore when I do that. Now, maybe I did something...? Sat the wrong way, slept the wrong way...
Avatar n tn What did they do to stop the vasospasm? There is nothing wrong with your cholesterol level, it is lower than average. It's a bit like saying you should take blood pressure pills when your pressure is 120/70. I can tell you from experience (triple bypass and 10 stents) that statins don't stop the disease. I think it is more than likely all the other lifestyle changes a patient makes. If he was that concerned about a 30% blockage (which is small), he should have stented it.
Avatar n tn assuming blood pressure pill co-tareg 160/25, tiklid 250, beta blockers "secuacor 2,5", CRESTOR 10 MG, AFTER A TRIPLE BYPASS, I AM EXPERIENCING A BURNING MOUTH SINDROME , ACCORDING TO LITERATURE THE ARA2 ARE THE MOST POSSIBLE CAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM. WHAT CAN I DO AND WHAT IS YOUR OPINION.
