Avatar f tn bilirubin (which gives the normal brown color to the stool) is not excreted from the liver into intestine (as it should), but it rather enters directly into the blood, and from there into the skin (itching) and into urine (dark color). In general, there are two reasons, why bilirubin is not excreted into intesine: 1. extrahepatic cholestasis - a blockage outside the liver prevents bile flow. Gallstone, impacted within the hepatobiliary duct is the most often cause. 2.
Avatar n tn I did some research on crestor after I posted my first question and saw that there have been lots of issues with Crestor raising blood sugars in type 2 diabetics. The Crestor site even says that this can happen. If you google Crestor raising blood sugars there are many websites that come up. I am not disputing the fact that diabetes is progressive, but it is just so odd that days after starting these meds my blood sugars started getting out of wack.
Avatar f tn Had 2 more urine tests that showed no blood in the urine, so I was thinking maybe the Aggrenox was causing this. We still haven't figured out why there was blood in the urine because I had a Cystoscopy and ultrasound of kidneys and everything turned out fine. You were great help and thank you! Will keep you informed.
Avatar n tn My Asthma Dr. said that he would consider changing from Lipitor 5 mg to Crestor (dosage not yet mentioned) after 1 more blood test. 3 years ago another dr. suggested a change, but cardiologist said no need to. Another Dr. (forum) suggested using, in addition to Fish oil for tri-glycerides, niacin. And he said statin users should take CO-enzyme Q 300 mg.
Avatar f tn //www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/high-blood-cholesterol/in-depth/statin-side-effects/art-20046013 I would talk to your doctor about the best course of action. If supplementation will help, medication or a switch in statin.
Avatar n tn However, there is also the risk of liver inflammation due to the medicine Crestor® (rosuvastatin) and it is conceivable that there could be an additive effect of Crestor® (rosuvastatin) and INH. In addition, niacin may increase the risk of muscle disease called myopathy when used with Crestor® (rosuvastatin). Crestor® (rosuvastatin) significantly increases the INR (enhances the effect of Coumadin to make your blood “thinner” than it would be alone.
Avatar n tn I could be wrong here, but I believe the uric acid is maybe the PH level in your urine. My urologist has me on potassium citrate because she says my urine is too acidy.. This is just my two cents worth.
Avatar f tn Hello I have been taking generic Crestor for about two years. It has dropped my LDL to 39-45 range and blood glucose ranges from 105-111 fasting. A1c 5.1 - 5.3. Prior to the statin I was below 100. I am not overweight, exercise consistently and eat very healthy. So the statin is the culprit. I am wondering if being stricter on carb intake and supplementing with Berberine will help? Or has anyone had better outcomes with other statins like livalo or pravastatin?
Avatar f tn Not that new; I've been on it for almost a year with good results and no problems. But my best lipid results ( raising HDL, lowering LDL and Lp(a) ) came from taking RX Niacin which I take with the 10 mg Crestor and 325 mg aspirin at bedtime. No problems with Niacin either.I take RX fish oil also as I am in big time prevention mode due to cardiac microvascular dysfunction.

Avatar n tn I have had five urine test that showed blood in my urine with no infection. I am not pregnant. I am 41. I have endometriosis. I hope that this has nothing to do with the endo. My pain is in my back just under my bra line on the left. It runs down the left side of my back and on the lower left. Sometimes I get the same pain on the right side, but most of the time it is on the left. It is a burning sensation. It also runs up into my shoulder and down my left arm.

Avatar m tn Hello, Microscopic hematuria can be due to urinary tract (bladder) infection, swelling in the filtering system of the kidneys, stone in bladder or in a kidney, blood disease, like sickle cell anemia, certain medicines and tumors in the urinary tract. You should get done a cystoscopy. I also suggest you to get done an ultrasound abdomen to look for any kidney stone and blood tests for sickle cell anemia.
Avatar f tn Blood in urine is a sign of a really bad bladder infection or kidney stones..I had kidney stones with my first and never peed blood..got kidney stones again this pregnancy was peeing blood they said bladder infection but I ended up in hospital 3 days later with kidney stone attack so I either had both or was trying to pass stones..I would call my doctor so they can get a urine sample while you are peeing the blood out..
Avatar f tn Went into the dr this morning because of pain in my side and I noticed blood in my urine yesterday. They checked for a UTI which I don't have but did say there is quite a bit of blood in the urine and not really sure what's going on. Any ideas?
Avatar f tn So I had an appt on wednesday and they said there was some blood in my urine and sent it off for testing. This morning, I was able to notice it myself finally. Should I wait until my appt on Tuesday since the doctor didn't seem too concerned or should I go to the hospital? I'm 35 weeks and I'm not feeling any pain other than normal baby pushing on bladder and my sides hurt when I wake up, so idk if I should be concerned or not.
Avatar f tn Has anyone has blood present in their urine while pregnant? I am 30w pregnant and i noticed drops of blood when I am almost done peeing, thus I see light pink when I wipe. Went to see a doctor n they ran some tests on urine n there is definitely blood so now I am just waiting for doctor to view the results n get back to me w some treatment. Just curious how others were treated... Thanks in advance!
Avatar f tn Yesterday I went to a routine midwife appointment and as usual I took a urine sample for her to check. She told me that there were traces of blood in the urine and that it had to be sent off for further tests. I'm a bit concerned as this has never happened before does anyone know what it could be or have had this themselves?
