I quit taking it...not just because of that but I was also having terrible muscle spasms....I don't think enough research has been done on this med.....
Avatar f tn Had been on Augmentin for a sinus infection, just finishing up the script, and take Crestor, Nexium, and Zyrtec on a regular basis. Symptoms started a few days after starting generic Zyrtec, which also caused unbelievable dryness that felt like I was dehydrated (no vomiting, though). A day after the chills, I noticed my urine was dark and my stools were very light, almost gray, and I started getting very itchy but no rash.
Avatar m tn I have been under stress from quitting chewing and was not feeling well about a week before this blood test and gave myself a testosterone injection about 3-5 days before blood work. I stopped drinking beer about a month prior to test and went to hard alcohol because I didn't want the calories of the beer. I am not a heavy drinker and have maybe 2-4 drinks a week but sometimes dont drink at all for weeks.
Avatar f tn The office told me that my cholesterol levels were fine, blood sugar was fine, thyroid levels were fine, but that my CRP levels were really elevated at 14.6. She wants me to take Crestor to bring them down I'm more inclined to want to find out why they are up instead of only looking to bring them down with a drug to treat high cholesterol which I don't have. While trying to research reasons for CRP levels to be elevated I saw that it could be related to thyroid disorders.
Avatar f tn Some natural ways to treat high blood pressure are to increase aerobic exercise, limit salt intake to 2,400 mg, trying to eat at least 3,500 mg of potassium a day, from foods such as yogurt, cantaloupe, spinach, and bananas, limit alcohol consumption, and even trying some forms of meditation. Some supplements that may help with blood sugar are GTF chromium, magnesium, Alpha-lipoic acid, and Coenzyme Q10. Please talk with your doctor before taking any suppplements.
Avatar f tn I was put on Crestor four weeks ago for elevated cholesterol. My doctor (who retired Friday), had me come in for labs last Thursday. The nurse faxed me the results today, with a note saying the lipid panel was greatly improved. However, I noticed on the report that my TBIL had gone from .90, to 1.27 which gave me a high rating. Would crestor be the cause, and Is that high enough to be concerned about changing the meds?
Avatar m tn Also I take one grapefruit everyday and generally avoid rice, instead I take chappathi. My fasting blood sugar in the morning is between 110 and 140. Are my problems related to diabetes ?
Avatar m tn s may not do the trick but if you eat something that you think is going to make your blood sugar go up drink lots of water right after eating and it will equalize it self out i now this becuz when i was preg. with my daughter i had ges. diebetes. had to check my blood sugar 4 times a day.
Avatar n tn We do eat 2 Tbs of flaxseed with oatmeal in the morning and cut out all sugar except fruit. The diet also increases your immunity and can help with some types of cancer prevention. So it is a thought. I don't know if you have seen the video Forks over knives but that is similar to this. How high is your cholesterol without Crestor?
Avatar m tn I recently had a blood test and did the Gluclose test which I believe was a 2hr test. One of my test results said the normal ALT levels are 0-70 and my level came in at 116. Would these medications have anything to do with the levels: TriCor 145mg Metformin 850mg Lovaza formerly OmaCor 1gm Zetia 10mg Crestor 10mg I read liver issues - the blood count can be 10 to 50x higher than the normal high score (i.e. 70) and also read the meds I am on could also throw the blood counts off a bit.
Avatar n tn In January (when this latest blood work came in) it showed that my cholesterol was a bit elevated, so my doctor put me on Crestor. I took for only two months and started having severe muscle pain in my legs and arms. I stopped taking it immediately. I might also add that I was diagnosed with Gastroparesis about three years ago. I was also diagnosed with IBS-Constipation prevalent roughly four years ago.
Avatar f tn It is also possible to have elevated blood sugar if you fast for a longer than usual period. It is good that your subsequent tests were ok. Anyway, use this as your motivation to stay healthy. Minimize sugar and processed foods, exercise. A regular check of blood sugars every once in a while (and certainly every 6 months) is a good practice so you can monitor yourself over time.
Avatar m tn She has been on medication - Aspirin 81 mg, Metoprolol, Crestor and Metformin (since recently to control her elevated sugar levels) every day. She started to experience more frequent angina attacks, along with symptoms of vomiting / nausea, abdominal pain since May of this year. The angina attacks have become progressively more frequent and severe in the past 6-8 weeks. Her cardiologist has referred her for an angiogram with a possible angioplasty this coming Thursday.
Avatar f tn I was recently identified as having a high iron level and slightly elevated red blood cell count. I am worried that I will wind up with a lung aneurism, heart attack or stroke at some point if the vessel that decides to pop is located in my lung, brain or heart. The last doctor (a rheumatologist) ten years ago was so incensed that he, a prestigious MD from Harvard Medical School didn't know the cause, that he recommended I go to psychiatrist. Needless to say I did not follow Dr.
Avatar f tn My blood sugar has recently been elevated. I have no family history of Diabetes. Could this elevation be due to side effects of some of these medications I'm taking?
1806721 tn?1554333407 Also not mentioned, the FDA is eliminating the risk of liver damage from the list of side effects and that the link to Memory loss, confusion, high blood sugar, and type 2 diabetes are not proven, only an observation and NO LINK HAS BEEN PROVEN. This is typical anti statin rhetoric with only part of the data being given and the rest either ignored or taken out of context.
Avatar f tn No, unfortunately, they are elevated blood sugars.
Avatar m tn Please note that the target is 120/80, so your blood pressure is STILL moderately elevated. Crestor is for your cholesterol and that would be a medication that is not temporary as well, most likely. I would work very hard on the lifestyle choices as that can greatly help but would think that you are currently experiencing a drop in blood pressure simply due to the medication and therefore, it is necessary to continue. https://www.heart.
Avatar n tn s increasing enzyme levels? I am on Pantoprazole 2 years and just recently have elevated ALT. Regular blood tests over 10 years and have never been elevated till now.
Avatar f tn You should check two hours after eating for a more reliable indication of diabetes or blood sugar problems, before a meal you should be between 70-99 and two hours after you should be 140 or below.
Avatar f tn At 72, I've never had any doctor address anything regarding an elevated blood sugar level from bloodwork done every 6 months! Had bloodwork done 2 weeks ago, my blood sugar level is 133...how do I deal with this? What has caused this? Doctor is concerned, not frantic about this today, but I am alarmed.
