1413519 tn?1281818201 He was sent to a specialist. Treatment plan, antibiotic drops, steroid drops, as well as some type of drops to help his pupil to shrink. Although his redness has diminished, his pupil is HUGE and he has very poor vision from that eye. This is after about 2 1/2 weeks of incident and 1 week of specialist treatment plan. I tried to surf net for information with little results. Any guess of outcome would be appreciated. Thank you.
Avatar f tn I had a follow up yesterday and the optician said everything looked fine with my eyes and she could not pinpoint why my vision was blurred. I was given a variety of dry eye drops to try and was told to come back in 2 weeks. How long will it take for my eyesight to get back to where it was? I didn't have perfect vision but I never needed my glasses 24/7 either. I'm freaking out here.
1108194 tn?1378424522 She is also on Glaucoma eye drops. She is experiencing extreme fatigue and she said her thoughts/memory seem fuzzy. How long do these side effects last? My mother is a small person who doesn't take any other medications except for the eyes. She works out everyday. She isn't up to that either. Does she have to get these every 4 weeks or can they space them out more or lesser dose?
Avatar m tn I have read a ton online about horrible side effects. I figure most people would post these types of stories rather than success stories. What is the truth? How safe should I feel taking this drug? I voiced my concern to my family doctor and he seems to back the drug. I took one pill and feel some slight side effects so far, but nothing extremely serious.
Avatar m tn I just thought there was no way eye drops could have side effects . But the results from a switch were a pleasant surprise. Doc said sometimes drops are not effective anymore and a change works. Thanks .
Avatar n tn It should only be used when all other antibiotics have failed to work. The drug companies are not telling the doctors of the severe side effects of this medication, and doctors are handing it out like candy. Make sure your father doesn't take this or nay other antibiotic in this family. The FDA is working on getting a black box warning on this drug or banning it. If your father's blood is bright red, then it is coming from the colon, which can be polyps, fissures, or hemmorhoids.
Avatar f tn I saw a physician today who did an EKG and it was normal, but my pulse was between 100 - 120 (normal for me is 60) and my blood pressure was 154/84 (normal for me is 120/80. He looked up the side effects from the Durezol and Ilevro eye drops I'm using and found they can cause increased heart rate and high blood pressure. I have no history of heart problems. In fact, I'm a runner.
Avatar m tn The possible side effects scare me. Can I gradually taper off the frequency of these steroids as long as the eye stays clear and comfortable? I saw some recommendations on-line for lowering frequency in 2nd week to 3x per day and 2x per day in 3rd week.
Avatar m tn My GP then prescribed Predsol (Prednisolone Sodium Phosphate) drops - one drop three times daily for five days. The list of side effects looks quite scary and so far I havn't used them. The side effects include: "Glaucoma, blurred vision or problems with sight, enlarged pupils, drooping of the upper eyelid, thinning of the cornea or sclera which can lead to perforation.
Avatar n tn I had the same surgery 8 weeks ago and found I was allergic to the preservitives in the eye drops which has left me with a chronic dry sore eye. I can't sleep at night because of the scratching and burning sensation. I don't think it will ever get better as every day is the same. I have been told to scrub the eyelids twice a day with diluted baby shampoo but this has added to my pain as my eyelids are raw with that. Sorry it not good news and I hope you do better than I have.
Avatar n tn I am currently using an eye drop known as ciprocet which is composed of ciproflaxin hydrochloride usp, eq. to ciprofloxacin, benzalkonium, chloride nf . Thanks for your contribution.

Avatar f tn Yesterday (7/19/2016) I was diagnosed with not one, not two but THREE corneal ulcers in my left eye from contact misuse. My ophthalmologist prescribed me Ciprofloxacin (0.3%) eye drops for treatment. For two days, he has my putting one drop in my eye every two waking hours and then keeping my eye shut for four minutes so the drops don't drain out.
Avatar m tn l have been taking azarga eye drops twice a day for ten years and only noticeable side effect was some minor dry eye which l take lubricating eye drops. was wondering if l keep taking azarga for another ten or twenty years could the eye drops themselves cause any long term serious eye problems that could affect my vision ? What is the safest glaucoma eye drop with least side effects to take long term or are they all pity much all safe.
429949 tn?1224691579 Does anyone have any experience with these drops or have had any bad side effects from using them? I know what the information on the prescribing list says, but I trust someone who has actually taken them more than what that insert inside the box says! Any info would help!
Avatar f tn I was feeling worse daily with every bad symptom in the list of Combigan side effects, so my eye doctor took me off them. Now I use one drop of Prednisalone in each eye daily plus, seven drops daily in my left eye of Pred Forte (generic) drops and four of this drop in my right eye. I also am half way through a series of recurrant wet macula degeneration, the Retina specialist using Avastin. Today i will ask my Opthomologist about continuing that process.
Avatar n tn ...I left out: Pfizer makes Xalatan. By the way, if you use pills, your MD (I doubt) will agree, because the drug is not concentrated in the eye, plus you have "systemic" side effects because the drug is running through your body (rather than staying mostly in the eye). Xalatan, and the others that are similar lower IOP more than other drug classes...you need to ask what your IOP is and see that it stays in the healthy range, since glaucoma damage can be permanent. However...
Avatar f tn If you are going to trust your eyes and vision to this Eye MD you need to do what he says. Those are excellent suggestions. It possible you don't have glaucoma and are just a "glaucoma suspect" If you do have glaucoma there are other eye drops with fewer side effects you can try (latanoprost).
