Yesterday (7/19/2016) I was diagnosed with not one, not two but THREE corneal ulcers in my left eye from contact misuse. My ophthalmologist prescribed me Ciprofloxacin (0.3%) eye drops for treatment. For two days, he has my putting one drop in my eye every two waking hours and then keeping my eye shut for four minutes so the drops don't drain out.

Both gonorrhea and chlamydia can infect the eye, but it's true that you could have a viral eye infection not related to a STD. Other STDs can infect the eye, too. You need to go visit with a Eye MD (ophthalmologist) so that these can be ruled out. Syphillis and HIV need to be checked off the list, too. Best of luck!
Slight indication of infection/soreness at incisor site prior to cipro. Docs not back till tomorrow, do I not ingest todays dosage?
I have been using antibiotics (polymyxin B, Gentamicin, dexamethasone) and steroid (prednisolone) eye drops and hypertonic saline 5% solution. Post operative, I have orally taken prednisolone 30mg daily for 3 days, ciprofloxacin tablets 500mg twice a day for 5 days, Acetazolamide 1 tab twice a day for 5 days. After a week I was added Timolol eye drops followed by brimonidine tartrate.
However, I do know that in general prenisolone acetate opthalmic soluction eye drops are prescribed to help combat inflammation. Generally, they are used after eye surgeries to help the eye heal. Since prednisolone is a steroid it can cause an increased susceptibility to infections so it may be paired with an antibiotic such as ciprofloxacin or gatifloxacin. As with all medicines it is important to seek the advice of your physician about its safety.
Has anyone been prescribed Nevanac eye drops for post Vitrectomy/ERM peel surgery ?
I was prescribed to take this for 3 months (didn't even have the surgery yet) but the online medical information on it says not to take it for more than 14 days or there could be serious side effects.
I'm not big on "blind faith" with what any Doctor just says, especially when it contradicts the warnings to this extreme.
I'm a 33 year old Male, I eat healthy and exercise regularly. 6 months ago I ended up with a stomach sickness that had me laid up for a week (nausea, diarrhea, vomiting). At the end of that I ended up with a eye infection, I went to a fast clinic and they said I had pinkeye, antibiotics and eye drops for a week didn't do anything. Went to a opthamologist and they said it's ocular herpes not pink eye.
my mother was diagnosed with mrsa in her eyes, she was cultured and it came back positive . they gave her antibiotics by iv in the hospital, and sent her home with ciprofloxacin drops for her eyes. her eyes were red and swollen when she was diagnosed with this. all this went away for about a month. now it is back. im worried the mrsa is active again. does she need more antibiotics. i know mrsa is resistant to most antibiotics, but shouldnt you try them to see if they will work?
I had to have a root canal redone as my previous dentist did not get the whole nerve and it became infected. The Dentist put me on amoxicillin 875mg twice a day, after 6 days I called him as it was having no effect. he then put me on clyndamycin 300mg twice a day, this is day two, it seemed better this morning and by this afternoon it isswelling slightly the tissue above my tooth is spongie again and I can tell it's filling with pus.

I had LASIK on Aug 15. Doctor put me on TobraDex 2 Drops every 2 Hours for the firs day. Second Day he reduced the dosage to 4 drops a day but I mis understood & but 2 drops in each eye 4 times a day. After a week the doctor measured My eye pressure & noted it was a little high. He gave me Alphagan 2 drops a day to control the IOP and asked me to take the topradex 4 times a day for 1 week (one drop each time), then gradually reduce the dosage by one drop every week.
Hi l have been taking Azarga eye drops ( Timolol and Brinzolamide0 for 8 years twice a day with not much side effects except some dry eye, but recently it stopped being as effective in lowering the pressure so my eye specialist also put me on Travatan also ( Travoprost ) so l am now taking azarga twice a day and travatan one a day, the additional travatan has been successful in lowering my presssure but taking all these drops making my eyes more dry and slightly sore.
I had a follow up yesterday and the optician said everything looked fine with my eyes and she could not pinpoint why my vision was blurred. I was given a variety of dry eye drops to try and was told to come back in 2 weeks.
How long will it take for my eyesight to get back to where it was? I didn't have perfect vision but I never needed my glasses 24/7 either. I'm freaking out here.
Hi, just before christmas, i woke up one morning with a really red, tender left eye, after a couple of days of seeing different doctors i was sent to the hospital with an emergency eye appointment. The doctor diagmosed me with iritis & gave me maxidex drops to take 8 times a day.

Iritis is treated with steroid eye drops and red top drops that keep the pupil dilated and at rest. Chances are they treated you with dilation drops that are very long lasting. Sometime oral steroids or steroid injections are needed.

Is the antibiotic ciprofloxacin effective to treat chlamydia? If so, what dosage?
So i was hesitant to continue giving the full dosage as is seems to be causing irritation at this point and her eye looks perfect otherwise.
We JUST walked in the door from the 10 day check up with the ophthalmologist and the vet said her internal eye is 100% normal. No more swelling, no more of whatever reaction was happening because of the vaccine, but that her top eyelid is still a little inflamed (she said its 90% normal).
Around August of last year I was diagnosed with prostatitis after having pink semen (hematospermia) for a couple weeks and sometimes a few drops of blood mixed with urine at the end of my stream. I was put on ciprofloxacin for two weeks and my symptoms cleared up.
About a week ago I noticed I peed a few drops of blood after my morning bowel movement. Since last year I've come out as transgender and thought maybe the blood was an injury from tucking my penis all day the day before.
