1413519 tn?1281818201 He was sent to a specialist. Treatment plan, antibiotic drops, steroid drops, as well as some type of drops to help his pupil to shrink. Although his redness has diminished, his pupil is HUGE and he has very poor vision from that eye. This is after about 2 1/2 weeks of incident and 1 week of specialist treatment plan. I tried to surf net for information with little results. Any guess of outcome would be appreciated. Thank you.
Avatar n tn I am currently using an eye drop known as ciprocet which is composed of ciproflaxin hydrochloride usp, eq. to ciprofloxacin, benzalkonium, chloride nf . Thanks for your contribution.
Avatar f tn Yesterday (7/19/2016) I was diagnosed with not one, not two but THREE corneal ulcers in my left eye from contact misuse. My ophthalmologist prescribed me Ciprofloxacin (0.3%) eye drops for treatment. For two days, he has my putting one drop in my eye every two waking hours and then keeping my eye shut for four minutes so the drops don't drain out.
Avatar m tn Hi nightrunner21, Both gonorrhea and chlamydia can infect the eye, but it's true that you could have a viral eye infection not related to a STD. Other STDs can infect the eye, too. You need to go visit with a Eye MD (ophthalmologist) so that these can be ruled out. Syphillis and HIV need to be checked off the list, too. Best of luck!
Avatar n tn I have been using antibiotics (polymyxin B, Gentamicin, dexamethasone) and steroid (prednisolone) eye drops and hypertonic saline 5% solution. Post operative, I have orally taken prednisolone 30mg daily for 3 days, ciprofloxacin tablets 500mg twice a day for 5 days, Acetazolamide 1 tab twice a day for 5 days. After a week I was added Timolol eye drops followed by brimonidine tartrate.
Avatar n tn However, I do know that in general prenisolone acetate opthalmic soluction eye drops are prescribed to help combat inflammation. Generally, they are used after eye surgeries to help the eye heal. Since prednisolone is a steroid it can cause an increased susceptibility to infections so it may be paired with an antibiotic such as ciprofloxacin or gatifloxacin. As with all medicines it is important to seek the advice of your physician about its safety.
1462097 tn?1285902476 After coming home and using the Ciprofloxacin drops nothing has changed and in fact the membrane seems to be protruding from under my lid. When I look in the mirror I can see it above the lower and outside corner. When should I seek a second opinion on the matter because I have also had sever stomach/digestive problems and may be diagnosed with Crohns or colitis which makes me think it may be Uveitis?
Avatar f tn I'm a 33 year old Male, I eat healthy and exercise regularly. 6 months ago I ended up with a stomach sickness that had me laid up for a week (nausea, diarrhea, vomiting). At the end of that I ended up with a eye infection, I went to a fast clinic and they said I had pinkeye, antibiotics and eye drops for a week didn't do anything. Went to a opthamologist and they said it's ocular herpes not pink eye.
Avatar f tn my mother was diagnosed with mrsa in her eyes, she was cultured and it came back positive . they gave her antibiotics by iv in the hospital, and sent her home with ciprofloxacin drops for her eyes. her eyes were red and swollen when she was diagnosed with this. all this went away for about a month. now it is back. im worried the mrsa is active again. does she need more antibiotics. i know mrsa is resistant to most antibiotics, but shouldnt you try them to see if they will work?
Avatar f tn I had a follow up yesterday and the optician said everything looked fine with my eyes and she could not pinpoint why my vision was blurred. I was given a variety of dry eye drops to try and was told to come back in 2 weeks. How long will it take for my eyesight to get back to where it was? I didn't have perfect vision but I never needed my glasses 24/7 either. I'm freaking out here.
471737 tn?1327252451 Gentamycin is not a good eye drops to use chronically in the eye nor is it a good treatment of recurrent styes or chalazia. Use the search feature and archives and also your favorite search engine and read about "blepharitis" which is the most common cause of the problems. You need to see an ophthalmologist and come up with a plan to keep the condition under control. One thing that is very important is to keep the lids clean of oil and debris.
Avatar m tn Around August of last year I was diagnosed with prostatitis after having pink semen (hematospermia) for a couple weeks and sometimes a few drops of blood mixed with urine at the end of my stream. I was put on ciprofloxacin for two weeks and my symptoms cleared up. About a week ago I noticed I peed a few drops of blood after my morning bowel movement. Since last year I've come out as transgender and thought maybe the blood was an injury from tucking my penis all day the day before.
Avatar n tn If you got hit in eye recently or similar incidents like that then It can create weak spots inside eye which could create tiny floaters, but in most cases it will not create much problem.
Avatar n tn My mom and dad think I should do what the doctor told me and keep using the eye drops (ciprofloxacin) for cataract. I don't know what to do.. if I insist that I should see another doctor they might become angry. Is it possible that the thing I circled could be an allergy? Do you think it could aggravate? If it's an allergy the medication for cataract could have killed it because it's not only for cataract but for general allergies?
Avatar n tn Hi Deek, If you think, what you are having in your ear is fungal infection then you should stop the Ciprofloxacin ear drops first as it will worsen your condition. Take some antihistaminics (for eg. Cetrizine/Fexofenadine) and meanwhile you can try with some antifungal ear drops (like Candid ear drops) but my sincere advice is to consult an ENT surgeon, in case it happens to be a fungal infection then the debris will have to be cleaned.
Avatar f tn My eyes are watering and itching so bad and super sensitive to light. Is there over the counter eye drops that are safe for pregnant people to use?
Avatar f tn I recommend you to visit your doctor's clinic to get detailed information about how to take acular eye drops & its dosage. A specialist in eye caring will going to suggest you in better way.
Avatar n tn I have been trying different eye drops for my dry eyes and the irritation. I am on prescription antibiotics as well but for inbetween. I have tried systane, thera tears, natural tears and my doc gave me optive which has perservatives and the others don't but tried them now. Does anyone find one brand better then others and is there issues with using the preservative ones? He said it was fine to use 4 times a day.
Avatar m tn I just had eye surgery. Doctor prescribed 3 different eye drop medicines for a week. Can anyone tell me what each are for? A friend told me some were dangerous to my eye? Is this true?
Avatar m tn I have been using over the counter eye drops (namely, Opcon A) daily for a few years in order to combat my red eyes. With constant use, I have noticed that they do not work nearly as well anymore, and that my eyes are redder than ever. I read into the subject and have learned that with prolonged use, your eye becomes more dependent on the drops and does in fact become redder. Every morning I wake up with eyes that are extremely bloodshot red and uncomfortable.
Avatar m tn Hello doctor thank you for helping me with my question, one more thing [smile] this is really bothering me how come the doctors could not tell that i had eye dialation drops in my eye, why cant a doctor tell the difference between a blown pupil and a dialated pupil on drops thanks so much
8464451 tn?1409883976 Just regular saline eye drops like a visine are fine. I'd just stay away from anything medicated until you talk to your Dr.
