I went back in and told the doctor, he was puzzled, told me to keep taking the cipro as maybe it was about to get worse anyway. The cipro is making me feel sick and exhausted and makes what I'm taking it for worse, so I'm not too thrilled.
Any ideas? Google has made me terrified of either IC or a tumor or cancer an I would love some reassurance that it might not be something awful.

so he put me on Tobramycin ointment, Steroid drops and Moxifloxacin drops. After a week the swelling was down, no more redness in the sclera and my palpebral conj. was less red with the blisters smaller. We got it cultured and it came back Staph. Aureus, nothing significant since it was scant and we all have that flora. So we diminished the doses of the 3 meds and after about another 10 days it looked healed. my palpebral conj. was white there was one blister left barely visible.
treatment of ceftriaxone , and another 10 days supply of doxycin. ciloxan ointment for the eye, and cipro drops for the eye.
I believe I was exposed around Nov 20th. But the urinary pain never showed up until Dec 4th. It wasn't until this happened that we thought the eye infection was an STD. So I have been on STD meds for 4 days. Still my eyes are infected and my penis burns when I urinate.
Certain collagen-rich areas of the body (such as tendons) have been well documented as being susceptible to damage by Cipro. The vitreous of the eye is largely composed of collagen fibrals which are likely as susceptible to attack by Cipro as tendons. I have been trying different eye drops for my dry eyes and the irritation. I am on prescription antibiotics as well but for inbetween. I have tried systane,thera tears,natural tears and my doc gave me optive which has perservatives and the others don't but tried them now. Does anyone find one brand better then others and is there issues with using the preservative ones? He said it was fine to use 4 times a day.
I have been using over the counter eye drops (namely, Opcon A) daily for a few years in order to combat my red eyes. With constant use, I have noticed that they do not work nearly as well anymore, and that my eyes are redder than ever. I read into the subject and have learned that with prolonged use, your eye becomes more dependent on the drops and does in fact become redder. Every morning I wake up with eyes that are extremely bloodshot red and uncomfortable.
This developed the day after taking the azithromycin and got progressively worse over the next few days until my trip to the doctor on day 18 where I was prescribed some eye drops. This began to clear it up over the next 3-4 days. In fact, I would say that the UTI and the pink eye cleared up rather symmetrically. The eyes are fine now.
My symptoms don't seem to fit together. I know gonorrhea and chlamydia can cause pink eye, but I tested negative for both.
Hi Ella43. I have VERY dry eyes, double vision and nonstop floaters. It is common with MS. My particular problems are sometimes brought on with retribular neuritis which is optical neuritis but behind the eye. I've learnred to just ignore it or stop working on computer or reading for a while to give the eyes a test.
I don't think dry eye is a typical symptom of brain tumor. You might want to try some OTC Moisture drops.

I have had mrsa for a while now been on antibiotics for 2 months now doxycicline.
While i have not had any flare-ups thanks G-D, as of lately developed discomfort and irritation in my eyes. I saw two eye specialists they suggested eye drops but it did little to alleviate the discomfort. I checked with an other specialist who diagnosed it as blepharitis and prescribed doxycycline [antibiotic] which started helping but after sometime i started experiencing abdominal pain and immediately stopped taking doxycycline. I went to a GI for the abdominal pain.
My rheumatologist confirmed that I am one of them, since I developed painful, long-lasting tendinitis while on Cipro--and then a flareup later while using VIgamox and not yet understanding the possible connection.
Now I am scheduled for cataract surgery, and in the presurgical packet I received this weekend, there is an rx for Vigamox, even though I requested that a note about the Cipro/Vigamox problem be placed in my file.
He was put on Augmentin again and also started having redness and infection in his left eye. With Cipro drops the eye seemed to be doing better, but again there was this feeling of something in his left eye. The opthalmologist ruled out eye glasses or any infection in the eyes and put him on Vigamox and his eye seems to being better. During the 2nd round of Augmentin, complaints of headache and tummyache continued, this time his neck also started hurting and also throat.
