celebrex

Avatar f tn I have just started having a dull aching pain in and around my left knee. It has started waking me up at night. I am already on Celebrex 200 twice a day. Could this still be arthritis?
Avatar f tn I have been prescibed Celebrex for osteoarthris pain. Can it be taken every day for long term management of arthritis.
Avatar f tn I have been taking Celebrex (200 mg a day) for about five years for bone on bone knee osteoarthritis. It has worked well for controlling my pain (not perfect but pretty good). I also get some lower back pain (combination of osteoarthritis and nerve stuff) that only happens when I over-do (like trying to garden, etc.). I typically need a day or two of Vicodin for that as the Celebrex does not seem to work for that.
Avatar f tn ) I have just moved to a 1 floor house in FL and the pain is worse sometimes. Celebrex is not working. Knee grinds. Now the other one is doing it and my Lower back is killing me. Has been for a while but with moving thought it was from all the lifting. But husband reminded me it started before we loaded truck. Also It hurts if walking more then 20 minutes, standing in one position and also sitting. It gets so stiff and sore. I can't barely move.
Avatar f tn Regular doc says I need to take celebrex for arthritis pain. I know it is a NSAID so I am scared of it. He thinks it is not a problem with hep c, but he is not a Hep C doc. What is the scoop on it? Any one taking it with Hep C?
Avatar m tn I am currently in a tremendous amount of pain in my fingers, elbows, shoulders, left knee and left hip. Volteran gel has not helped at all and neither has Aleve. Can I take tramadol with these two drugs? I have recently switched my insurance and am waiting to get into a new rheumatologist.
Avatar n tn Had a total knee replacement six months ago because of a torn ACL, torn meniscus and arthritic knee. The pain is now worse than before I had the replacement surgery. My knee is always swollen, stiff and hot to touch since surgery. I have taken Celebrex that helped the pain but had to stop because my kidney function BU/CU ratio is now elevated. I cannot take other NSAID's because they elevate my blood pressure. I have a history of chronic Lyme disease.
Avatar n tn I had a knee replacement 5 weeks ago. I am getting around and doing the rehab very well. However, I still have a fair amount of pain and I am taking a nonnarcotic pain reliever and celebrex. At night, I go to sleep for an hour or two and then I wake up with knee pain and can't get comfortable or back to sleep. What can I do to stop this problem, my orthopedist is at a loss.
Avatar n tn I had a meniscus tear in my knee had a menisctomy on June 7th 2009. i have been through therapy back into strength training so i could get back out on the soccer field. Its coming up on 5 months and i still cannot play. if i run it swells . The surgeon takes me off any activity and back on celebrex to reduce the swelling. Why is it taking so long ? I was told i would be playin soccer again in 8 weeks at the longest. Anyone else have this experience? does it ever get better?
Avatar m tn I have the same problem with degenerative bones in lower back and bulging disks in neck so know how you feel, however, I am on day 5 of no hydros and yesterday my back hurt so bad I almost went to the emergency room. I had nothing to take so took a hot bath then put heating pad on it. Low and behold, today it felt better! Not like 100% better, still stiff and sore, but don't need pain killers better.
Avatar m tn I got a cortisone shot to my left knee, more specifically to my IT band, this was last monday, its been almost a week since, the day after the injection was horrible, i developed severe pain over night, and it was really hard to bend the knee or walk, the pain has subsided little by little, but its still painful, specially when going up or down stairs, or when bending my knee.
418155 tn?1205409893 I feel like I am beating this habit, although some days the pain is just too bad and I cave. Anyway, a friend of mine mentioned that he takes diclofen for various sports injuries and that it helps tremendously. I've never heard of this drug before. Is it an opiate? Obviously I do not want to trade one bad habit for another but if it is non-narcotic and can help with my severe pain I would like more info... Thanks!
Avatar f tn Since about 3 weeks I have severe pain on the back of my knee ( left leg), it hurts mostly when walking. Especially after sitting a while, If Advil don't help to ease the pain. I'm not a sports person have not done anything out of the ordinary. the muscle on my calves are very tight and sometimes cramp. I have done a ultrasound to rule out a blood clot. Fortunately nothing was found. Thank you for any response. I do stretch sometimes, put heat on.
Avatar f tn i am 53 years old. i had surgery for torn meniscus in left knee on 10/13/2007, and i have been in pain since. i am currently receiving my 3rd round of synvisc. i have had 3 or 4 cortisone injections, they seemed to be helping but the times in between have gotten shorter. my dr. keeps telling me i'm too young for knee replacement. he tells me it's arthritis, i can't believe it. i am not overweight (147 lbs.), however, before the surgery i weighed 128 lbs.
Avatar n tn um i woke up a few day ago and also had very bad knee pain and wrist pain on the right side. i could hardly stand.but there was no swelling . I am already on a steroid for another medical issue. right now i am being tested for a muscular disease and do not have the results yet. i also have a pinching, tearing, sorta pain in my left lower abdomen alot and the doctors still dont know what that is etheir.
Avatar f tn UPDATE ~ received X-today, but it's unlikely anything will show up. I feel it's soft tissue damage. At least she confirmed swelling, and the blood pooling in my ankle, though it's not as bad as the 1st week of injury. Next will be an MRI after results are sent to her. She gave me a script for Celebrex because I can't tolerate most NSAID's. Another question?? I have no back pain, could this possibly be sciatic nerve pain.
Avatar m tn I am a runner and have been experiencing pain in my right knee for several years. I ran a lot in high school and then stopped for a while and have been trying to get back into it on and off for years (I am 28 now). for the last four years I have been experiencing sharp pain on the outside of my right knee starting usually after running about 3 miles. no pain when I am not running. It comes on gradually but I eventually need to stop running.
Avatar n tn I have recently started having random joint pain, shoulder, wrist, hand, knee and have found that resting the joint in a splint or brace reallly helps. However, the latest pain is in my jaw - this happened last night. Anybody else had this?
Avatar m tn Dear Doctor. Some days after start using Celebrex I noted a loss of vision in the central area of the vision in one eye. I cant read a letter that I was looking at, but I can see the letters in both sides of the letter I was looking. If I look with that eye to a white wall I can see a yellow circle sorrounding another smaller white circle.
Avatar dr m tn Before diving into another invasive procedure, I visited a pain management doctor. ONE of the many things we did was try Celebrex. Now I was very skeptical as it had done nothing prior to surgery. But once my spondy was fixed I though - let's try it again. I have to happily report that this NSAID really did work. So much so I was able to lay off the Vicodin and/or Norco as a supplement to "stay ahead of the pain".

Avatar n tn I do take Celebrex for the rib pain these last month. I were diagnosed yesterday with Cotsochondritis but do not know if it can be something else. I did started treatment 2 years ago for the stomach - Nexium 4mg (five family members died of colocancer) I also have this strange pain in my hips down my legs - it starts and then after a while it feels better but then it feels tender over the vains and the muscles. Can this be my lower back.
Avatar f tn Tramadol has taken care of the pain. My pain physician says it is safe but I have been depressed and my stomach hurts for the last three days. I went down to 350 mg a month ago. Would I have withdrawals at this dosage for this amount of time? I can't take NSAIDS either, they burn a hole in my stomach, can anyond recommend a non narcotic that has nothing to do with opiate receptors?

Avatar n tn I had my knee partiallly replaced on the inside of knee. Was in a lot of pain in bursa sac area and along incision. My ortho tried 3 injections and the nerve continued to intensely burn, twirl and I felt like something cold was running down the inside of my calf. I felt this 24-7. 1 month ago the Dr. reopened the incision and clipped the nerve. I am now experiencing not as intense burning but like their are more nerves being hot. Will this go away.?
614557 tn?1243708351 t like to do a total knee replacement until you are in your 50s. Reason being that currently a new knee has a lifespan of about 15 years (if you are lucky), They hope that if they can make you wait that you will be less active, and probably won't live long enough to require a second or third go around on the surgery, thus costing them a bunch more money. Also the second synthetic knee that they put in tends to be more problematic than the first one..
