) I have just moved to a 1 floor house in FL and the pain is worse sometimes. Celebrex is not working. Knee grinds. Now the other one is doing it and my Lower back is killing me. Has been for a while but with moving thought it was from all the lifting. But husband reminded me it started before we loaded truck. Also It hurts if walking more then 20 minutes, standing in one position and also sitting. It gets so stiff and sore. I can't barely move.
It is very effective for relieving her severe bi-lateral knee pain and she feels the benefits out weight the risks. She is 49.
Celebrex may cause an increased risk of serious cardiovascular thrombotic events, myocardial infarction, and stroke, which can be fatal. All nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) may have a similar risk. This risk may increase with duration of use.
I had a knee replacement 5 weeks ago. I am getting around and doing the rehab very well. However, I still have a fair amount of pain and I am taking a nonnarcotic pain reliever and celebrex. At night, I go to sleep for an hour or two and then I wake up with knee pain and can't get comfortable or back to sleep. What can I do to stop this problem, my orthopedist is at a loss.
I did take Duloxetine previously for pain (adjunct to the Celebrex) and it did help, but my GP is skeptical that Gabapentin would help even if combined with Duloxetine. Does anyone else have Osteoarthritis and is unable to take NSAIDS and have you found a medication that works? Thanks in advance for your replies.

I got a cortisone shot to my left knee, more specifically to my IT band, this was last monday, its been almost a week since, the day after the injection was horrible, i developed severe pain over night, and it was really hard to bend the knee or walk, the pain has subsided little by little, but its still painful, specially when going up or down stairs, or when bending my knee.
I had my knee partiallly replaced on the inside of knee. Was in a lot of pain in bursa sac area and along incision. My ortho tried 3 injections and the nerve continued to intensely burn, twirl and I felt like something cold was running down the inside of my calf. I felt this 24-7. 1 month ago the Dr. reopened the incision and clipped the nerve. I am now experiencing not as intense burning but like their are more nerves being hot. Will this go away.?
A week ago was running to retrieve something tripped and to prevent my fall stopped short and tore my right hamstring and dropped down with a tearing pain . I got up walking with a limp and developed a bruise behind my knee, had spasims throughout my hamstring, and pain in the upper area of my hamstring just below my butt when walking and sitting was extremely painful. There was no bruising in upper area of hamstring.
I have the exact symptoms..pain behind left knee, stiffness/cramping in calf of left leg..painful to walk, but equally painful to sit. Standing up/stretching causes great pain. i am 53 years old. i had surgery for torn meniscus in left knee on 10/13/2007, and i have been in pain since. i am currently receiving my 3rd round of synvisc. i have had 3 or 4 cortisone injections, they seemed to be helping but the times in between have gotten shorter. my dr. keeps telling me i'm too young for knee replacement. he tells me it's arthritis, i can't believe it. i am not overweight (147 lbs.), however, before the surgery i weighed 128 lbs.
um i woke up a few day ago and also had very bad knee pain and wrist pain on the right side. i could hardly stand.but there was no swelling . I am already on a steroid for another medical issue. right now i am being tested for a muscular disease and do not have the results yet. i also have a pinching, tearing, sorta pain in my left lower abdomen alot and the doctors still dont know what that is etheir.
I am a runner and have been experiencing pain in my right knee for several years. I ran a lot in high school and then stopped for a while and have been trying to get back into it on and off for years (I am 28 now). for the last four years I have been experiencing sharp pain on the outside of my right knee starting usually after running about 3 miles. no pain when I am not running. It comes on gradually but I eventually need to stop running.
Ocular side effects including blurred vision, cataracts, conjunctivitis, and eye pain have been reported in less than 2% of patients. Vitreous floaters and conjunctival hemorrhage have been reported in 0.1% or greater to less than 1% of patients. At least one case of orange spots has also been reported, in addition to a case of jellybean-like area of vision loss centrally.

I was told today by my awesome insurance company that they will not cover Celebrex. I have been on meloxicam for many years. I'm on day 25 norco free and working with my pain management doctor on non narcotic relief. I thought this maybe a good choice but the insurance company disagreed. Any opinions on arthritis relief options. I have liver issues and I'm tested every 6 months. I also have stenosis, 2 bulging discs and one that has been detached.
I don't think it should be an issue, I took Celebrex and Morphine for an extended time with no issue. Ask your doctor about any concerns though.
