celebrex

Avatar m tn Surgery has been suggested to me as well however my doctor has me on celebrex for the arthritus and also tylenol arthritic medication pain killers. I have heard that over a long period of time celebrex may not be good for you however in the interim until you decide it may give you some help.
Avatar m tn I have been on methotrexate and celebrex for at least 15 years, probably long. I am currently in a tremendous amount of pain in my fingers, elbows, shoulders, left knee and left hip. Volteran gel has not helped at all and neither has Aleve. Can I take tramadol with these two drugs? I have recently switched my insurance and am waiting to get into a new rheumatologist.
Avatar n tn The doc said today maybe we should get a second opinion but he feels the only fix is another hip replacment, For now my husband is on Tramadol for the pain, hopefully he can still work. Any one who has a similiar experience?
874521 tn?1424116797 We are also trialing cortisone shots to the hips, I only had one so far it helped alot with the hip pain but only for 4-5weeks and really didn't help at all with the thigh/leg pain...I will go again in Sept. I am also on 20mg oxycontin which really doesn't work that well but I refuse to up the dose unless I absolutely have no choice left......I think its more for my back pain anyway, I don't think opiates do alot for inflamation unless maybe in very high doses.
Avatar n tn i am so depressed and verry worried, i went today to my doctor after giving up from taking oxycodone for my severe hip and all left leg pain, my cairoprator told me it's from the herniated disk that i have in my lower back, i've been on oxycodone for 3 days now, and today i went to my health doctor and he gave me a cortisone shot in my hip, and 6 pills of celebrex and told me to take them with the oxicodone at night for 6 nights.
1256021 tn?1269377814 i started having hip pain and popping back in 2005. since then it has gotten worse. i have had multiple xrays, a nuclear bone scan, i have tried physical therapy (which made it worse) and with no avail i have no diagnosis!! the pain use to be every once in a while (due to exercise or over exertion).now its like i have pain all the time with out any breaks and now the pain has radiated up into the lower back. it hurts to do everything, walk stand, sit, and lay.
Avatar f tn As for telling you it would be normal with celebrex, you probably knew at the time it was impossible for them to know that -- individuals differ a ton in how quickly they heal, in how severe the problem is, how long it took to develop, how carefully we stick to the treatment regimen. Celebrex isn't the safest drug out there, maybe try a different anti-inflammatory such ibuprofen or naproxen.
Avatar n tn i feel lil bit sore where he did the injection for me, the problem is that i'm in pain for 3 weeks now, and the pain is getting worse day after day. when i sit dow or get up forget it, it's like someone is killing me. he told me if i didn't feel better after the celebrex to go back to him. you think i should stop going to the cairopractor for now, and just take the medecine and see what will happen?
Avatar n tn Right hip replacement. I'm on requip, lyrica, cymbalta, celebrex, just starting actonel plus vitamins & calcium. thank you. I'm 76, female. I have osteoporosis of the right hip and osteopenia of the left hip. I have peripheral neuropathy (familial), and two bad knees.

I can't walk backward...can you? I also found it difficult to walk with my eyes closed.
Avatar n tn I have lower back and hips pain, and also my neck shoulders and both arms are also paining. My pain is more of an ache rather than an actual pain. I tood some nurofen tonight, which is ibrufen, and that actually eased the pain a good bit. I don't know what it is, it could be the flu, but if its still there after a week I will go and see about it. How about you, how long have you had it, and do you have any other symptoms? have you taken anything for it? Sunset.
Avatar f tn t think there are many options for you Helen..Pain meds are about it. Are you on celebrex or any similar drugs? Before my surgery, I just flat out told my gp.."your job is to keep my pain in check so I can work until surgery". Sometimes you have to put your foot down with these guys! I had both my hips replaced (resurfaced) on July 22..Been out rassling with the snowblower today, and shoveling up a storm LOL!.
Avatar n tn I do take Celebrex for the rib pain these last month. I were diagnosed yesterday with Cotsochondritis but do not know if it can be something else. I did started treatment 2 years ago for the stomach - Nexium 4mg (five family members died of colocancer) I also have this strange pain in my hips down my legs - it starts and then after a while it feels better but then it feels tender over the vains and the muscles. Can this be my lower back.
Avatar f tn old and take Celebrex for a disc problem in my back. Then, a few months ago, I noticed that my hip was paining, then my wrist, then my shoulder...My hip has become the worst - it keeps me from sleeping most nights since that is the side I sleep on. Celebrex does half the job, but I end up using Tylenol Arthritis in addition many days. My doc tried Ultram, but it made me sick. I haven't been back yet, but want to make another appt. I have tried some natural things.
Avatar m tn I took Celebrex for several years for joint pain due to Crohn's. I keep having bowel obstructions so I went to a new dr. He told me to stop taking the Celebrex and start taking a tylenol everyday. I have not had any more obstructions but I do still have some joint pain.
Avatar f tn I have been prescibed Celebrex for osteoarthris pain. Can it be taken every day for long term management of arthritis.
Avatar m tn I have joint pain in my right hip that can cause me to fall suddenly (electrical shock like pain). There is a place in the center of my back where I feel numb, oblivious to a needle *****. My right shoulder often aches and I get sever carpel tunnel like symptoms in my right forearm and wrist. Doctors (5) have stated that nothing is wrong. My X-rays show no arthritis, although L2 is displaced at a 17 degree angle, visible on a CT.
Avatar f tn So I've had hip pain for about 7 months. I went to her after months of voltaren, metsal, Celebrex etc and she says it's bursitis and that I'll need steroid injections. If it is muscle how come it only got worse the next day when I stretched? And the voltaren didn't help. Also when I'm working or doing physical activity it kinda becomes numb but the pain comes later on. In the cold it's a focused sharp pain rather than all over. Is this signs of bursitis?
Avatar f tn I wake up in the middle of the night in extreme pain because of my hip and the pain goes from my hip all the way down to my feet. I am worried about the amount of meds you are taking. You could give your liver problems. I have switched to Tylenol Arthritis (it is new here is AZ) and that has made a huge difference. Please let know how you are. Thanks.
1378884 tn?1315505845 AWESOME answer!. It's what I thought he was doing, ruling out RA. I don't seem to have the typical RA symptoms (which is reassuring) either. I have had to adjust my movement because of the R hip and now am having issues with my Left Knee. Crazy!. Anyway your help will provide me with conversation material with my Doc in a couple weeks. The Prednisone is really not helping the hip or back pain pain as of yet but it's early.
Avatar f tn I have increased bone pain and nausea. I then have diarreah and vomiting for 2 days, but the cramping is what cripples me. I then have to wean myself back onto solids. But the most frustrating part of the whole ordeal - is when I have gone through this I feel replenished. It is as though my body is trying to rid something - a build up of acids maybe?
Avatar n tn Fosamax is safe for liver patients. Celebrex in the short term (for a couple of weeks) should not be harmful. However, it is not something he wants me on for any length of time.
370181 tn?1595629445 My mom who is also suffering from chronic pain due to a back injury she sustained from a bad fall eight years ago, was also prescribed Celebrex by a surgeon who is an expert in pain management. Well, my mom was on the Celebrex for only two days. She felt very ill on the Celebrex and went off the Celebrex by herself as it was making her symptoms worse. Yes, I've also heard that Celebrex has cardiac risks, didn't know about the g i bleeding.
Avatar m tn I've had cortisone injections many times before. Today I went in for a cortisone shot for DeQuervains Tensynovitis (sp?) The pain was severe not responding to pain meds. A few minutes after the injection that hand and arm started getting red blotches and itching...like hives. I thought of going back but I didn't want to be shunted to the ER for Benedryl so I just waited to see what happens. The hives dissipated within a half hour.
