Celebrex jaw pain

Common Questions and Answers about Celebrex jaw pain

celebrex

Avatar f tn The dentist sent me back to the surgeon and they gave me a prescription for Celebrex. The Celebrex worked, I could open my mouth all the way and pain free, but only if I kept on taking it. I can't afford that, being a student, so I settled for taking an Aleve whenever the pain gets worse. Now there seems to be a nodule in the hollow of my jaw, just below the TMJ (again, left side only)/ I have pointed this bump out to clinic doctors, and no one gives it any credibility.
Avatar n tn I have recently started having random joint pain, shoulder, wrist, hand, knee and have found that resting the joint in a splint or brace reallly helps. However, the latest pain is in my jaw - this happened last night. Anybody else had this?
Avatar f tn I am getting a bridge made for my bottom left side and had my mouth open for a total of 5 hours in 1 day. The pain in my jaw was severe, and my ear feels like there is something in it. There is also a noise when I chew, or open my mouth. I can't open my mouth very big yet, but it is improving. There is no clicking sound when I open and close my mouth . It is more of a whooshing sound. I have a temporary bridge in and although it is not great the bite is OK. My Dr.

The jaw area in the back in also a little tender still. Not sure what I should do next. I have seen my OS three times already and OS said that the area is healing nicely, doesn't look like any infections there. Can you help please...
Avatar m tn well I have TMJ my jaw joint is wearing out and I have arthritis in it. the pain sometimes is very bad. the doctor put me on Celebrex. check with your doctor, your dentist could give you a splint to wear especially at night when you might grit your teeth or clinch them. mine goes down my neck and shoulder. good luck.
Avatar n tn I do take Celebrex for the rib pain these last month. I were diagnosed yesterday with Cotsochondritis but do not know if it can be something else. I did started treatment 2 years ago for the stomach - Nexium 4mg (five family members died of colocancer) I also have this strange pain in my hips down my legs - it starts and then after a while it feels better but then it feels tender over the vains and the muscles. Avatar m tn Has anyone used Celebrex for their Crohn's? I have severe joint point pain and I have been told that Celebrex is a huge help for this. I am wondering about side effects and medicine interactions.
Avatar f tn I have been prescibed Celebrex for osteoarthris pain. Can it be taken every day for long term management of arthritis.
Avatar n tn Over the course of a few weeks the pain started to subside and my jaw began to relax... Heat packs on my jaw to soothe the pain... He also suggested certain exercises to strengthen my neck and back muscles because they were weak from all the tension... I also did acupuncture... It also helped to calm and relax my muscles... Good luck!
Avatar f tn Hi. How are you? TMJ headaches usually present with muscle-contraction type of pain, sometimes accompanied by a painful "clicking" sound on opening the jaw. With the normal results on your MRI, you may indeed benefit from further evaluation by a neurologist to rule out other neurological issues. A headache journal may also help identify possible triggers, such as environmental or work-related, that you could avoid.
Avatar f tn ve been taking more of these meds is because your current med of the Celebrex is not helping with your pain. There are many meds out there that can be tried, so also please don't let them tell you that there are no options. The main thing to keep in mind (and you may have to stress this to your doctor) is that pain knows no age restrictions and fibromyalgia pain is no different. It IS very possible to have fibro even at your young age.
Avatar f tn Stenosis and scoliosis in lumber spine and osteoarthritis in both hands. Apart from the intermittent leg/bone pain I still suffer from in the long bones (which leaves the muscles tired and painful and as if they are contracting), I had excrutiating finger pains for the first part of this year. I have been on celebrex and had cortizone injections, but still continue to suffer, especially with the bone pain.
Avatar f tn I recovered, but continued to have persistent bouts of chest pain, arm pain, back pain, jaw pain, shoulder pain. The chest pain worsens on inspiration, leaning over, moving, lying flat, laughing, swallowing....I feel tired. I have tried Prednisone, Indocin, Colchicine, Ibuprofen, and Alieve. For pain I have tried hydrocodone, Fentanyl, and now am taking Lyrica. One year ago I had a complete pericardiectomy at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota (we live in Texas).
Avatar n tn She is 64 but she also has osteoporosis and arthritis in her lower back. The back doctor just prescribed Celebrex, is this the safest drug for her? Also what should people with Hep C do to better care for their liver eventhough so far she seems to have a healthy liver. For the osteoporosis she is on Fosamax. She has been on it for several years. I am just afraid that too many potent drugs can be harmful for her liver.
370181 tn?1595629445 My mom who is also suffering from chronic pain due to a back injury she sustained from a bad fall eight years ago, was also prescribed Celebrex by a surgeon who is an expert in pain management. Well, my mom was on the Celebrex for only two days. She felt very ill on the Celebrex and went off the Celebrex by herself as it was making her symptoms worse. Yes, I've also heard that Celebrex has cardiac risks, didn't know about the g i bleeding.
Avatar f tn Trying a new drug for pain... Celebrex. I was on Diamox but could not tolerate it as it caused severe kidney PAIN. So, my PCP wants me to try Celebrex (3 days on, 3 days off). Anyone have any experience/knowledge of this med and, if so, how did you fare with it?
Avatar f tn Does anyone take celebrex?I started Prozak last week and they want me to take celebrex too. They say my liver can take it, (stage 2 fibrosis). But I am afraid of the NSAIDs in celebrex, any one else taking it? Oh, I am on Methadone too. I am having my first liver biopsy in the morning, so I will find out more about my liver. I am scared to death about it coz I have had so many problems lately.
Avatar f tn Regular doc says I need to take celebrex for arthritis pain. I know it is a NSAID so I am scared of it. He thinks it is not a problem with hep c, but he is not a Hep C doc. What is the scoop on it? Any one taking it with Hep C?
1459410 tn?1285695005 I have gone through the cortisone shots and the Celebrex. I was limping along pretty well just using Advil when the pain ramped up exponentially last winter. My hands were in extreme pain 24hrs a day. I couldn't sleep from the pain. So I found some Tramadol that had been prescribed to my 18yr old daughter for her shoulder pain and long story short - do not resort to Tramadol.
Avatar f tn I did take Duloxetine previously for pain (adjunct to the Celebrex) and it did help, but my GP is skeptical that Gabapentin would help even if combined with Duloxetine. Does anyone else have Osteoarthritis and is unable to take NSAIDS and have you found a medication that works? Thanks in advance for your replies.
5986700 tn?1380791380 hi angels....hub (non practicing oxy addict) just got a script for Celebrex ...he hasn't taken any yet ....he's nervous....any concerns or thoughts would be much appreeshies...love you all...I'm still here...hangin by my web......
Avatar f tn a pain maybe felt in the upper jaw when the causative is a lower jaw tooth due to referred pain which occurs when decay is within a tooth. When pain is due to decay around tooth, it is easy to localize it. It can occur as a neuralgia or trigeminal neuralgia, which occurs on its own or as part of multiple sclerosis. A neurologist consultation along with a review bythe dentist is required for better diagnosis and relevant management. Take care.
Avatar dr m tn Before diving into another invasive procedure, I visited a pain management doctor. ONE of the many things we did was try Celebrex. Now I was very skeptical as it had done nothing prior to surgery. But once my spondy was fixed I though - let's try it again. I have to happily report that this NSAID really did work. So much so I was able to lay off the Vicodin and/or Norco as a supplement to "stay ahead of the pain".
Avatar m tn I started taking Celebrex two months ago and have gained 18 lbs since. I am wondering if anyone has gained weight on Celebrex? I have a sprained lumbar, lumbago syndrome with back spasms. I can't take narcotic pain meds. Any alternative to Celebrex? Naproxen does nothing for my pain.
Avatar m tn I had lumbar spine fusion six weeks ago and am in PT. Still some pain so am taking 3 Ultracet tabs per 24 hours with pretty good pain relief except following 30 minutes on the treadmill and various muscle building exercises and stretches. To calm down those muscles following exercises and stretches I would like to take one 200mg Celebrex daily but one drug interaction cite suggests "Moderate" drug-drug issue involving CYP450 2D6, which means nothing to me.
Avatar m tn I have the same problem with degenerative bones in lower back and bulging disks in neck so know how you feel, however, I am on day 5 of no hydros and yesterday my back hurt so bad I almost went to the emergency room. I had nothing to take so took a hot bath then put heating pad on it. Low and behold, today it felt better! Not like 100% better, still stiff and sore, but don't need pain killers better.
