cefdinir and ear infections

was just diagnosed last wednesday with the flu, and then yesterday 5 days later was diagnosed with a sinus and ear infection. for the last couple of days i have had really bad vertigo wether I am standing or sitting, feels kinda like I am drunk all day long, and really spiking my anxiety. I was put on cefdinir but have not even been on it a full 24 hours yet. I was wondering two things.

- Was getting chronic ear infections so tubes were put in December 2020. Still had a cough, Cefdinir antibiotic was prescribed and cough went away. - 4 weeks later cough is back. Mainly has coughing fits while lying down and ranges from 10 minutes – 1 hr. Affects sleep. It seems like this cough has a cycle, will only go away for a short period time with an antibiotic (which I don’t want to keep giving her if I don’t have to), but will come back just weeks later.

Cefdinir is an oral cephalosporin antibiotic and mainly used for soft tissue infections caused by bacteria. There are some side effect of this antibiotic such as vaginal infection, diarrhea, nausea, headache and abdominal pain. i took him to the dr tuesday and he had a double ear infrceion. she put him on CEFDINIR and said there was a 5% chance hed have reation and wednesday (after 3 doses) he broke out in an awful rash. just like he did when he was 11 months old from the penicillin,. he is 2 and a half now. I took him to the dr and we stopped the medicine and i began the 4-6 hrs of benadryl i just want to know how long will he continue to break out? he goes between 6-8 hours and then will break out.

After the 3rd visit I asked for a referral to an ENTas she gives no warning her ear is bothering her and we have now had two ruptured ear drums (same ear) with the other one on the verge of going. Today we had the consult with the ENT. He said her ear drums are retracting so she has no pressure in the tubes. In addition since she can't really breathe through her nose due to blockage his final recommendation is - tubes, both ears and removal of the adnoids.

I finally went to a nurse practcioner who said he needed his tonsils out(they were huge) and adenoids out and he put him on a prescription nose spray and he explained that it brought down the swelling in his nasal passages and helped things to drain. I don't know but it worked! We were able to keep him well for 3 months until he could get his adenoids and tonsils removed.

My dog is a boxer and she constantly has ear infections. She shakes her head all the time. Short of cleaning her ears three times a day, what can I do about it? Can you put tubes in dogs ears like children? She also gets yeast in between her toes and is always licking them. And the smell is aweful! I was told it could be allergies, but the test for dogs is expensive. We have tried changing her diet and she still gets ear infections.

t look like little bugs. They actually look like a ton of brown/black ear wax. Go to 1800 pet meds and look under ear medications. Look for tresaderm. This will treat the mites. If it does have a foul smell to it, there is medication available on that site as well. However, you can treat it yourself with peroxide and alchohal. (if you have the stomach for it, that is). In the morning, poor peroxide into the ear. Hold the ear shut so it bubbles up inside.

The list ER i went to the doctor told me I had a lot of wax in my ears I went home and used a ear wax removal kit but no wax was out and still the same problem! What sholud I do. Also for the past 3 months I have been getting a rash around my neck. Do you know wht this might be?

I took a 10 panel std test prior to the test I was taking Cefdinir although I stopped taking it 5 days before testing would the cefdinir affect the results which were negative.

Oh man. No. Just be careful and don't swap spit or get too close. I had strep throat twice and an ear infection while pregnant with my daughter. I'm a strep magnet. If it's tonsilitis that he has just keep a good space and lysol when he leaves.

The doctors say that my ear infections are just bad luck and not due to what I had stuck in my ear even though prior to that I never had an ear infection. Could I have some underlying infection that hasn't fully cleared? Seeing as they've been giving me the same ear drops for almost 2 years?

I have 4 childeren and I can only hear from on ear and everything is magnified...... When is this stuff going to be gone from my ear and will I have to do this treatment again? m doing. the supplements enhance the effectiveness of the antibiotics and the 2nd antibiotic (cefdinir) is to go after the lyme. we know there is nothing here to treat the cyst form of lyme but the Dr. didn't want to put me on any more medicines at this time.

And she sent me home I felt ok but not great and then in middle of night. My ear pain got worse and ringing in ear and some fullness. So I went to see about getting some pain meds. In a tray that I keep my meds in. I came across some ear drop that were not all used from other ear infection I had about six months earlier. I put the drops in and now I feel way worse. My ears feel more clogged and pain is not as bad . But I feel light headed . The ear drops have a steroid in it .

I suggest getting a second person to help you. One to hold him and comfort him, and one to get in that ear and clean it! I would probably start with a warm wet towel (dont use paper towels, they are scratchy) Get out as MUCH as you can with the towel. After everything is done, get out you pets favorite treat. I usually don't suggest bacon as a treat unless you REALLY need your dog to forget about what you just did. Bacon is a GREAT treat for this type is situation.

With tubes in your ears, its really important that you keep your ears dry and not allow water into them. Are you using ear plugs when bathing? Water entering the middle ear through the tubes can cause infections. Does your physician know that you are continuing to have ear infections with the tubes in place?

Now have a possible sinus infection and doctor gave me Cefdinir. Two days into the medication, my neuropathy symptoms have increased. The burning, needle like sensations and numbness. I do not want to go through that nightmare again. So I stopped taking the antibiotic and am waiting to hear from my doctor for an alternative drug. Is this considered an allergic reaction or a severe symptom. Anyway to know which antibiotics I can use and not have this reaction.

I have been having constant ear infections for ages now.. i keep going to the doctors and they just keep perscribing me antibiotics.. so much so that i have a tollerence to amoxicillin.. when i take the antibiotocs they seem to work for a while then no longer after ive stopped taking them the infection comes back.. im at the end of my teather with this and finding it hard to understand why they keep reacurring.. i dont go swimming.. i dont even put my head under the water when i bathe..

It makes me feel quite wooly almost, now I am concerned that the infection that was (and possibly still is) in my tooth has something to do with the pain im getting in my jaw because the jaw pain was starting to ease after i had the antibiotics but since iv had the extraction iv got the severe heat and earache and under ear pain like before.

But it could also be due to bacterial infections of the gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract infections or lung infections. So, please consult your primary care physician at the earliest for proper assessment. He may ask for blood and urine tests to determine the cause. Third, what are my odds of catching Syphillis give it is more prevelant in SE Asia and Thailand. My final question is that I visited a doctor in HK and he prescribed Cefdinir 300mgs, 2x a day for 2 weeks to treat possible STDs like gonorrhea, chlamydia or nongonococcal urethritis (NGU) and he also indicated this could treat Syphilis. After spending some time online, I am confused and not certain that will treat the above issues.
