Avatar f tn was just diagnosed last wednesday with the flu, and then yesterday 5 days later was diagnosed with a sinus and ear infection. for the last couple of days i have had really bad vertigo wether I am standing or sitting, feels kinda like I am drunk all day long, and really spiking my anxiety. I was put on cefdinir but have not even been on it a full 24 hours yet. I was wondering two things.
Avatar f tn Gary has gone through a sinus infection, bronchitis, coxsakie, stomach bug, and now an ear infection in the past couple months. He was prescribed drops because he has been on antibiotics twice in 2 months. I don't think it is getting better after 6 days of drops. Dh & I are going to Virginia for a wedding this weekend so I am going to take him to be checked aging today or tomorrow. The problem with GW is he doesn't recognize or acknowledge pain. Some say it is a result of the ASD.
Avatar f tn ll have a better idea of what to do to treat a bacterial infection in his ears the next time it occurs. (Before this last ear infection, I only knew how to treat ear congestion from a virus: The homeopathic treatments clear up the congestion and ear pain within 2 days.) Are there any studies that might attribute inner ear congestion with eye-rolling tics?
Avatar f tn He had just finished a round of antibiotics for a double ear infection and the dr told me that his right tube was getting ready to come out. Could this shrugging be due to ear infection not being cleared up, or his tube falling out? Or should I be worried about other possibilities?
Avatar m tn When I took him to the dr he had a double ear infection plus a sore throat. He was put on antibiotics but it still took about a week for him to get back to being into everything. He also cut 5 teeth. Freaked me out to say the least lol. The dr said that she thought the ear infection caused the sore throat because of the drainage and that the ear infection was more than likely due to the teeth. I hope yours is better soon I hate when little ones are sick.
Avatar f tn Now have a possible sinus infection and doctor gave me Cefdinir. Two days into the medication, my neuropathy symptoms have increased. The burning, needle like sensations and numbness. I do not want to go through that nightmare again. So I stopped taking the antibiotic and am waiting to hear from my doctor for an alternative drug. Is this considered an allergic reaction or a severe symptom. Anyway to know which antibiotics I can use and not have this reaction.
280234 tn?1532986249 Hi, my 10 year old daughter has been having some clear slightly yellow tinged drainage from her right ear on and off the last few months. It's usually only a tiny amount (drop or two) & sort of watery I guess you could say. It started about 5 months ago and is just on and off. She usually notices it after she wakes up in the morning and has it a couple times a month typically. She has no pain or fever with it. She does say her ears feel slightly full at times.
Avatar m tn Endodonist said there was pus -- infection. I have had allergic reaction to Levaquin and AzitheraI and have had side effects diarrhea and lightheaded from Cefdinir and Cephalexin so he prescribed Cipro 500mg. Said he doesn't usually prescribe but given that it have taken Cipro 250mg in the past (or urinary tract infection with no side effects. Is Cipro as effective as other antibiotics for dental infection?
Avatar f tn Its tough when they are that little. Pedialyte will be of no help unless they have vomiting and diarrhea. As for meds, unless they have an ear infection or something bacterial meds won't be of any help. There are a lot of viruses going around now, including influenza... you should take them to be checked out by the pediatrician just to be safe.
Avatar f tn I took a 10 panel std test prior to the test I was taking Cefdinir although I stopped taking it 5 days before testing would the cefdinir affect the results which were negative.
Avatar f tn I was prescribed amoxicillin and was feeling much better on day 3 until I developed a horrible yeast infection. I was then prescribed the one dose of fluconazole and the yeast infection was cleared. My original symptoms were gone so I didn't bother taking the rest of the antibiotic. (I know, my fault). Now three days I went back to the doctor and explained my symptoms and that I didn't finish the amoxicillin. I was not tested again for strep but was given cefdinir.
Avatar f tn ear infection, oral thrush, a vaginal yeast infection, and then a viral rash. The virus then prompted a thrombocytopenia reaction (her platelets dropped). Thankfully they came back up on their own after a few days. Today's CBC and platelets came back normal. Does this sound like a typical stuff for a toddler (she's in an in-home daycare with only 2 other children, two days a week)? Or does this sound like something that might need looked into?
Avatar f tn My toddler seen videos people posted and grinned ear to ear. My unborn son is always active so I am excited to see how he reacts tonight lol I am equally excited about both hah.
Avatar f tn t start peeing in Lil 24 I would take him in. Just to be safe.
1265027 tn?1284839951 He had fevers of 102-104 and had a double ear infection on top of all that. After an allergic reaction to the first antiboitic he was switched to another which cleared the ear infection. My questionis this...I noticed a swollen lymphnode on the backof his neckbut more near the side in the area below his ear. (i too have a swollenlymph node there due to dry scalp issues). I brought him to teh dr about 3 weeks ago and she checked him out and he had no infections anywhere inhisbody.
Avatar f tn Poor thing probably doesnt feel good... if she woke up screaming and whimpering... she may have an ear infection... it is very common with toddlers and they often dont know how to tell you or even know that it is their ear bothering them... look for the signs of it.. tugging their ear, not wanting to eat a lot, diarrhea or vomiting, trouble sleeping, foul odor of the ear or yellow discharge, or their balance is off....
Avatar f tn After the 3rd visit I asked for a referral to an ENTas she gives no warning her ear is bothering her and we have now had two ruptured ear drums (same ear) with the other one on the verge of going. Today we had the consult with the ENT. He said her ear drums are retracting so she has no pressure in the tubes. In addition since she can't really breathe through her nose due to blockage his final recommendation is - tubes, both ears and removal of the adnoids.
Avatar n tn Another time I was alarmed when my toddler son kept telling me he had a bee stuck in his ear. I soon figured out he had an ear infection--he explained the pain by thinking he'd been stung by a bee! My most embarrassing ENT moment was when I got the barbed end of a two-inch-long salmon bone stuck firmly on one tonsil. It was poking all the way across my throat into the other tonsil. I could see it, but could not reach it, so had to have a doc get it out.
Avatar f tn I went back again on the 6th and was told my throat was read, some drainage from my nose, and my eardrum was real swollow in my right ear and really red in the left ear. I hear the risk is low with oral sex but I don't have the best oral health I have a calcium buildup and bleeding gums with I brush. The ER doctor checked me for Mono and it was negative. I am really afraid and I was giving a antibiotic called Cefdinir to take for 7 days two times a day. I am really worried.
Avatar n tn s hospital where they treated him for pneumonia for 2 days then sent home to take Cefdinir for 12 days. Once the 12 days were over he once again started with the high fever and his cough never left. His doctor did x-rays once again and put him back on Cefdinir for 10 days. He ended up going back to Children's E.R. where they said he had decreased air movement in his lower left lobe and put him on Amox-Clav ES for 14 days. He is still running fever with a wet cough.
Avatar f tn My general doctor made no head way and the ENT has now been stumped. I have had blood work to check for infection, pituitary issues, arthritis, and thyroid issues. A round of antibiotics has brought no help. Had a normal CT done this week. It is not a clogged salivary gland and all the teeth are in good shape with no roots seeming to have gotten to close when the fillings were done. The pain does radiate from under and inside the jaw line and effects my ear and tongue on the left side.
