Avatar f tn was just diagnosed last wednesday with the flu, and then yesterday 5 days later was diagnosed with a sinus and ear infection. for the last couple of days i have had really bad vertigo wether I am standing or sitting, feels kinda like I am drunk all day long, and really spiking my anxiety. I was put on cefdinir but have not even been on it a full 24 hours yet. I was wondering two things.
Avatar m tn Usually a course of clindamycin or Amoxillicin is prescribed for an oral infection but Cipro should work fine.
Avatar f tn Gary has gone through a sinus infection, bronchitis, coxsakie, stomach bug, and now an ear infection in the past couple months. He was prescribed drops because he has been on antibiotics twice in 2 months. I don't think it is getting better after 6 days of drops. Dh & I are going to Virginia for a wedding this weekend so I am going to take him to be checked aging today or tomorrow. The problem with GW is he doesn't recognize or acknowledge pain. Some say it is a result of the ASD.
Avatar f tn Unfortunately, the last time I had to use the albuterol treatments, my son was suspect of having an allergic reaction to the antibiotic that he was on (Cefdinir) for a bacterial infection in his middle ears (he had a rash on the inside of his legs and developed a chronic cough, which lead to severe asthma).
Avatar f tn He had just finished a round of antibiotics for a double ear infection and the dr told me that his right tube was getting ready to come out. Could this shrugging be due to ear infection not being cleared up, or his tube falling out? Or should I be worried about other possibilities?
Avatar m tn When I took him to the dr he had a double ear infection plus a sore throat. He was put on antibiotics but it still took about a week for him to get back to being into everything. He also cut 5 teeth. Freaked me out to say the least lol. The dr said that she thought the ear infection caused the sore throat because of the drainage and that the ear infection was more than likely due to the teeth. I hope yours is better soon I hate when little ones are sick.
Avatar f tn Now have a possible sinus infection and doctor gave me Cefdinir. Two days into the medication, my neuropathy symptoms have increased. The burning, needle like sensations and numbness. I do not want to go through that nightmare again. So I stopped taking the antibiotic and am waiting to hear from my doctor for an alternative drug. Is this considered an allergic reaction or a severe symptom. Anyway to know which antibiotics I can use and not have this reaction.
280234 tn?1532986249 Hi, my 10 year old daughter has been having some clear slightly yellow tinged drainage from her right ear on and off the last few months. It's usually only a tiny amount (drop or two) & sort of watery I guess you could say. It started about 5 months ago and is just on and off. She usually notices it after she wakes up in the morning and has it a couple times a month typically. She has no pain or fever with it. She does say her ears feel slightly full at times.
Avatar f tn Its tough when they are that little. Pedialyte will be of no help unless they have vomiting and diarrhea. As for meds, unless they have an ear infection or something bacterial meds won't be of any help. There are a lot of viruses going around now, including influenza... you should take them to be checked out by the pediatrician just to be safe.
Avatar f tn as i said it is an antibiotic so would kill bacteria to some degree but if you tested negative at 6 weeks you dont have it
Avatar m tn For syphilis, you would expect a sore to occur at a site of infection within 3 weeks of exposure and then for a blood test to be positive by about 4 weeks after the exposure. If there is no sore that develops, the chance that the blood test would be positive is about zero. Further, the antibiotic you took would prevent syphilis. I would not worry about syphilis. 3. what are my odds of catching Syphillis give it is more prevelant in SE Asia and Thailand.
Avatar n tn It was hard to tell at that time because he had an ear infection. I think I will continue to monitor the situation and work on his social interaction skills. Thanks for the advice.
Avatar f tn I've had a sore throat for about 3 weeks now. I originally went to the doctor with overall feeling of malaise, headache, fever, slight sore throat and abdominal pain. I was tested for strep and mono. Strep came back positive (Strep C) and negative for mono. I was prescribed amoxicillin and was feeling much better on day 3 until I developed a horrible yeast infection. I was then prescribed the one dose of fluconazole and the yeast infection was cleared.
Avatar f tn ear infection, oral thrush, a vaginal yeast infection, and then a viral rash. The virus then prompted a thrombocytopenia reaction (her platelets dropped). Thankfully they came back up on their own after a few days. Today's CBC and platelets came back normal. Does this sound like a typical stuff for a toddler (she's in an in-home daycare with only 2 other children, two days a week)? Or does this sound like something that might need looked into?
Avatar n tn I've been fighting a battle of diarrhea for the past four days with no end in sight. Yesterday I went to the hospital because I began to experience sever dehydration. I was also worried because three weeks prior to experiencing this diarrhea I had laparoscopic surgery to repair a very large hiadial hernia. Last night at the ER they could see no reason for my symptom. The only symptom being sever diarrhea.
Avatar n tn -monistat itching cream helps -i showere and reapply about 3 times a day -neosporin on the sores. -bend forward while peeing -or i pee in a warm bath which is the best.
Avatar m tn We have talked with the pediatrician multiple times and have seen other specialists - Infectious disease doctors, rheumatologist, pulmonologist and ENT (He has tubes for ear infections). He has had a CBC and everything on that looked completely normal by all of the specialists. Going back as far as 1/10/2023 his fevers have been anywhere between 99.6-102.
Avatar f tn t start peeing in Lil 24 I would take him in. Just to be safe.
1265027 tn?1284839951 He had fevers of 102-104 and had a double ear infection on top of all that. After an allergic reaction to the first antiboitic he was switched to another which cleared the ear infection. My questionis this...I noticed a swollen lymphnode on the backof his neckbut more near the side in the area below his ear. (i too have a swollenlymph node there due to dry scalp issues). I brought him to teh dr about 3 weeks ago and she checked him out and he had no infections anywhere inhisbody.
Avatar f tn My toddler seen videos people posted and grinned ear to ear. My unborn son is always active so I am excited to see how he reacts tonight lol I am equally excited about both hah.
Avatar f tn it is very common with toddlers and they often dont know how to tell you or even know that it is their ear bothering them... look for the signs of it.. tugging their ear, not wanting to eat a lot, diarrhea or vomiting, trouble sleeping, foul odor of the ear or yellow discharge, or their balance is off....
Avatar f tn She had the typical amoxi, followed by augmentin, then finally ending about a week ago Cefdinir. After the 3rd visit I asked for a referral to an ENTas she gives no warning her ear is bothering her and we have now had two ruptured ear drums (same ear) with the other one on the verge of going. Today we had the consult with the ENT. He said her ear drums are retracting so she has no pressure in the tubes.
Avatar n tn Another time I was alarmed when my toddler son kept telling me he had a bee stuck in his ear. I soon figured out he had an ear infection--he explained the pain by thinking he'd been stung by a bee! My most embarrassing ENT moment was when I got the barbed end of a two-inch-long salmon bone stuck firmly on one tonsil. It was poking all the way across my throat into the other tonsil. I could see it, but could not reach it, so had to have a doc get it out.
