Avatar f tn was just diagnosed last wednesday with the flu, and then yesterday 5 days later was diagnosed with a sinus and ear infection. for the last couple of days i have had really bad vertigo wether I am standing or sitting, feels kinda like I am drunk all day long, and really spiking my anxiety. I was put on cefdinir but have not even been on it a full 24 hours yet. I was wondering two things.
Avatar f tn So I stopped taking the antibiotic and am waiting to hear from my doctor for an alternative drug. Is this considered an allergic reaction or a severe symptom. Anyway to know which antibiotics I can use and not have this reaction. Was not able to pose this question in the neurology platform.
Avatar f tn I had a cough and congestion for about 3 weeks before the doctor was able to diagnose me with a sinus infection. He gave me 875mg of Amoxicillin-twice a day for 10 days along with ZyrtecD and Mucinex. I finished the antibiotic and one of the others at the same time. Two days later, I was still coughing--post nasal drip. I had finished all the meds so I bought some more Mucinex and started that again. In another 2 days I was still had post nasal drep so I started Claritin.
876847 tn?1240239287 Hello, Routinely vibramycin(tetracycline) is not prescribed for sinus infections as the antibiotics of choice for sinusitis are usually penicillins, macrolides, fluorquinolones or cepahalosporins. However if you want to take tetracycline antibiotics, then pls inform your PCP about it before taking it. I hope that helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.Kind regards.
Avatar n tn i'm 23y/o i live in alaska and i've been using a cpap machine for about a year now. in the past 2 months i've had 2 sinus infections. i have never had a sinus infection prior to this. Can this be due to my cpap machine?
Avatar m tn Hi, I battle lot's of infections, mainly sinus/upper respiratory, almost monthly, my wbc is not high but always elevated. Was sent to hematology, but clinic only deals with blood cancers, which I do not have. Antibiotics work, Amoxicillin, Bactrim, etc.... but infections always returns. What physician or specialty clinic, deals with chronic infections ? So, I can discuss with my primary doctor for referral, thanks.
Avatar n tn He was congested and having pain in the front of his head. My doctor thought it was a sinus infection and put him on cefdinir he was having terrible stomach pains so the doctor switched him to azithromycin for the remainder of his perscription. He now complaines of headaches, stomachaches, back pain thoughout the day on and off. Went back to doctor he thinks it's not sinus because of the two antibiotics. He asked me to give him Zyrtec (allergy med.) for two weeks to see if he has allergies.
Avatar f tn Who gave me antibiotics. It went away for a few days but then came back. My symptoms were running nose, nasal drainage down my throat filling my lungs with gunk, and subsequent cough. After 3 more trips to my family Dr. and three more, and different antibiotics, I demanded something was wrong and I'm not taking any more antibiotics. I went to see an ENT and he said it was my deviated septum causing the problems. So I scheduled an appointment for the surgery.
Avatar m tn The Azithromycin did not clear the sinus infection so i was put on Cefdinir at 300 mg twice a day for one week. My hope was that if i had anything one of these two antibiotics would clear it up. Yesterday i went to doctor due to still having the burning after urination. I was given a pee test and then prescibed 10 days of Cipro 500 mg twice a day. I do not think they tested me for any stds but i was diagnosed with a UTI.
Avatar f tn as i said it is an antibiotic so would kill bacteria to some degree but if you tested negative at 6 weeks you dont have it
Avatar n tn Hi Annie! I too had a bottom left molar extracted about 6 weeks ago. The tooth was originally a root canal gone bad. I started having this awful smell radiating from my mouth & nose about 2 months b4 I had the extraction done (this is what lead me to the defaulted root canal in the 1st place). After having the tooth pulled, the smell & the slight pain I had had went away. Then 3 days later, the smell came right back, as if it had never left.

Avatar n tn - Was getting chronic ear infections so tubes were put in December 2020. Still had a cough, Cefdinir antibiotic was prescribed and cough went away. - 4 weeks later cough is back. Mainly has coughing fits while lying down and ranges from 10 minutes – 1 hr. Affects sleep. It seems like this cough has a cycle, will only go away for a short period time with an antibiotic (which I don’t want to keep giving her if I don’t have to), but will come back just weeks later.
485536 tn?1209178017 For the past five or six years of my life, I have been getting sinus infections. I get them, am treated sometimes for a week, and sometimes, all the way up to three weeks. I usually feel better for about two weeks, when my symptoms present again, and I am told I have another infections. I typically get seven or eight a year. I have mild allergies to dust and grass, which I receive allergy shots for.
Avatar f tn My husband has been sick with sinus infections, fevers and over all body aches for 5 months. He has been on anibiotics 4 times (first three was Avalox and now Amoxicillan). It doesn't seem to want to clear up. He has had a chronic cough that keeps him up at night and has had x-rays of the chest which were clear. It just occured to us that a tooth that has been bothering him for about a year and a half may be related.

209987 tn?1451935465 lol I have been suffering with sinus infections for most of my life...so I go through a lot of sinus rinses. lol I know I'm allergic to snow mould...but haven't found anything yet to relieve the symptoms. Anyone know a good natural antihistamine? This lung infection has been clinging to me since the start of December...the oregano oil seems to get rid of it for only a few days at a time...actually, I guess I should say that as soon as the infection goes away, I stop taking it...

Avatar f tn Is it possible to have a fungal sinus infection even if everything looks okay when "scoped" by an ENT? I've been coughing up black gunk for years, and I've had those yellowish, waxy, stinky lumps on and off for years. Lately (last 6-8 months) I have been sick with a sinus/throat infection that won't go away, low grade fever, chills, trembling, shortness of breath, exhaustion and rashy throat, even lost 18 pounds in < 8 weeks from poor appetite and difficulty swallowing.
Avatar f tn Went to my intern and was told it was probably repeated viral infections and he took blood. Blood tests came back normal (neg for mono). Went to a care now on Memorial day and was diagnosed with bronchitis. Was given Cefdinir which did nothing to help.
Avatar n tn I was treated with antibiotics (Augmentin) appx. 4-5 weeks ago for a very bad sinus infection. I felt better and then appx 2 weeks ago I developed more symptoms, dental (teeth) pain, headaches, extreme tiredness, ear congestion, and finally went back to the doctor. He said that my throat glands were swollen and gave me a different anibiotic. I have been on the antibiotics for 4plus full days.
Avatar m tn Im 20 years old and was diagnosed in December of 07 with MS and have noticed constant sinus infections on an almost monthly basis. Does anyone have any information as to why this could be? I live in the lower new york area maybe its my location? Is it normal?
Avatar f tn yup, it is 100% safe to take during pregnancy. And it's a godsend of a medication lol. I had a double ear infection, double sinus infection, and stage 1 phumonia(sp), and Zithromax had me cleared up and feeling better withen the same night of taking it. I was also worried to take it at first, so I called almost every pharmacy in town and asked about it, and I got the same answer, which is it's safe, and I even called my doc and double checked with him lmao.
Avatar f tn I recently had Sinus Surgery due to an infected sinus. Ironically, a redness on my face would go from the corner of my eye to the sinus to the molar tooth area. I kept complaining to the dentist about this problem, but he takes xrays and can't find anything wrong and blames it on the sinuses. Well, I've had surgery on the sinus, which is on the same side as the teeth giving me problems. Again, I'm having severe pain in the two molars.
